Re: Hayate no Gotoku chapter reviews

So, Nagi explains how a trip with HER going on it will
undoubtedly give useful experiences. The trip is to... Kyoto!
(congrats, HnG, you're now doing what Lucky Star, Negima and
Yuru Yuri ALL already did :P) Hina and Chiharu are unsure about
going along, but Ayumu says that Nagi is showing determination
and they should support her. And then Wataru calls Ayumu,
demanding she get to work and that she's gonna be working a week
straight. XD (poor Ayumu, the one thing worse than working in a
store is working in a quiet store) She heads off, leaving Hina
and Chiharu awfully concerned.
Nagi visits the apartments, informing Maria of her plan when
Hayate and Ruka appear. Nagi tells them what she's going to do,
and even notes that she's not taking her iPhone - no phone, no
GPS, no restaurant guides, not even Twitter for comically
desperate tweets. Maria keeps popping in at the worst moments.
XD Hayate and Ruka are shocked at Nagi's plan, even moreso when
she points out that she doesn't even know the way to Tokyo
Station. Isumi pops up and says she'll guide Nagi. Everyone
realises that Nagi is doomed. :P
10 Word Summary!
'Nagi has a plan for Kyoto, but it's pretty reckless.'

399! Cute Hina cover advertising Cuties.
KAYURA! :3 She's with Nagi and Isumi, getting the lowdown on
Nagi's plan. She offers to help them get to Kyoto, since right
now they've managed to get to Hokkaido.
HTML http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3300/hayatethecombatbutler39.jpg
(I lol'd :P)
Kayura takes them to her house, though Nagi says she won't stay
the night. Maria gets contacted that they're lost; Hayate is
concerned (Ruka watching, saddened) and it's noted that Nagi and
Isumi got seperated from Hina and Chiharu. Kayura's father,
meanwhile, is distressed - he's got a foreigner who's helped
create a game for his company, but the translator is nowhere to
be seen. Kayura tries to translate but can't grasp the accent;
Nagi can understand him, however, and explains that he's
Australian.
Kayura: Amazing. Nagi, you almost seem like you're not an
idiot...
While Kayura and Papa Tsurugino gawp over the game, the
Australian guy - George - explains to Nagi that his team blew
the entire 1 billion yen budget on graphics, and need another
half-billion for the AI. However, Papa Tsurugino is so
passionate about the game (he'll hang himself if they can't get
it out, he says with a loveheart :P) and he offhandedly comments
that they can't spend even 10 million more yen. Under too much
pressure, Nagi says that everything is fine and that George is
glad they like the game. :P
10 Word Summary!
'Nagi and Isumi get lost, Kayura returns, George's life sucks.'
400th chapter next! Colour pages but I doubt we'll see any
amazing development.

*walks in with nosebleed and tears down my cheeks*
You'd never guess who has to strip for the colour pages. :P
Don't worry, though, the tears are from hysterical laughter.
In chapter 400, Nagi interjects the ongoing story so we can see
her manga - after all, remember back when she was promised to
have her manga shown in chapter 100? She wants retribution. :P
Hayate is unsure about interrupting the story, but Nagi points
out that the film and CTMEOY have already shown later points in
the story and we know Ruka's not married to Hayate, so Nagi
wins. XD (still find that irksome but it being lamp-shaded so
blatantly was epic)
So, Nagi's manga, based on her own experiences. The main
character still appears to be Britney, though less ridiculously
muscled. She wakes up, forgets her dream and falls asleep again.
A robot belonging to a witch comes in (Hayate as a Wall-E type
thing with a monitor head complete with emoticon), not-Nagi
whomps him with a pillow (thrown by her magical power), and the
robot complains that one day, she'll wake up on her own. Which
it says every day, it seems. XD
Not-Maria is the witch, who insists that 'parsley is not a
decoration' when not-Nagi tries to avoid eating it. She ends up
eating it anyway. One of her familiars fights with not-Nagi's
shoe laces (shown alternating between squirrel-Ayumu asking if
it's her favourite shoe, and Shiranui assaulting the shoe).
Another of Nagi's familiars is one with glasses whose main flaw
is that she constantly insists that she's not an otaku.
Apparently, when she sees two guys walking along (one of whom
looks remarkably like Shinji :P), she just watches with a blush.
She has a locked folder on her computer, apparently. XD It's
bunny-Chiharu, btw. Alice is a cat familiar who always stares
blankly but who not-Nagi thinks is an ahoge controlling the
rest. Kayura is another familiar who eats manga. XDXD
Not-Nagi states that she's the only sane person around. Then -
and this had me laughing hard - No-T*ts shows up, a not-Hina
with a plank or some sort of flat object for a body. She tries
to perform a tsukkomi act. Then not-Hayate pops up and points
out that No-T*ts will always be No-T*ts, and gets a pounding.
The others interrupts Nagi's manga, insisting that the
characters are all wrong (Alice does point out that 'No-T*ts' is
apt, though XD), and put off the manga for another hundred
chapters at least. :P
10 Word Summary!
'Nagi's manga revolves around caricatures of the other
characters. Epicness.'
A.
Edit: ... really, Createaforum? REALLY? You even asterisk out
the word t*ts? I had to edit this, HAD to, because that name is
just too good. XD

