Hayate no Gotoku chapter reviews
By: Ashes Date: July 4, 2012, 11:13 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Continuing over, albeit right in the midst of a story, pahaha.
Chapter 368!
Colour title page with Nagi lost in the desert with only panties
on below the waist. ... odd, and my loli senses are tingling. :P
Ayumu is given her key by Nagi, as Ruka appears. Ayumu gets a
little competitive, introducing herself to Ruka and insisting
they use each other's first names. Nagi is astounded as to why
Ayumu is talking down to Ruka. XD
Meanwhile, Hayate and Alice discuss the mysterious barrier, and
Hayate suggests coming up with an excuse for the others, only to
realise he's asking this of a little girl, a ghost and a tiger.
Regiostar thinks there could be something weird, like corpses,
buried in the house, despite he himself being a ghost. Isumi
then BURSTS THROUGH THE WINDOW, stating that the normal route
was busy, and comments on Athena being a little girl. Yozora is
eaves-dropping on the conversation via her dog, and is shocked
to hear that Alice is Athena, only for a BAND to be heard over
her earpiece - the dog falls from its perch in a tree, holed-up
like Kyubey in ep 7, and crumbles into dust as it reaches the
ground. Isumi notes that she's maybe said too much, and removes
the barrier. Regiostar floats through the wall while Tama finds
a revolving door in the wall, but when Regiostar reappears he's
uneasy. Hayate heads through the revolving door... and finds an
ornate coffin that had been in the Royal Garden.
10 Word Summary!
'Ayumu is adorable, while Hayate discovers terrifying secrets.
Yozora spies.'

Chapter 369, part 7 of the 'Mystery Room' story, is pretty
simple.
Hayate recalls the coffin being in the Royal Garden palace, and
how Athena had ordered him not to touch it. Of course, current
Alice doesn't recognise it, and Hayate, abiding by teen-Athena's
orders to act as if he doesn't know of the Royal Garden, says
that he doesn't know what it is either. Regiostar insists they
open it, and Isumi agrees. Hayate and Tama lift the lid to find
it empty, although Isumi notices and picks up a scrap of photo
that blows out from inside. At that point, Yozora shows up with
disguising visor, and when Isumi attacks, she manages to CATCH
THE PAPER-THINGIES and THROW THEM BACK AT ISUMI. Explaining that
the coffin sealed something important away, she then throws a
crystal into the coffin, igniting it. She tells the group that
they will have to put the fire out or the apartment building
will go up in flames, but Isumi rises to continue their fight.
10 Word Summary!
'Coffin contains more photo? And Yozora continues to kick ass.'

Well.
Session timed out on me.
So lemme be brief.
Isumi: GTFO.
Yozora: Don't say things like that in front of a kid! *creepy on
Alice*
Hayate: Stop! *attacks*
Yozora: Paha! *beats him*
Isumi: *throws electrified talismans*
Yozora: *catches, gets the fuck out*
Isumi: Can I stay in this room?
Hayate: Sure.
Tama/Regiostar: Wai-
Hayate: Storage room for you.
Chiharu: I'm home.
Everyone: *doing stuff*
Chiharu: This'll be a fun season.
Isumi: So, Sakuya, everything went well, recognise this picture?
Sakuya: Oh, yeah, that's kid Himegami.
Isumi: Interesting...
10 Word Summary!
'Fight, Yozora winness, Ayumu cuteness, and an epic Himegami
revelation.'

