557! Turns out Mikado was trying to lure Himegami out - Himegami
proposes that he will give Nagi the inheritance if Hayate allows
Hisui to have the Royal Power. He elaborates that none of
Hayate, Nagi and Hisui have a wish for the Power... but he does.
Baaasically, he and Yukariko met as children (as seen before) -
he was instantly smitten, and used the Royal Power to impress
her, losing fifty years from his lifespan. They made a promise
for Yukariko to one day use the Power to undo his wish, and that
subsequently, he would rescue her from the Palace. However, in
the end, she used her wish for something else (freeing Nadja?)
and Himegami managed to accidentally undo his curse when the
Stone he wished on was destroyed. Ginka and Athena show up as
Himegami says that he wishes to use the Power to find Yukariko -
Athena points out what happened to Midas, but he reminds her
       that Midas was defeated.
Hinagiku then says that there's no saying that seeing Yukariko
again wouldn't mean she would fall in love with him. "Some
       feelings will never reach someone..." ;_;
He declares that negotiations have failed, and that as planned,
he and Hisui shall obtain everything. He flees.
At the mansion, Nagi points out how it feels like one year
before - after Himegami had left, poor Hayate arrived, when it
was just her and Maria. It was fun in its own way, apparently -
Maria then suggests they do something fun.
       10 Word Summary!
"Himegami reveals his love for Yukariko, Nagi recalls the past."

       Welp...
Maria takes Nagi fishing on the mansion grounds (there's a gag
about them never having done it before - the fishing episode in
season 1 being anime-original). After pulling out things like
the fairground mascot's head and the Sanzenin Secret Technique
guide, they wind up catching a particularly large "koi" (i.e.
Shenlong or w/e) and get dragged into the water. While Nagi's
annoyed, Maria says it was fun.
Then we skip over a month and a half, and Nagi narrates that
Maria stuck to her word - after her 14th birthday, Maria left a
single letter and vanished "like the wind".
... so we're in early December now. December 4th, if we assume
she left the day after Nagi's birthday. We get all of two panels
of the birthday (one with Nagi in a gown and at least Hinagiku
and Chiharu visible in the background; one with Maria watching
on). There's brief mention of more stuff going on with Hisui and
Himegami. Funny how I went into this chapter thinking we were on
to "Finale" too soon when we're still having fluff chapters...
but this is now winding up very fast.
Maybe it's just because I'm used to this series taking its time
to show the days passing... heaven knows if we weren't coming up
to the end, those six or so weeks would've been given
coverage... but it kind of feels rushed now. Like we've skimmed
past the Hisui/Himegami stuff just so we can get to the point of
       Maria leaving.
Roughly twenty days left, one would expect. Bring on this
finale! Let it be worth the loss of a month and a half. And let
the almost inevitable HayatexNagi work right.
       10 Word Summary!
"Fishing goes crazy, old gags referenced; time passes, goodbye
       Maria."

Ch.559 begins with a flashback to Christmas Eve last year! Ayumu
insisted on inviting Hayate to the karaoke party that she, Souya
et al were at, but she never managed to find him. Then we skip
forward to some time in November, with Ayumu trying to invite
Hayate to a one-on-one Christmas party (Hayate's dense and Ayumu
       gets a little confused XD).
We then jump back to "present", a week after Maria's departure.
Nagi's depressed, spending most days in bed, and she refuses to
read Maria's letter and accept that she's gone. Hayate takes her
to see Kanizaki, the ill woman from before, but Kurosu appears
at the hospital and notes that Kanizaki's condition declined.
Hayate discusses Nagi's state with Hina, Kayura, Aika and the
trio, and Risa ends up suggesting that the Hakuou Big Bubble
Christmas Party could cheer Nagi up. Hina explains how it's the
most dangerous of the five Hakuou events, an all-night
money-splashing event which has previously seen the Rogue One
premiere and an iMac launch. XD Kananiwa shows up and gives it
the go-ahead, mainly because she wants to find herself a man
       there.
Nagi's still holed up. Hayate tells her about the party, which
apparently Ruka will be performing at. Nagi asks if he'll ever
leave her, and mentions that he loves her so wouldn't ever go.
We don't see Hayate's expression, but he confirms that he won't
       leave her side.
We're now in mid-December, then. We'll probably be at the party
next time. Assumedly Ayumu comes along and tries to get Hayate
alone... (perhaps they kiss and Nagi sees? :o). I'm hoping this
will still tie back to Hisui and Himegami, and they're not just
dropped now that we've jumped ahead. I shouldn't think they'll
be ignored, but we're really going full-steam ahead...
       10 Word Summary!
"Nagi is depressed over Maria's departure - big Christmas party
       soon."

