Merle has recorded 5 studio versions of "If We Make It Through
December" which I believe is more than any other song of his. He
certainly has re recorded many of his songs, but I believe this
one is the most !
Version 1 - the original first released on "Merle Haggard's
Christmas Present" lp on Capitol 1973 (and same version on "If
We Make It Through December" album on Capitol) 1974
Version 2 - "Goin' Home for Christmas" album on Epic 1982
Version 3 - recorded for a various artist cd called "A Country
Christmas With The Stars Of Nashville" in 1993 produced by Shug
Baggott for Regency Music
Version 4 - released originally in 1994 on "The Legendary Merle
Haggard" Masters 1119. This version has since appeared on many
other Hag releases. It is among 40 re recordings that he did in
1993 & 1994 of his hits.
Version 5 - on the "I Wish I Was Santa Claus" cd. Hag Records
2004

I actually love the Goin Home For Christmas remake best,his
voice sounds so smooth and the music is awesome.I also love
"Daddy Won't Be Home Again For Christmas" the remake version on
Goin Home For Christmas.

The Song Is Great No Matter What Time Of Year It Is. One Of My
Many Favorites By Hag.
