       Penultimate chapter. #567.
The Royal Garden collapses, and as Nagi recovers, Hayate is
nowhere to be found. She cries out for him... and he appears!
Kurosu recites a legend which seems to indicate how Nagi could
have brought him back, but Athena simply sums it up as a happy
ending. Then, of course, Hisui appears, irate over having lost
the chance at power. Nagi then tells her to stop, asking that
she let her talk to Hayate. She then hands Hisui Loto's key,
granting her the inheritance and telling her not to stop trying
to win, as she likes that about her. They promise to meet up
over cake one day when Hisui's won. As the others leave too,
Nagi then tells Hayate that she no longer needs anything - she
will stand on her own, and earn her way in life.
       Hayate is fired.
He no longer has to protect her, or love her, but she still
cares about everything that has happened this past year. Hayate
bows in gratitude and thanks her... while she struggles to hold
in her tears, insisting that she has to stand on her own from
       today.
So clearly the final chapter is her no longer having to be
alone. Possibly kissy-kissy with Hayate, which will need to be
set up well if so (I can see it just being them married in the
       future, though).
       10 Word Summary!
"Hayate returns, Hisui wins, and Nagi prepares to stand alone."
       I don't want (Hayate no Gotoku) to go. ;_;
       A.

Eight months and one almighty re-read later.
Chapter 568 begins with Hayate's parents escaping and plotting
anew... only for Hisui to attack them. Shun (Papa Ayasaki)
escapes while Hisui taunts Mama with the same "this is what you
get for your sins" line; Ikusa shows up to attack Shun. Mikoto
tells Himegami that Yukariko made a second wish of Nadja - the
second being to restore the 50 lost years of life back to
Himegami. The idiot trio recount how Nagi and Chiharu have both
left Hakuou (Chiharu not being able to pay the tuition), while
Hayate has vanished. Hinagiku heads off to confess to Hayate,
and at least gets part-way through it.
We jump to two years later. Nagi, Chiharu and Kayura all seem to
be living together. Chiharu's published a successful light
novel, and Nagi is balancing school, work and sport (baseball,
it seems). She still misses Hayate around Christmas, though. We
see her hanging out at the park - two guys approach her, but she
valiantly defends herself. The guys head off, and Nagi tells
Hayate he can stop hiding and looking over her - he steps out of
the bushes. They talk, and she reminds him that she cannot
afford to hire him back as his butler. He then tells her that he
wants to be with her. That he still has things he wants to
protect, and he wants to talk with her under the infinitely vast
starry sky. The two head off hand-in-hand to talk.
       The End.
       10 Word Summary!
"Justice is served, Hina confesses, and Nagi's all grown up."
Thank you so, so much, Kenjiro Hata. Re-reading this has been an
absolute blast, having this manga as a part of my life for the
past seven years has been an honour, and after all of this and
your fantastic hard work, this ending was perfect. Thank you,
       salutations, and Merry Christmas.
       A.
