History of Brainiac

Hey lads,
Throughout my comics reading years I've never really read
Superman or The Legion.
Ergo, I have a hard time following the evolution of Brainiac.
Does anyone know of a good summary anywhere?

Been reading it since the 60's. I grew up on Superman and
Legion. I suggest starting here:
HTML http://www.comicvine.com/brainiac/29-4684/

and here if you want the Legion story:
HTML http://www.comicvine.com/brainiac-5/29-1255/

Here's some info that seems largely forgotten:
HTML http://comiccoverage.typepad.com/comic_coverage/2009/04/which-came-first-brainiac-or-brainiac.html
So Brainiac 5 really was Brainiac's genetic descendant when he
first appeared.
As far as the Comicvine write-up, I'm pretty sure that Brainiac
isn't the origin of the term "brainiac", though I'm sure many
people who use it do so with him in mind ;)

Cool info there JQ! Thanks for the link. I'm actually old enough
to remember when Braniac wasn't just a computer... ;)
