Board Ideas.

Yay. Talking to myself. :D Figured I'd set up a thread for the 4
of us to discuss board ideas and such.
To catch Burn up, we've decided that alot of the problems with
traffic on other boards is that there are too many sub boards.
So in an effort to make this board move a little faster we've
cut it down to four boards for now. General discussion where we
can discuss anything we want. Then a board for toys, another
board for comics; and of course a customizing board.
Obviously all the board names are generic at the moment, so
we'll need to come up with new ones.
The only rule I can really think of for this board is the old
standard, No personal attacks on members. Unlike other boards
we've been on however, we just want to outright ban people that
REALLY don't fit in. People that do nothing but act as trolls
starting fights should just be booted out.
As a community we used to be able to openly discuss anything and
everything on the boards. Whether it's our families, random
events in our lives, toys, etc. And I'd like to get that back by
keeping the tone here civil. Obviously you can curse whenever
the fuck you want and this place doesn't need to remain
exclusively work safe. But after being friends with one another
for almost six years, there's no need or want to be at one
another's throats. And people that crave that sort of drama
should look elsewhere. That cool with everyone?

I think the hardest thing is to prevent going over old ground ad
nauseum. I mean how many times can we do the "The death of DCUC
is upon us" and "what DCUC figs do you still want" threads fifty
different ways?
On the flipside, I love the idea of a "What comic did you just
read?" kinda thing but people seem to be reading less titles
than ever before (please don't use that as a cue to whine about
DCNu).

One idea I had was a "Toyline of the Month" thread much like we
do the "Avatar of the Month" on AFB. If it were say "M.A.S.K",
then it's a thread entirely devoted to the topic for the month
and we talk about our memories of the line, what we liked,
didn't like, what toys we had, still have, secondary market
prices, what we'd like to see on the shelves again, etc, etc.
Next month something else.
