Wrestling thread Royal Rumble to Mania

Well guys what do you think is going to happen Sunday. Is Rock
vs Punk a slam dunk or is it a swerve? I could see this going
several ways but most likely The Rock wins so we can have Cena
vs Rock at Mania. The once in a lifetime match has to be done
again due to the technicalities of the Rumble. Cena wins the
rumble forcing the rematch.
I keep hearing Punk versus Taker for Mania which should be
great. Of course I'd rather see Lesnar vs Taker since they
teased this with heat when he was still with UFC.
Punk keeps the Stone Cold angle alive by mentioning it every
other week. This would really send things over the top for me. I
know it ain't happening.
But here's a few questions. What about Ziggler? Why hasn't he
cashed in the money in the bank yet? This story has gone on too
long and makes him look bad. Why is Show and Del Rio a feud all
of the sudden. How does this factor into Mania? Who will be
world champ at mania? Who will be world champ coming out of
mania? You would think mister money in the bank would be getting
something to do at mana. Does he cash it in tomorrow night over
a bloodied Del Rio? They stuck him with it girl AJ lee and it
hasn't helped. What now? Does he fail to cash it in?
I keep hearing Shaemas vs Orton for the World title. I love
Randy because he is from the STL but frankly I am bored with his
gimmick. I don't really know what to do with him. He wants to go
back to being a heel and I agree this is where he belongs. The
Face turn never made sense to me but this is the WWE so...
The other match I keep hearing is Triple H vs Lesnar. I just
don't have any interest in this. I want to see Lesnar but I want
to see him and Taker or maybe Ryback.
Speaking of Ryback, where is he in all this? He's gotten a good
push whether he deserves it or not and the fans seem to like
him. Who does he wrestle at mania. I had heard maybe Show but
Show is tied up with Del Rio.This might be done by then so it
could happen.
Couple of surprise have been leaked for the rumble Sheldon
Benjamin and Carlito are back. I for one am glad, WWE never used
these guys right. Hard to believe that Cena & Carlito was a
major feud and these guys were on the same level way back in the
day. Benjamin is a solid performer who never got a push in my
opinion, and he is at least as good as Kofi who they don't know
what to do with. Anybody who has the Intercontinental belt is
someone that hey we like but we don't know what to do with so
here you go have this belt.
Miz is on the outside looking in going to mania. I fucking love
him. He is funny, great on the mic, works as heel or a face a
al Jericho. He is never going to be the guy but he is solid
performer. My favorite moment all yeat was the lie detector test
on Punk. It let Punk and him shine on the mic. Plus it played
into the fact that Punk doesn't like the Miz personally. That
could be a good feud if they would go there.
Speaking of Jericho. It is mania time Chris. WE want to see you
vs Zigs. Do it!
What about Kaniel? where are they in mania. They have been
strong all year. But are they still fueding with Rhodes Scholars
by then?
what do you guy think?

We just got done going over our Royal Rumble betting pool for
tonight.
I'd like for Punk to retain tonight. Then lose the belt to Rocky
at Elimination Chamber. Only because we know Cena/Rock needs to
be for the Title for some reason.
Then they could do Rock vs. Cena at Wrestlemania for the Title.
Rock would win; but then Ziggler would come in and take the belt
off of him.
This would set up Ziggler/Rock at Extreme Rules which I'm sure
would be another great match. And cement Ziggler in the main
event scene when he defeats The Rock.
Of course that won't happen. My guess is Rock wins tonight, then
we get Cena/Rock bitching until Mania. Cena will then win the
belt at Mania and give us yet another boring Title reign.