401! I believe I can do this review rather succinctly.
Nagi wakes up from a weird dream (ch.400 :P), and we see that
she's on a bus to Kyoto with Kayura. Apparently, Nagi informed
Kayura's dad about the game AI being incomplete, and Kayura
brushes off her dad being broke, as you never know what's around
the corner. She also ponders Isumi's location, but Nagi says not
to worry. Hayate is concerned over Nagi (and can't look for her
as he must stay with Ruka), and Maria says that worrying won't
stop the fact that she WILL get in trouble. She's like a cat
brought up indoors going outside. Maria says she'll go to look
for her, and Hayate remarks that she's just as much an indoor
cat as Nagi. Alice says she'll help Maria, and Hayate believes
that she's just 'the smallest cat'. XD
Hayate: Oh, no. There's so much to be worried about, I'm not
sure what to be most worried about!
Hinagiku and Chiharu are chilling in Kyoto (apparently, Nagi was
on the SAME TRAIN as them and still managed to get lost XD).
Maria and Alice plan their journey, by taxi and aeroplane. :P
Nagi and Kayura discuss how nothing will happen if Nagi just
takes a trip. As they re-board the bus, and drive off, Kayura
talks to Nagi. ... well, I say Nagi...
HTML http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/9210/v016.jpg
(I love Kayura's expression there XD)
Nagi is sat alone at the... place where the bus stopped.
10 Word Summary!
'The cast divide into pairs as Nagi continues her misadventure.'

Re: Hayate no Gotoku chapter reviews

So, 402 was pretty simple. :3
Nagi's annoyed - she wasn't necessarily intending on the bus
leaving without her. She just wanted to see if something
interesting happened. Now she's got to make her way to Hakodate,
alone. While she has several thousand yen with which she can pay
for a taxi, there are no taxis in-sight. To that end, she starts
to head off down the highway, hoping to encounter a passing
taxi, or at least a car to hitch-hike with.
And so she keeps on walking, thirsty and tired, into the night,
until she finally collapses. All the while, she ponders Hayate
and why she's even pushing herself so far. Suddenly, she notices
a vending machine at the side of the road. Rushing over to it,
she realises it take change only, and 'faint(s) on her feet'. XD
Then a hand appears, putting in change and buying a drink. Nagi
turns to see... a new character! :D (I like me some new
characters XD) She asks to be given a lift to Hakodate.
10 Word Summary!
'Nagi pushes herself towards Hakodate, and meets a new
character.'
-Cuties bonus-
This'll be a feature for the next few weeks, just cos I feel
like it. :P
Episode 1 of 'Hayate no Gotoku - Cuties' followed Hayate. It was
basically an adaptation of three manga chapters - the 'daily
life of Hayate' one, and the first two after the hiatus with
everyone getting ill and Hayate ending up with the illness on
exam day. It manages to tie the three chapters together
beautifully - the daily life is like a stage-setting (and
therefore not too comedic, but that's fine) before we get to the
madcap illness stories. It also weaves itself into post-CTMEOY
timeline, with Ruka stopping by and noting that the DVD of her
Vegas gig is now available, note that Nagi is going between the
mansion and the apartments, and with Ayumu written in as a
resident of the apartments, which she wasn't in those chapters
(in fact, her involvement in the illness story is the best gag -
Ayumu states that she's fine, Nagi retorts 'How nice. Idiots
don't get sick', and Ayumu then fakes illness and rushes off
XDXD). The opening is also, hands down, the BEST HnG opening to
date. (and I've only watched this and the CTMEOY one, but I
don't care :P) For once, it has a character song - by Hinagiku,
so naturally gorgeous - the animation is beautiful, we get to
see Yukiji, Wataru, Saki, Regiostar, Tama, Shiranui, Fumi and
Sharna briefly (Fumi poofs from chibi to normal XD), and there's
a brilliant moment near the start with the main cast lying on
the ground in a circle that's just awesome. A great start to the
series (certainly better than Nyaruko-san W, which felt very
much like a re-establishing episode, and so I have faith will
improve in future episodes), and definitely looking forward to
more even if they're all gonna be chapters I've read. :P
Ha, the bonus was longer than the chapter review. XD