Oooh, stuff's going down in chapter 560!
We start off with Athena, Sakuya and Isumi, who have completed
their Central Dogma-style base in the clock tower and equipment
to allow telepathic communication between them and whoever (most
likely Hayate) ends up following Hisui into the Royal Garden.
Sakuya is pretty disturbed that all this stuff is just being
       thrown in out of nowhere.
We then see Ayumu by the vending machines on December 23rd - she
reflects back on learning about the Bubble Party, and questions
how different this year could've been if she were the one who
found Hayate. He then shows up, and apologises for not being
able to have the party with her - she brushes it off,
considering that the Bubble Party is (being used) to cheer up
Nagi. She then departs, teary-eyed and wondering what the point
of this whole year has been.
Then - the Bubble Party! Ruka's on stage, Fumi's up to her usual
antics, Hinagiku's been dressed as a sexy Santa... and Nagi's
missing. As Hayate and Chiharu split up to look for her (the
former going to the mansion; the latter, the apartments), Hisui
is detected directly above the clock tower. She's in a zeppelin
with Himegami, and there's a large artificial King's Jewel hung
below with a real stone inside. She intends on gathering up the
misery at the party. Also, Sakuya in (a slightly cleaner version
of) the Virgin Killer Sweater. XD Hisui starts to force the path
open, and Isumi leaps out to fight her.
The man interested in buying the apartments meets Chiharu and
learns that Nagi is missing. As Hayate then turns up, with Nagi
nowhere to be found at the mansion, he's stunned. Striking the
man, he demands to know what his father is doing here!
       10 Word Summary!
"The party is here, Hisui is scheming, here's Papa Ayasaki!"

       Hooooooly sh!t!
Ch.561 begins with Papa Ayasaki explaining that everything he's
been doing was just to find out about Nagi - to get his "cut".
Hayate asks what his mother's doing with the information, only
to figure it out... she's Kanzaki! Of course, Nagi's at
Kanzaki's bedside, and asks why everyone always goes away. Mama
Ayasaki insists that it means they don't really love her, and
begins to question if Hayate really confessed to her. Hayate
bursts in (Nagi's no longer present), and his mother insists
that he deceived her just to try and have her take him in...
which he did basically do. But it was all a misunderstanding!
And, of course, Nagi's hidden away and overhears the whole
       thing.
(Awh the look of despair on her face... D: )
She flees, while Mama Ayasaki insists that this is what Hayate
gets for his sins. At the mansion, Nagi screams out for Maria,
but is of course confronted only by the unopened note and her
King's Jewel. Hayate tries to explain himself, while Nagi
insists that Maria would still be here if not for him.
She asks if he loves her. He gives no response. (They're both
crying at this point.) Nagi breaks down, insisting that this
can't be true, as her stone shines.
       10 Word Summary!
"Ayasaki parents interfering, the truth outs, Nagi's fantasy
       world emerges."
Because of course this is how we get that fantasy world from the
       first finale chapter. :P
I have a hunch this was Hata's plan from the start - to have
Hayate's parents be involved in the big reveal. Very, very
well-played, I feel. Even if we've barely ever seen them before,
that only adds to the impact of what they've done. We know they
hate their son, and they're scammers... and that's enough. The
       fu(king feels, man...
(Also, this Friday will be the last time we have Hinagiku's
birthday while the manga's ongoing. :3)

562! A huge light begins to shine above Hakuou as the path is
opened - the team in Central Dogma the Clock Tower watch on,
noting that it's hundreds of times larger than expected. Inside,
Nagi is greeted by the Manuscript of Orumuzuto Nadja, who offers
to realise her wish. Nagi makes her wish - to be in the mansion
with Hayate and Maria, in a world where Hayate loves her. Cue
the world we saw back in Ch.549, with Nagi being told by Hayate
that he loves her. Apparently, this isn't a rewritten world but
a closed space, out of reach from the Clock Tower. Hayate and
Hisui are floating in separate black voids all the while.
They're both in the Royal Garden, so whoever wakes up first will
have dibs on the power. Ginka returns, having driven wedges into
the path to hold it open for a little while longer. They need to
get Hisui's huge stone to head inside.
Then, of course, Himegami starts destroying the wedges...
As Mikado tells him to stop, Himegami argues that he has been
watching all this time and knows it's best for everyone. Nagi
gets her ideal world, Hisui is strong enough to get what she
wants, and Hayate... should've died a year ago, so he at least
got one more year of life. Athena tells Isumi that they must
hold the path open, only for Himegami to send a blast at them.
Hinagiku blocks it with the Shirozakura, and says that she shall
retrieve the stone. She introduces herself to Himegami as "an
ally of justice who was in the neighbourhood".

