So has everyone seen it yet? If so what did you think? I gotta
say I was plesently surprised. I was expecting it to be bad
after reading Mark Waid's review. Maybe I should go into all
the DC movies expecting the worst.

I didn't like it at all. Too many overly convenient plot points.
Lois just happens to go to Antarctica, then she just happens to
be looking through binoculars at night when Superman just
happens to be walking by... Very lazy writing imo. Also didn't
like her finding out he was Superman right off the bat. I like
the Lois/Clark dynamic at the Planet.
Also the whole it takes Clark about 8 years to start developing
powers, but the other Kryptonians apparently get them instantly
even though they're in some sort of protective suits b.s. It was
only made worse when Zod gets his helmet knocked off and he's
acting surprised when he starts instantly developing the same
powers Faora and Non already have. Why did it take so long for
him to get the powers anyway?
And then there was the stupid utter destruction of Metropolis.
I'd think a real hero like Superman would drag the fight into
outer space or something. But in this movie he just knocks down
buildings and doesn't care how many people die. Things explode,
he don't seem to give a ****. Must fight Zod! Must save Lois!
Really don't see how ANYONE in Metropolis would see him as a
hero after that. It's not like he'd been protecting them for
years and then this happened. He was pretty much the cause of
       the entire city getting destroyed.
The ending with Superman's "dilemma" over whether or not to kill
Zod also seemed force in this version of the story. Not to
mention, his "Nooo!" afterward as if Zod was his best friend he
was just forced to kill or something.
       So yeah... didn't like it.

The over the top fight scenes were typical Snyder. It was
grotesque, but it was still so much better to me than the last
few dc movies combined. I liked Lois being on his trail and
finding out his identity. I just really think it hurts her
charactet of a smart competent reporter to be fooled by a pair
of glasses. You raise a lot of interesting points though. I
really didn't have a problem withZod dying at all. He was a
product of genetic engineering and would never be able to
overcome his programming. I think Clark's scream was mor a
scream of anguish of what he had to do and not a personal
feeling of loss over the person killed.

It just didn't make much sense to me. They just sent the other
Kryptonians into the Phantom Zone, probably killing them; so why
all the fuss over killing Zod? He was killing people left and
right. I mean, poor Clark. Had to kill that mass-murdering
       psycho. ::)
Personally I had no problem with Superman killing him. Just the
wishy washy way he acted about doing it.
And I didn't find the fight scenes so over the top in Watchmen.
In that the over the top violence suited the source material.
Superman not seeming to care about the civilians being lost
       while demolishing Metropolis didn't.
I didn't like the last two DC films either. Green Lantern was
**** and TDKR was okay at best. Think the last DC movie I liked
       was Watchmen.

Watcmen fell a little flat to me. I just didn't think it
translated well enough. The last DC movie I really enjoyef
before MOS was The Dark Knight. I was thinking the other day it
would be kinda cool if they connected Arrow with MOS. I mean
Marvel's doing it with their movie and tv-verse.