New chapter, very succinctly, is Ruka using a new 'machine'
she's invented, the 'I am the butler and the butler is me'
machine. It's basically a tool for her to see what Hayate sees,
to gain interesting experiences. Hayate goes about his day,
apparently missing loads of weird stuff that Ruka sees via the
machine. He even meets Izumi (cute as ever X3) and Ruka can see
a feudal ghost behind her. Hayate still can't see it. Ruka
removes the machine from her head and sees all the creepy stuff
in front of her. Turns out, Regiostar is just giving her an
'interesting experience'.
10 Word Summary!
'Ruka uses device to vicariously live through Hayate, gets
trolled.'
-Cuties bonus-
Eh, Nagi episode, not much to say. XD Her playing Black Ops
amused me, and I showed my bro too. It's basically a combination
of three chapters - her waking up early, the 'watches a horror
film' chapter (the music cutting out the moment Hayate
immediately forgets his pledge to stick by Nagi's side makes it
all the better XD) and her needing motivation, including
extended scenes of Hayate asking for Hina and Ayumu's advice
which leads to my favourite line of the episode:
Ayumu: Oh, I know what you mean! Like Lassie and Rin Tin Tin,
right?
Hayate: Those are famous dogs, not quotes.

So, Kayura phones Hayate about Nagi's absence, and promises to
help look for her with Isumi. Then Isumi vanishes too. XD Ruka
comments that Hayate should look for her, but Hayate believes
that Nagi manages to draw incredible luck when pressed.
This shown alongside Nagi being petrified while being driven
about in the new woman's Lambo. XDXD
Nagi wakes up in the morning, and the new woman introduces
herself - Doctor Kurosu, a travelling doctor (who only helps
people she likes :P). Nagi is annoyed at the speed of their
journey and deadpans about Kurosu's statements on her career,
but it seems that Kurosu has a spiritual reason to visit Kyoto.
All the while, Ruka asks Hayate if he thinks he'll be Nagi's
butler forever. Hayate states that, while he did say he'd
protect her in the past and future, he feels that one day,
having paid off his debt and with Nagi able to live without him,
he'll move on. And a calendar is blown by the wind,
indicating... 24th December 2005. :o (we figured as much XD)
-Cuties bonus (x2)-
If there's a thread tying together what makes the Alice episode
(ep 3) and the Sakuya and Isumi episode (ep 4) together, it's of
course, Fumi Hibino. :P The bulk of the Alice episode focuses on
the misadventures with Armageddon, first finding him and looking
for his master, and then the 'stolen money' plot with Wataru,
Saki and Yukiji. It's tailed off with the Nagi and Alice 'head
to the café' plot, which due to the fact it's just the last few
minutes, feels a bit odd and tacked on, but is cute as ever. :P
Sakuya and Isumi episode then opens with, of course, Isumi's
maid chapter. I was very excited to see this, and beyond not
using the Black Butler 'helluva maid' spoof, it really was
brilliant. XD This was followed by the story of Sakuya meeting
Chiharu, which was done well and cute, and the 'Isumi helps
Sakuya understand Nagi's manga', which I never really liked
(don't like much of Isumi's new troll side, I prefer her being a
quiet perpetually-lost girl who kicks ass in secret :P). Really
though, across both episodes, you've gotta give credit to Kana
Asumi, the brilliant seiyuu who also voices Nyarko in 'Haiyore!
Nyaruko-san' (if you couldn't tell :P) and Chihiro Kosaka in
'The World God Only Knows' (not to mention Shiranui here too
:P). She plays Fumi with such deranged zaniness and frantic
energy that you can't help but love her. XD