Hayate getting his just desserts and her not being able to reach
him due to her fear of heights. (Aika also pops up and insists
that everyone knows she likes Hayate. :P) Hina then proceeds to
ride Shirozakura around like a hoverboard, while fighting
Himegami (and his Royal Power-granted rocket punch right arm)
first with Wooden Masamune, and then with a shinai that Fumi had
and which Yukiji throws up to her sister. All while everyone
else cheers her on (thinking it's a show) and Ruka performs A
       Cruel Angel's Thesis.

564 already? Slow down, Hata! :P
Ayumu watches as Hayate beats up thrown-together dummies of the
likes of his parents, Himegami and Hisui in his dreamscape. He
tells her that he's defeating those who'd try to hurt Nagi...
one of them is labelled "Hayate". We rewind a little, and see
what (I forgot to mention this) Sakuya stumbled upon at the end
of the previous chapter. The King's Jewel from Hisui's craft is
encased in an impenetrable magic field, delaying our heroes for
long enough that Hisui can claim the Royal Power. Sakuya orders
Mikado to use the telepathic helmet to contact Hayate and get
him to grab a (the? this?) stone. Klaus goes to use it, but
finds he's being blocked. Hayate is rejecting the call to wake
up. Chiharu and Kurosu arrive and (though passed over) explain
what happened to bring all of this on.
Athena suggests someone with a strong-enough bond to Hayate
could break through... but Maria's gone, and when Isumi suggests
her (Athena), she swiftly rejects that idea. Instead, of course,
she goes to Ayumu, who's questioning what she's been doing this
whole time. Athena asks her to save Hayate, and we cut back to
the dreamscape, where Ayumu asks Hayate to stop. He in turn
tells her that his mother said this is all his fault (his crying
face ;3; ). He mentions that he wishes he'd never met Nagi if it
was all to wind up like this; Ayumu questions what could've
happened if he and Nagi hadn't met. Hisui awakens all the while,
and breaks out of her void to find herself in the Royal Garden.
And now, a hypothetical last Christmas Eve... where two other
people (the abductors?) go to talk to Nagi before Hayate can get
to her, and Ayumu finds him before he can see them off. Himegami
comes to Nagi's rescue, and Ayumu invites Hayate back to the
party (flustering her way through talk about "spending a special
night with someone special"). He mentions the debt placed on him
and the yakuza coming for him, but she insists that she'll fight
alongside him. As if on cue, the yakuza turn up, and when they
ask if Ayumu's going to pay the debt for Hayate, he tells them
that he'll never forgive them if they lay a hand on her. The two
then flee together, hand-in-hand... more exploration of this

Chapter 566 continues on with Hayate winding up crying over
being confronted by the illusory Maria. He yells at her for
leaving and causing Nagi (and him) to be sad, not to mention him
never getting to give her a birthday present. She then explains
that if she never left, Nagi would never stand on her own.
Handing him her goodbye letter, she tells him to look after Nagi
and heads off - then turns around and insists she get him a
really expensive brand-name wallet. She'll find him to receive
       it, wherever he is.
Hayate then races off to find Nagi in the Royal Garden itself.
She says she's collecting flowers for Maria, and Hayate makes
her a flower crown. He then points out to her that this is all
an illusion, apologises for pushing her so far, and explains the
circumstances that lead to their meeting and him sincerely
becoming her butler to repay her. Nagi snaps that it doesn't
matter that it's an illusion, and suggests that Hayate make a
wish too as he also has a King's Jewel. He then wishes that Nagi
       never made her wish.
Nagi is stunned. Hayate hands her Maria's letter, saying that he
doesn't believe it to be a goodbye letter. On the back is
written "Eternity is found here"; inside, a photo of the three
of them together. Hayate explains that, even if they met through
a mistake, all the days they have spent together were real, and
they still have a bond no matter what. His stone was in her
flower crown. Nagi realises that this means he no longer has a
stone, just as Isumi whisks her away. Hayate remains in the
