EDDY ARNOLD, JERRY LEE LEWIS and The CARTER FAMILY are honored
with Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards during a ceremony at Los
Angeles' Biltmore Hotel
2002=
Columbia releases "The Essential JOHNNY CASH." The two-disc set
includes appearances by The CARTER FAMILY, JUNE CARTER CASH,
MARTY ROBBINS, WAYLON JENNINGS, WILLIE NELSON and KRIS
KRISTOFFERSON.
1998=
ALABAMA nets three multi-platinum albums: "Mountain Music" goes
quintuple-platinum, "Roll On" hits quadruple-platinum, and
"Greatest Hits, Volume III" reaches double-platinum
1986=
The Judds grab their second gold album, for "Rockin' With The
Rhythm"
1983=
CRYSTAL GAYLE attains a #1 single in Billboard with the Rodney
Crowell song "'Til I Can Gain Control Again"
1963=
BUCK OWENS records "Act Naturally" at the Capitol Recording
Studios in Hollywood. The session also includes his first
attempt at "My Heart Skips A Beat"

MOE BANDY born in Marion, Mississippi. He thrives as a
honky-tonk singer during the late-1970s and early-'80s, when
crossover music is in vogue. His string of hits includes a load
of cheatin'-themed singles and several good-ol'-boy duets with
Joe Stampley
