378, and woooo boy.
Cover image to the magazine. Colour intro comic with Nagi
announcing the new manga, 8th anniversary and 'other stuff'.

Yukiji announces to her class that they have homework – hell,
Hakuou actually has a massive book entitled ‘The Enemy of Summer
Vacation’. Nagi is hardly enthused. Maria, of course, IS. Ayumu
is just confused, since she’ll be doing her homework immediately
before returning to school. However, when she realises that
Hayate will be tied up until the homework is done (her mental
image of her frolicking on a beach with Hayate, disrupted when
he’s mauled by the ‘blunt object’ that is the homework, is
frankly epic), she decides to take charge, prepping Nagi,
Kayura, Chiharu, Hina and Hayate. All the while, A-tan enquires
as to what they’re doing, with Ruka realising (with Maria’s
questioning) that she’d given up the option of high school for
her idol career, which she’s now given up too. Maria is
apologetic for bringing this disturbing truth to light.
Later, Ruka’s lying awake, wondering if she can really just
focus on her doujinshi work. She gets up for some tea, to find
Hayate already in the kitchen. They discuss their work, and when
she wishes him luck on the homework, he returns the favour re:
her doujinshi. This shocks her somewhat, as it further
reiterates that she’s placing all of her hopes and financial
stability – her life – on this mangaka job. Oh, and then…
She coughs up blood.

379. This is gonna be brief.
Nagi finds Ruka basking on the apartment porch. Ruka explains
'sunlight causes something to happen somewhere in your body that
makes you healthy somehow.' The two start to talk about the
bucket list that Ruka has written, although she refuses to let
Nagi read it as it's personal. Nagi says that her bucket list
would include writing a trillion-copy selling manga, with an
anime, and a film. She then insists that Ruka read one of hers;
Ruka reads about eating ice-cream in Rome. Over-hearing, Chiharu
notes that it is from an Audrey Hepburn film, which Nagi
dismisses. Besides, she finds Haagen-Dazs to be better. (Ruka is
amazed at this; which confuses me, since we get it over here,
and Kyouko in YuruYuri definitely had some) Ruka asks what
Chiharu would have on her bucket list.
Nagi: The glasses girl isn't going to have anything good.
Chiharu: Hey!! Don't make fun of glasses girl!! And don't call
me that!!
Chiharu then flashes back to Sakuya thanking her greatfully for
becoming her maid, which flusters her. She shrugs it off as
'wishing to be close to the people she cares about'. Or
vice-versa. Ruka and Chiharu realise that life is all about
getting as many little happy moments as possible. Nagi
disagrees, saying it's about winning or losing, do or don't do.
Maria calls them in for food.
All the while, Ruka's manager phones Hayate, and tells him that
Ruka's 'health issues' for which she's been excused actually
exist. After her first fainting episode, tests were taken, and
she's not faring well. She asks Hayate to keep an eye on her, as
Ruka comes in. We see that Ruka has 'find a lovely boyfriend' at
the bottom of her bucket list.
Maybe not so brief...

380! Another mini milestone.
So, we see Ruka in a forest, sat with her feet in a stream. It's
quaint and quiet, and she's bored out of her mind. (it's also my
brother's birthday, July 20th... happy 7th birthday back then,
bro!) Flash back to Hayate still on the phone to Ruka's manager,
who says she has some illness the name of which now escapes me,
which means Ruka will cough up blood if under too much stress.
Hanging up, Hayate asks Ruka if she's fine, and she says yes,
other than the coughing up blood. (cue ADORABLE panel XD) Hayate
is shocked, and insists on getting a doctor's opinion, which he
does.
Meanwhile, Nagi notes to Chiharu how Hina is busy with a Kendo
tournament and Kayura is visiting her parents (to quote Kyouko,
'buuuuuu...'). It's an interesting first day of summer break.
And Nagi shall work on her manga all day every day! Chiharu's
notes that Nagi has homework go ignored. Maria gets a phone call
from Klaus (no, we don't see him :P). She informs Nagi that
Mikado has fallen ill, which Nagi is unimpressed at (thinking
only of herself, of course!). Hayate interjects, noting Ruka's
blood-coughing-up and enquires about a place where Ruka can
relax.
Anyway, we end up in the special Saginomiya area at the edge of
Mikado's property; it's the birthplace of the Saginomiya family,
the Rainbow Village. Well, supposedly. It's a wooden cottage.
And Isumi is 1% sure she was born here. Ruka is glad that she's
here... she'll have lots of time to work on her manga! Hayate
insists that she just relax, as she's spent all of her life
working. She points out the same of him, and tells him that if
he also stops working and relaxes with her, she'll relax
herself. Isumi, Chiharu and Ayumu are all ignored in the
background.

