[center]Associazione Calcio Firenze Fiorentina[/center]
[center]Fiorentina (pronounced [fjorenˈtiːna]), is an
Italian professional football club based in Florence, Tuscany.
The original team was founded by a merger in August 1926, while
the current club was refounded in August 2002 following
bankruptcy. Fiorentina has won two Italian league titles, in
1955–56 and again in 1968–69, as well as six Coppa Italia
trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana. On the European stage,
Fiorentina won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1960–61. They also
lost five finals, finishing runners-up in the 1956–57 European
Cup (the first Italian team to reach the final in the top
continental competition), the 1961–62 Cup Winners' Cup, the
1989–90 UEFA Cup, and in the 2022–23 and 2023–24 editions of the
UEFA Conference League, being the first club to record two
consecutive final appearances and two consecutive defeats in the
competition's history.
Fiorentina is one of fifteen European teams that have played in
the finals of all three major continental competitions (the
European Cup/Champions League, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the
UEFA Cup/Europa League) and in 2023, by reaching the Europa
Conference League final, Fiorentina became the first team to
reach all four major European club competition finals (excluding
the one-off match of the UEFA Super Cup).
The club finished in 3rd place in the Championship Division
winning promotion to the top flight at the 1st attempt and with
no manager throughout the season, in the last 24 hours the club
have named "Luis Enrique" as new manager after he won promotion
with West Ham Utd.
The new boss has looked around the basic facilities and been
introduced to the playing squad, and inherits a well balanced
team who were 5th highest scorers in the Championship and had
the best defense which should give the manager a good start in
the much tougher top flight. Fans are excited about playing in
the top league and expect the team to battle hard against
relegation.

[center]Since the league season ended last Wednesday its been a
busy time around ACF Fiorentina after fans and club officials
celebrated winning promotion by finishing 3rd in the
Championship.
The club have been working on their plans for their debut season
in the Premier Division, and the fans forum have been posting
that survival, not overspending as the team have a good balanced
squad except that David De Gea needs a replacement as he is now
36 years old and needs challenging for the no 1 jersey.
The Board have indicated that unlike many other clubs they will
not be going out and spending big and signing big name players,
keep the finances balanced and developing from within the club
must be the objectives. Fans will be pleased to hear the club
are looking to build and develop from within the club ranks, and
investment in Training Ground and Youth Academy are seen as a
priority.
Manager "Luis Enrique" has stated he will be developing s 4-3-3
system and that Comuzzo, Dodo, Fortini, Fagioli, Fazzini, Minteh
and Piccoli will be the nucleus of his team with De Gea at
keeper currently until another keeper can be brought in.
It has been leaked that the manager has been give season targets
which are, finishing 10-14th ideally 10th place. Aim for a
Quarter Final cup place and keep the club financial sustainable.
