Today has seen crisis meeting talks at Club Atletico de Madrid
with the Board not happy with the club having won only 1 in 6
games and dropped into the relegation places.
The club have decided to rethink and restructure their approach
to the Premier Division with the Board agreeing to Galacticos
Identity and manager "STEVIE" being given more time and he has
announced new Team Identity approach on the field.
The boss has met his players today in training and started
working on the new Heavy Metal Football approach and play more
attacking football, with the forwards of Griezmann, Alvarez,
Lookman and Gonzalez the boss feels they have the firepower to
punish defenses.
No news on tactical formation as yet but Atletico's midfield
have been playing well and stats show this so with more
attacking football fans should see more from the team.
Last night's 3-0 defeat to leaders Manchester United clearly
showed things were not working and that a different approach to
the game is required.
There are rumors that keeper Jan Oblak will be moved on and
their could be a reshuffling in building a new look defense to
tighten up and allow midfield and attack to play more freely and
bring goals. Watch this space for more Atletico news.....

As reported last night big changes at Atletico Madrid and their
approach to season going forwards, manager "STEVIE" had the
players working through their new formation and tactics today on
the training ground.
The team are setting up with a 3-4-3 for both 1st team and
Atletico Madrileno teams with new tactics so Saturday night will
be big test for both teams.
The 1st team sees Koke and Pablo Barrios called into the
midfield with Kevin De Bruyne dropped to the bench and Andrea
Lookman called into the front three alongside Julian Alvarez and
Antoine Griezmann.
Atletico Madrileno have also switched to new look 3-4-3, with 14
year old Luis Gil coming into defense and 15 year old Daniel
Diaz starting in attack. Mexican Najera who everyone wants to
see is ineligible due to being 23 year old.
The boss has gone for very young lineup and has stated he really
wants to develop the Academy and the younger players.....

[center]After finishing 6th in the Premier Division having drawn
last 4 games but still qualifying for Continental Cup the club
moved and signed "JOSE MOURINHO" as their new manager. The new
boss just led Ajax to runners up in the league and cup and now
takes control of the Spanish giants and looking to build a team
to challenge League Champions Manchester United.
Club President Enrique Cerezo has met with the boss as they
toured around the Wanda Metropolitano stadium and facilities
also meeting with the players and then we understand sat down
and laid out their plans for the coming season.
The club have transfer listed the 1st team squad only keeping
hold of fans favourite Antoine Griezmann, keeper Jan Oblak,
defenders Ruggeri and Le Normand and its clear a new team will
built. The boss has also let slip the club will be adopting the
Gegenpress style of play but did not announce any formation...
Behind the scenes the club have announced work will start on
building the Fans Engagement Area and Sports Science Department,
employing a new Director of Football, Assistant Manager, Fitness
Coach and Scouting staff to make the club more productive.
The club have table transfer bids for Inter Milan players Nico
Barella and Marucs Thuram, Monaco's Thilo Kehrer and Ansu Fati
and Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko...

[center]Pre season has started for the 26 clubs in the Leagues
and Atletico Madrid come off a battling 3-2 pre season friendly
win over arch rivals Real Madrid but not getting carried away.
Atletico were outplayed in possession by the stronger Real
Madrid team but battled hard created same amount of chances on
target with 14 and matched them with their passing game
Goals came from Griezmann, Ruggeri and Lookman with new
midfielder Barella playing a good match with his stats and
taking the man of the match, Gerson came in for much booing from
the fans on a very lacklustre performance.
Head Coach "JOSE MOURINHO" praised his players and seemed very
happy with the performance, he lined his team with a new look
343 formation:
Oblak
Ruggeri Le Normand De Cuyper
Barella Kone Cardoso Gerson
Griezmann Sesko Barcola
Fans seemed happy with the new look formation and lineup, Sesko
and Barcola had good debuts in attack many thought 35 year old
Antoine Griezmann would be shipped out but were learning that
the boss is likely to name him Club Captain for his experience.
Midfield is an area where investment is required to compete with
champions Manchester United who by far have the strongest
midfield in the top flight.
Will the boss look for midfielders?
Due to age restrictions several players have been promoted from
the Atletico Madrileno squad, S_Esquivel is likely to take the
No 1 jersey from Jan Oblak.
Aleksa Puric, Rayane Belaid, R Najera and Koke Mota also now on
the 1st team roster, Marcus Thuram and R Najera have agreed to
go out on loan to Championship Coventry City.