381! This review will feature quotes cos I was noting some down.
:P
The group are unimpressed by the rainbow village. Isumi asks
what else COULD be the rainbow village. :P Chiharu and Ayumu
head off to locate said village, leaving Hayate and Ruka to
relax. We see Hayate's end of the 'relaxing' scene, with him
feeling anxious with nothing to do.
Hayate: I can't believe Lady Nagi lives like this every day. She
must have an incredibly strong heart. She must have a heart of
steel to laze around every day like that.
... XD
Ruka heads over, crouching down to him and asking if he's bored
or anxious yet, and giving him a slight panty shot. He freaks
out, and says he's not bored yet. He suggests she open her heart
to the relaxing nature around them.
Que monsoon. XDXD
Ruka: This is God telling us to work.
Hayate: No, he's telling us to go home and take a nap.
They head back to the "rainbow village", soaked through, and
Hayate rummages for towels, only to turn and see that Ruka's
underwear is VERY visible through her now see-through dress. It
actually takes her a moment of self-inspection to realise what's
going on. XD
Ruka: A-A-An idol's undewear i-i-i-is something you must never
see!!
Ruka is obviously annoyed and flustered. Hayate, meanwhile, has
a realisation...
Hayate: I had always approached her in work mode before, so I
never really thought about it. But... Ruka-san... is a girl,
isn't she?
Narrator: What did you think she was until now?

This chapter's pretty easy to sum up. Another I read at
grandpa's house on my mum's phone.
Hayate continues to ponder Ruka as she changes her clothes. She
looks adorable. X3 Hayate then goes to change too, going into
his butler uniform; Ruka is annoyed, but Hayate notes that he
has no other clothes. Ruka asks how he became a butler, and he
retells his story; Ruka makes note of how they were both left
with debt by their parents on Christmas eve, but that her
abandoning was on better terms. As he continues to dress, she
can't get herself over how much he manages to persevere, with a
smile on his face, so selflessly. She says his name, and when he
turns...
She kisses him.

383. Hayate's mind melts at the kiss, and Athena comes to mind.
As Ruka breaks the kiss off, she notes how it was her first.
Hayate can't admit that it was likely his 582nd. She confesses
that she loves him, asks him out, then coughs up blood. All the
while, Nagi "tends" to Mikado. They bicker, can't be assed to
summarise it but it's typical Nagi/Mikado. Isumi, Chiharu and
Ayumu find themselves back at the house; Chiharu and Ayumu give
up and ask to be taken back to the cabin, though Isumi has no
idea what they're on about. Chiharu phones Sakuya, asking where
the rainbow village is... turns out it's a beauty treatment
facility. She can't reach Hayate's phone, but she isn't too
worried... Ayumu, however, is.
Chiharu: But with Ayasaki-kun there, I don't think we need to
worry.
Ayumu: No!! That just makes it all the more dangerous!!
Chiharu: Eh?
Ayumu: *blushing, sweatdrop* Mainly in a physical way!!
Chiharu: Eh?
Hayate watches over a sleeping Ruka, pondering the predicament;
she wakes and requests an answer to her question.

Hayate says that he can't go out with her due to his duty as
Nagi's butler, but Ruka asks if it would therefore be fine if he
wasn't a butler.

Quick summary because it's almost midnight and I CBA. XD
HnG cover to Shounen Jump! Colour intro page!
Ruka elaborates that Hayate needs to pay back his debt, thereby
ending his need to be Nagi's butler. She promises to help, even
in spite of her OWN massive debt. :P All the while, Mikado and
Nagi toy with each other, although Mikado points out that Hayate
likely won't stay with Nagi forever. Her life won't be easy
forever. Maria agrees. XD Mikado notes she'd need the Sanzenin
Inheritance to carry on once Hayate and Maria move on. Sakuya
phones her.
Nagi: What? Ruka and Hayate are lost on the mountain!?
Sakuya: Yeah. A terrible guide led them to some cabin and
abandoned them there.
Isumi: My, what a horrible thing to do.
Chiharu: ...
Nagi: Understood!! We'll head out to look, too!!
Isumi: Okay, I'll lead the way.
Sakuya: Could you at least show a little remorse?
XD
Hayate ponders how this is the first time someone's confessed to
him so bluntly.
Except for Athena. And Ayumu. :P
And he forgot that he's Izumi's first kiss, too. XD
He ponders the possibility of moving on from his life with Nagi,
pondering when she grows up, bets a boyfriend and works hard
every day (represented by current, chibi Nagi being too short to
grab stuff, having a 2D boyfriend, and sleeping XD)...
Hayate: No!! I'm amazed how hard any of that is to imagine!!
Nagi finds him, and they discuss first the 'shitty cabin'
(Hayate scolds her language XD), then Mikado and how he's given
the inheritance to Hisui Hatsushiba, the older sister of Jenny.
... apparently, Jenny IS a character that appeared, Mikado's
niece. XD Volume 8, chapter 7 (apparently, this is chapter 136,
which I'll have to look up some time XD). Hayate worries how
Nagi would cope without the inheritance, Maria and himself.
Nagi: *in imaginary future, alone in apartment nomming rice*
Rise sure is hard when you don't cook it...
Hayate asks Nagi if she could survive on her own.