Ch.405 is... well, Hinagiku and Chiharu having a normal day out
in Kyoto.
Yup. :P It proves just how unremarkable a story with two
responsible characters would be.
And with the two gently teasing one another (Hina says she's
never seen the real Kinkaku-Ji, Chiharu says she's never seen a
fake one either; Chiharu says that she's just a lovely school
girl who can't walk or run 6km as Hina suggests, Hina remarks
that she's also lovely; Chiharu gets out of breath on the
journey, Hina suggests she exercise more), an epic comment from
Chiharu about keeping her glasses on in the bath so people can
identify her character, a tiny bit of yuri teasing with Chiharu
(as GDB of AnimeSuki says, "Hina turns all the girls bi. Proven
fact."), and Nagi zooming past with Kurosu in the end and going
completely unnoticed, it's a pretty fun chapter. Though only as
a one-off. :P
Also, comparing Hina and Chiharu to the other girls (Nagi,
Isumi, Ayumu, Ruka, Izumi, Yukiji) with a little panel full of
past chibis of those girls spazzing out XDXD) made me chuckle.
:P
10 Word Summary for the previous chapter as I forgot!
'Nagi meets the new woman, while Hata hints the end.'
10 Word Summary!
'Hina and Chiharu have fun together in Kyoto, awaiting Nagi.'
-Cuties bonus (x2)-
Bloody chapter releases being every other week at the moment. XD
Episodes 5 and 6 focused on Hinagiku and 'Izumi Segawa and the
other two' (as the cue-card said XD), meaning I was bound to
love them both. Hina's episode ingeniously merged the shoulder
rub chapter and the Greece-arc volleyball incident, giving us
some gorgeous Hina fan-service and uniting the two plots about
her believing that Hayate sees her as not being delicate. The
trio episode also adapted some of the best chapters - the
interesting video competition, the Risa's popularity story, and
of course, Izumi with the video camera, providing so much
adorableness and moe that you can barely handle it. :P Oh, and I
managed to spot the Tanuki again, this time on Yukiji's desk at
the start of the video camera story, though only because I
paused it to comment in my Notepad file. XD I'm 2 for 6 on
spotting it at the moment, though I know roughly where it is in
ep 5 due to a screencap.

In today's Hayate no Gotoku...
Ayumu wakes up with a stomach-ache (she drank milk 10 days past
expiration o.o;; ), so Saki calls Hayate to fill in for her at
the shop. Ruka, learning it's a doujin shop, goes too (in
disguise, of course, and getting rather hot over a woman in an
hentai book XD). Hayate ends up in Ayumu's maid costume
(assumedly the one from the film; he also notes it's a bit loose
around the waist. Poor Ayumu D: :P) to go and attract customers,
while Ruka chills upstairs and decides to also help out,
in-disguise, to attract customers (she's the magical girl,
Fairly Creamy ☆ Mami XDXD). Someone seems to recognise the
maid...
It's Kotetsu, lunging at Hayate and getting punched in the face.
XDXD
10 Word Summary!
'Hayate and Ruka dress as maids to help Wataru's shop.'
No Cuties this week, it seems. Odd, but OK. XD

OK, I slightly didn't get chapter 407, due to all this talk of
'koshien'. So lemme try and summarise without using that word.
:P
Risa wants the trio to achieve... erm, something (seems like
some kinda of 'karma' type thing, maybe?), though the others are
unsure due to the fact they don't play baseball, nor do they
have a Tatsuya or a Kazuya (eh?). Risa insists they can, er...
make a video research club... karma? Now they're MAKING it
instead of ACHIEVING it... Miki points out that 'video research
clubs' aren't particularly common, so they get Izumi's dad to
use his company's wealth to make a video research... it's a
competition now? o.o; (but hey, Izumi being moe)
The prize is about 10 million yen, so the trio realise they need
a good video as many people will enter for that prize. Yukiji
steps forward as their advisor (yeah, she doesn't want the prize
at all XD), and models in a Hakuou school uniform for shocking
footage for them, but they're not impressed and delete the
footage. Izumi instead takes them to Kotetsu's room, to show
them the shock of his room being PLASTERED with photos of Hayate
(or as Izumi describes it, true love XD). Miki and Risa head off
to Akihabara to catch this 'criminal' in the act, and do so the
moment Hayate punches Kotetsu from last issue. They then proceed
to film cross-dressed Hayate, who is annoyed, and when he
explains the situation with Wataru and Saki, Risa ponders doing
an emotional film about them.
Then Yukiji turns up, still in the school uniform. :P
10 Word Summary!
'Izumi is cute, Kotetsu is scary. Koshien really confuses me.'
Cuties is tonight, so ep 7 review next week. -_-;