Chapter 371, gonna be quick!
Hayate's finished cleaning up the coffin room, notices a symbol
on the floor with twelve symbols, including that on the
now-destroyed King's Jewel. He ponders if there are others too.
Isumi explains that the coffin likely contained a great power
that was once guarded, but the power escaped, the guardians left
and Yukariko ended up with the house. But it still draws strange
forces even now the power is gone. Nagi then appears, and we see
in sort-of-flashback that Chiharu suggested that Nagi throw a
welcoming party, perhaps as a barbeque.
'Like I can afford a barbeque on the rent you people pay!!'
She then suggests a curry party instead, which Chiharu isn't
impressed by, so Nagi concedes. She's come to Hayate for him to
prep for it. Chiharu decides to accompany Hayate, but wants him
to buy BBQ meat in return. As they shop, Hayate shows his
knowledge of Ruka's dietary habits, as well as Chiharu's love of
peaches, and she soon starts to notice how he enamours himself
to girls (walking at the girl's pace - must remember that one,
lul). She starts to realise how he can have such a following,
and approaches him about it.
Chiharu: If a girl confessed that she loved you, what would you
do?
Hayate: Eh? Hmm. Let's see... First, I would ask her if she
would be willing to be buried in the same grave as me.
Chiharu: That's getting rather heavy.
Chiharu says that girls appreciate the type of stuff Hayate
does, especially when in a bind. Like Ruka, who asks Nagi where
Hayate is. Ayumu, spying, decides this is a good opportunity to
drive a wedge between Hayate and Ruka, and approaches the idol,
asking what's wrong. Ruka asks an astounded Ayumu if, if she
confessed her love to Hayate, he'd become her boyfriend.
10 Word Summary!
'Mysterious house, dashing Hayate, peach-loving Chiharu and
dastardly Ayumu.'

OK, concision is needed...
Chapter 372!
Ayumu loses HP to Ruka cos of the question (I showed to my bro
who's playing Soul Silver, he found it amusing). Quickly
composing herself, Ayumu decides she won't lose Hayate to an
idol who already has everything. She points out that despite all
the varieties of beautiful girl (from little girl to 'mature
woman' (the accompanying Maria pic is irked at that)) living in
the house, he hasn't approached ANY of them in that way. Ruka
suggests jumping straight to a kiss, and Ayumu is 'hit' again
and 'digs her own grave'. Ayumu slaps Ruka, telling her to calm
down, and when Ruka agrees, Ayumu believes she's out of the
firing range for a while.
Then Hayate and Chiharu return. Ruka asks Hayate what he'd do if
a girl confessed her love for him, and of course, Hayate says
that Chiharu already asked him that and he didn't know how to
answer. Ayumu and Ruka read that as 'Chiharu confessed to
Hayate', and are shocked. Ayumu notes that Chiharu is smiling,
but must be hiding pain inside.
Later, at the welcoming BBQ, Chiharu goes to get some meat, only
for Ayumu and Ruka to both hand her their kebabs (/kabobs or
however you guys spell it) and tell her to cheer up.
Also, season 3 starts in October and a 'new development' is in
the next chapter!
10 Word Summary!
'Ayumu deals with love-struck Ruka, while Hayate makes things
confusing.'

Chapter 373, Izumi cover!
The idiot trio are having another after-school study session
when Risa bemoans her lack of popularity. Seems that Hayate had
no birthday present prepared for her the other day; indeed, he
gave Hina and Izumi presents because they had helped him, while
he was still waiting on APOLOGIES from Risa. Conceding, he gave
her a pressed four-leaf clover (is that really wise, Hayate?
Don't you NEED all the luck you can get?). Risa decides that
cute girls are the most popular, and asks Hayate what makes a
girl cute, although he hasn't the faintest clue, being the idiot
he is. Risa then phones Nagi, who says that she studies JUMP and
that the cutest girls blush.
At this point, Miki and Risa deduce that Izumi's blush/"life of
shame" (Izumi repeatedly protests this) comes especially from
one type of shame... panty shots. (Izumi also protests these
being 'shown'. HOW DID I MISS THESE?) Risa decides that they
need to perform an experiment to see if this is true and if she
can use this method to become cuter/more popular. So, she asks
Hayate to lift Izumi's skirt. But of course, if SHE'S the
test-subject, she can't tell how cute she is, now can she?
Izumi, blushing heavily, protests this, saying she'll lift her
own skirt (and does so a bit, not showing much). This is pretty
conclusive - she's adorable, and truly very popular.
Hayate returns home blushing, which Nagi enquires into. Hayate
says it's something that would give the wrong impression to
middle-schoolers.
No real 'new development', but I do wonder if that four-leaf
clover is special? You heard it here first!
10 Word Summary!
'Risa wants to be popular, but Izumi is too cute.'