385. I'm REALLY aiming for conciseness this time. XD
Nagi loads a water pistol and squirts Hayate with it, insisting
she's capable of living on her own. Hayate tries to state his
reasoning but Nagi's too stubborn to accept. :P Meanwhile,
Chiharu and Ayumu are with Ruka, who admits that she confessed
to Hayate. Ayumu is shocked at Ruka's efficiency, and although
she's relieved when Ruka says that Hayate rejected her, she
freaks out further when the idol mentions her 'next plan'.
Ayumu: I... I can't let this go! I need to go on the offensive
and quickly lose 3 kilos!! I need to lose weight to fight on the
same level!!
The group all head off to the REAL rainbow village.
Hayate: Wow, it's just like a hot spring.
Isumi: It is a hot spring.
Ayumu: Does this hot spring let you lose 3 kilos by bathing in
it?
Isumi: I do not know.
Hayate goes to help Nagi chose a yukata, although she insists
she can choose for herself (then has to make do with one she
doesn't really want on a lower shelf XD). Hayate decides to find
a way to help Nagi, and phones up Mikado, who's been expecting
his call. In the baths, Nagi contemplates how she'd manage
without Hayate and Maria, and decides that she must put work
into her manga - cue stand-off-thing with Nagi nekkid (butt shot
:P ) and Ruka towel-garbed.

Chapter 386.
Nagi and Ruka get all confrontational in the baths. Ruka asks
how Nagi's getting on with her doujin, and Nagi bullshits that
she's doing great. XD
Nagi: I'm getting work done so fast, it's almost scary. It's
going so fast, it looks like it's standing still. It's so fast,
all motion has stopped.
As they continue being rival-y, Sakuya appears and suggests they
sit down... since they're probably getting cold, stood there
naked. :P (well, Ruka's in a towel but still) Sakuya then heads
off to leave the 'rivals' by themselves. They start getting
aggressive about who will win.
Isumi: No, for some reason I will win!!!!!
She then gets whomped by Sakuya with a novelty hammer. XD The
two decided to place a bet on who will win, with Ruka asking for
Hayate's debts to be placed upon her. She tells Nagi that she
loves him.
Meanwhile, Hayate is talking with Maria about heading to
Mikado's place, although Maria notes that it's deep in the
mountains (Hayate thinks how it's like a final boss' castle XD).
Aika shows up, offering to help; when Hayate is surprised at her
sudden appearance, she teases him regarding the previous
shoulder massage. Which gets Ayumu worked-up, too. XD Ayumu asks
Hayate if anything happened with Ruka: he freaks out, dragging
Aika off (she calls him 'darling' XD), and leaving Ayumu fully
aware that something happened, and she may be in 'big trouble'.
Which she is, cos she's late for her first day working for
Wataru. :P

To be as concise as possible about ch.387...
Saw it was a Saki chapter and groaned. Wataru's store is doing
crap, and Saki wants to help. Meanwhile, Aika takes Hayate to
Mikado's place, where ALICE IS WAITING WHAT THE FUCK? o.o Then
Mikado dramatically announces that, before he explains Alice's
presence, they must discuss the Sanzenin family inheritance.
Hayate's phone rings. XD
Basically, the rest of the chapter is the hilarity of Saki's
persistent calling, and chatting not only to Hayate, but to
Mikado. When the old man finally calls off the meeting until the
day after tomorrow, as the moment has passed for a dramatic
talk, Hayate rushes off to deal with Saki. Oh, and Aika can't
make two days' time, as she and her fiance (did we know they
were engaged?) are going on holiday. :P