You bring up alot of good points. There are so many ways that
this can play out. They can go with stereotypical Cena winning
forcing the Rock/ Cena wrestlemania rematch. They could also
have The Undertaker win the rumble and pull a Taker/Rock match
at Wrestlemania. What I'm really hoping they do is have C.M.
Punk retain his title, Have Dolph Ziggler win the rumble and
beat Del Rio at Wrestlemania then cash in his MITB titleshot and
win both titles in the same night. I feel like having the Rock
take the title from Punk is kinda a sellout from them. He is the
longest reigning champion in over 20 years and to have that
taken away from someone who has only showed up less than about
10 times since he left the company 8 years ago. Now i'm not
badmouthing the Rock here, I used to be a big fan, but WWE has
been pushing Ziggler for quite a while now and this is the
perfect way to put him over.
As for CM Punk/Austin honestly I don't think we will be seeing
Austin compete again. We he showed up the last time he was in no
shape to compete and I'm pretty sure he's only getting worse.
His knee has been torn up really bad and it seemed he was having
a hard time getting around let alone competing.
If they are talking about bringing Lesnar back I wouldn't mind
seeing him face Undertaker again but then that also means he is
going to lose which defeats any purpose of bringing him back
again. I have always been a huge fan of Lesnar and I would
consider him as one of my favorites but I didn't understand the
point of having him come back and cut all those promos only to
make him look weaker than he ever did before. If they were to
bring him back I also wouldn't mind seeing him feud with Ryback
as long as they can actually pull the match off and not pull a
Lesnar vs Goldberg.
One of my friends had told me that they had a Jericho type promo
run on TNA a few weeks back and may be hinting towards Jericho
returning in TNA. I did not see the promo so I can't really
comment on that, however I do not feel that would be such a bad
idea for him. He was another one that WWE screwed over when they
returned. They had Jericho return but had him lose all his
matches and never really even gave him a push for the title.
Team Hell No I am on the fence about. I think the whole concept
of the Tag Team is stupid, but There are not really any
Legitimate tag teams in the WWE today. I think they seriously
need to rethink their tag team situation and start from scratch.

Jack I think Ziggler can only cash in Money in the Bank for the
World Title not the WWE title. I don't understand why they
haven't had him cash it in yet. Maybe tonite or maybe they are
saving him to have him be the first guy to cash it in at Mania.
I will be really surprised if Punk keeps the belt tonite. I am
hoping we don't see Brad Maddox or the Shield involved. One
rumor I have seen floated is that the Rock is behind the Shield.
This would be revealed tonite and set him up for being a bad guy
at Mania vs Cena. I don't see that happening but them most WWE
decision don't make sense.
The main thing is that they got me to buy the Royal Rumble which
I wouldn't have. Elimination chamber I don't think I'll buy.
I watch TNA. Don't remember seeing any promo about Jericho. I
think Jericho is too smart to jump on that sinking ship. I'd
really love to see Jericho vs Ziggler at Mania.

I was under the impression the Money in the Bank winner could
challenge for either Title. Probably am wrong.
Personally I would love for Jericho to go to TNA. He's my
favorite wrestler of all time (Savage is really close) and WWE
has moved past him. In TNA he could be the man. Matches with
Aries, Styles; and RVD would be amazing. And he'd be a huge
boost to the company if they push him as the top guy.
Can't wait for the Rumble tonight. It's the only PPV I order.

No they changed that. The have two money in the bank matches.
Cena won the WWE one and cashed it in to wrestle Punk and lost.
They needed someone to lose to make it credible and Cena
wouldn't take a hit by losing. Dolph won the World title one and
has yet to cash it in. I kind of expected it tonite. Not sure
what they are doing.
I am hearing Punk vs Taker. Things could change. Loved Jericho
coming out second to Ziggler. I hadn't heard he was back yet.
This should set up Ziggler Jerchio at mania I would think.
Not sure what they are doing with Del Rio but I doubt he comes
out of elimination chamber with the belt. Ziggler has to cash in
the money in the bank before mania is over unless they have
changed that too.
I don't see why they wouldn't want Dolph in main event since he
won it but you never know with Vince.
Great the website I got the Sheldon Benjamin info was totally
wrong. They are usually pretty solid on info.

Good Lord. Jack Swagger vs Alberto Del Rio at Mania? This is a
match I could care less about. Almost makes me want to skip the
whole event. Terrible booking.

Me and Jack are going together and neither one of us are excited
for anything that is announced so far. Could care less about a
Rock/Cena rematch. Didn't want Swagger to win the chamber match
last night. Jericho is still unfortunately going nowhere

I think I'm looking forward to the TNA house show the Friday
before it more. :-\
Especially if they end up having Khali vs. Henry on the card.
Only way that one gets my support is if it's a double retirement
match.