Quick summary of newest chapter:
Hina comes into school, getting greeted by her admiring
school-mates, while Yukiji slums it up in the night study room.
Kirika comes in, telling Yukiji that she now has to pay rent:
40,000 yen. She remembers that Nagi's apartments cost that, and
include all the perks of accomodation (e.g. butler). She bursts
in on Hayate and Hina as they chat in the student council
offices, and begs for an apartment room. Of course, Hayate notes
that all the rooms - and the storage room - are full. The trio
resolve to clean up the night study room in the hopes that
Kirika will change her mind.
As they work, Hayate finds a pic of a young Yukiji. He notes
that she was cute, like Hina, who gets all blushy. He goes on to
state that the transition disillusions him - how cute girls like
Yukiji once was can become who she is now. After all, when guys
call a girl 'cute', part of it is seeing the potential in them
for positive growth, he says. Hina tells him with fury that
Yukiji is NOT the end-all-be-all of cute girls' destiny, leaving
Hayate a little nervous. He then points out that Yukiji is
holding/playing a guitar in many of the pictures, and Hina notes
that young Yukiji wanted to be a musician.
10 Word Summary!
'Yukiji has to clean up her room. I love Hinagiku.'

Almost forgot the review!
Very quickly...
Flashback of Yukiji going off to sell her guitar, much to young
Hina's surprise/concern. Present Hayate is still intrigued, and
Hina notes that Yukiji never did buy another guitar. She shows a
vid of teen!Yukiji rocking on guitar. Hayate points out that
Hina loves and admires her sister, which Hina gets flustered
about but admits it's true. Yukiji returns, Hina tearfully begs
Yukiji to have another try and being a musician and thanks her
for giving up on it for her. Turns out, in Yukiji's internal
monologue, that it's only partially true - she sold the guitar
for money, cos teaching would give a more stable income, but DID
intend on buying another... she just got too lazy to do so. She
tries to make a statement about dreams being fulfilled by
instead remarks about breasts filling out. I lol'd. :P Hina gets
VERY flustered/angry, Hayate notes how bloody idiotic it was of
Yukiji, and she later shows her clean room to Kirika, who... I
think she basically says OK to the no-rent thing, I can't
remember.
10 Word Summary!
'Hina is flustered, tearful and more flustered. Teenage Yukiji
rocked.'

377.
Nagi's getting far too distracted at home, incapable of actually
working on her doujinshi. Chiharu suggests they go to a family
restaurant, which enthuses Nagi, as it's (as described by
narration), a place where '20% of Japan's literary creations are
thought up'.
They head off, sit down, Chiharu goes to get drinks while Nagi
'thinks of something', and when she comes back, Nagi's perusing
the menu. Since she's now hungry, they order food, and after
eating it, Nagi starts browsing 2ch. Chiharu orders her to stop,
and notices Nagi's PSP in her bag. Nagi continues to excuse
everything, and Chiharu says that a proper mangaka would be
working hard right now...
Except, y'know, the mangaka right there mumbling about getting
it done in 'just a little longer'.
Then, who should they notice by Klaus and Sonia? (she's the nun,
btw) Sonia's trying to sell him a stone full of her prayers,
that'll do a whole load of bullshit things (including
time-travel) that he totally believes. Nagi and Chiharu try to
ignore this, and notice Aika, apparently on a date with a boy.
When her part-hidden date (curse you, plant!) caresses her
cheek, she kisses his hand, flustering (and quite possibly
freaking out) Nagi and Chiharu enough to ruin what little muse
they had. They proceed to play PSP.
10 Word Summary!
'Nagi tries and fails to avoid distraction; unused characters
cameo.'
