I guess I just don't expect this reboot to last. Like every
other crisis, the effects will be reversed after awhile. All I
was saying is that some things needed changing, for me anyway,
like Supes. He just bored the hell out of me in his own title.
But this total revamp thing was not well thought out at all. It
was pushed through with very little real thought. It shows a
real lack of creativity and writing skills on the part of DC
comics in general. Like Titan alluded to on Facebook, Crisis on
Infinite Earths was a well conceived, well written storyline
that kept everyone riveted for its entire length. I was not
happy with the out come at the time - I loved Supergirl
(childhood crush). But you could not argue with how well the
entire arc flowed. Some of the aftermath may have been
questionable, but that is not important. Flashpoint was just
plain horrible. Poorly conceived, horribly written, and
completely vague at best. And the current DC universe is in awry
because of it. I am doing my best to glean what I like out of it
thought. Maybe I'm just getting OLD and sentimental, but I grew
up with these comics, only just got back into them about 10
years ago, and am loth to give them up that soon. I will
continue to read what I like and ignore the rest. It will all go
       away, or reset, soon enough.

I wasn't really following any DC titles anyway, but the reboot
was a spit in the face. I fucking hate it. You could not pay
me to read any DC title now.
Saying that, I fully realize that everything isn't about me and
what I like, but I'm allowed an opinion, and I hate, HATE, HATE
what DC did. I feel like it was a pussy reboot. They should
have gathered their balls up into their spines, wrapped up every
single story arc, and then started everything over again
       beginning with character's origins.

I like the soap opera 40 years long continuity where I had to
know everything. I was reading more Bat-Books before the reboot
than after. I'm reading virtually no DCU books with the
exception of Superman and occasionally Titans. Inc's one of the
real pleasures because Morrison cares pretty little for dealing
with the new 52 in terms of the grand scale project he started 5
       years ago now.

I've been reading DC Comics for 32 years. For the first 31, I
bought multiple, if not all DC mainstream titles and filled over
60 long boxes full of comics that I still love to reread
regularly. Over the last year I have dropped all but a minute
few titles and don't really like those all that much, barely
filling a half-box. Characters that I have grown up with are
unrecognizable in both look and personality. A history that I
loved has no meaning in current stories. Where I was once
looking forward to the day when I could sit with my sons and
share new comics, now I feel somewhat embarassed looking at the
shelves with my wife and friends, let alone with my kids. It's
sad that comics can no longer be the escape they used to be.
Now they make the evening news seem tame.

Aquaman - he's actually tough!!! They make him cool in this
incarnation. And Mera! Wow, what's not to like?

No hate for you, but this sentiment, which is prevalent out
there, really bugs the crap out of me. It's like Peter David
never existed. And there have been plenty of other writers who
did a great job with Aquaman -- Steve Skeates, Jack Miller,
       David Michelinie ...
       I'm sure it's enjoyable, and maybe I'll read it sometime -- I
read the first few issues but wasn't in the mood for the
heavy-handed Johnsification -- but people act like nothing good
was ever done with Aquaman before.

Loved Peter David's run. What bugs me most is that most are
saying the new series could have still happened without the
       fucking reboot.

Sorry, didn't mean to dis Peter David. I love alot of his work.
Supergirl (Matrix) was one of my favorites. It's just that I am
a huge Aquaman fan and I really hate what they had done to the
character over the last decade. And I agree with what TF says
       about this current series.
I've had a feeling that we will see another "crisis" in this
next year. Marvel overtaking DC probably has the execs worried.
And that usually leads to a shake up of some kind. With any
luck, it would be a giant reset. Looking at DC sales last month,
their top sellers were Batman, Justice League, Green Lantern,
Batgirl, and Batman and Robin. (Noticing a trend here.) Batman
nor GL changed all that much during the new 52. It would be easy
to revert them along with the rest of the DCU. Guess we will
       have to wait and see.
