Behind the DM Screen Empire of Ergoth

The Empire of Ergoth is a setting that I am opening up. Several
Story threads will be happening here to open the world a bit
more.
I am a huge fan of the Ergoth Trilogy of novels and wish to
bring the Empire into the modern age of the Age of Mortals.
I recently bought a Palanthas sourcebook. Ed Greenwood has
always had my respect for building his cities that everyone
loves and always come back to. It is my hope to work to bring
the Empire to life.
Empire of Ergoth is very much an experimental I've never focused
a game in Northern Ergoth and got into the complexities that
show up in this kind of setting. It will allow me to tell some
different kinds of gaming and storytelling.
More mature stories-
Gladiators
Political Intrigue
Bards from the Bard's College
The Wizard Chapterhouse in the Imperial City
Thieves running around in the night
The wizardess Las has a house in Gwynned
Her Aunt is Wydara, a owner and trainer of he own Gladiator
school in the Imperial City.
Goal is to build this City out as a viable place run games.

Behind the DM Screen: Las in Ergoth

Coming back on to announce a new story called Las in Ergoth.
Las can't go with her Husband and Sister to the Dragon Isles as
she has a wee one and she is watching over her younger siblings
Daera and her brother Sator,45 and 40 respectively. Not kids,
not adults. Elven teenagers in effect. They are relatively
recent creations. I was aware of their birth dates, but we have
only recently got their names and a sense of who these
characters are. Looking forward to find out who they are and
what they are made of.
This is a unique position Las finds herself in. She wishes she
could go, but has responsibilities, greater then herself. It was
a thing she wrestled with herself about. She never expected to
be a Mother, but she has found it rewarding thus far. Now when
she is needed, she is needed by her child more. So Las is going
to raise her siblings until her Dad brings them home. But she
wonders if maybe they should stay for a while.
Also I get to play with two really great characters in Mikal and
Tripp from the Dragon Isles Novel
Also got to bring in Wydara and establish her relationship with
Marilee and Las
My Ergoth project is going to be a lot of work.
So I will post when I have something, but I am planning and
plotting and writing for the most part. I know I have several
stories hanging on cliffhangers, I will address everything in
time.

Greetings. Sorry I have not been posting much in the last couple
of days. Been plotting and planning stories. I feel like the
final puzzle pieces fell into the place in the recent Windrider
and Hierophant of Chislev
Just to comment on the Porthios-Talidaar. Me personally I agree
with Porthios that Qualinesti is for Elves. But the Stonetellers
trilogy really gums up the works. I have spent hours trying to
figure this out. Talidaar's compromise takes the Stonetellers
trilogy into account. I don't like it, but I will try to make it
work.
Going to talk about some of my favorite things about the stories
thus far.
I like that so much of the Talidaar stories are about Family.
Las is one of my favorite characters in the stories, she always
has been.
My advice is don't sleep on some of these secondary stories.
They are there to supplement and define things that was not
covered in the main stories.
The Black Brood story gives some context to the adversaries
threatening Talidaar and his family.
The Lord of Night deals with the Giant attack on the Dark Knight
Army that the Wildrunners were apart of in Nearka.
and finally Las in Ergoth serves as a spiritual prelude to the
Return to the Dragon Isles

Behind the DM Screen Thoughts this Morning

I have been slowly dipping my toe in to writing Wydara Blood and
Circuses thus far. Though there is a fair amount of information
on the City of Gwynned, it just is not enough. So there is a lot
of heavy lifting that needs to done. Chapter three I think we
will get into the characters of the first Four Gladiators and I
will work out the other eight over time. We who have seen
Spartacus know that blood and gore is coming. My goal is to get
us to care.
I think the MVP's over the last couple of days is Saida in
Wildrunner, and the Queen of the Elves herself Queen Kerianseray
the Lioness.
Runner ups are Subcommander Hythanas Ambrodel, General Damara
Ambrodel and Lashia Ambrodel Arbagon
Also I want to address doing the Portal instead of turning the
elves and the griffons into handkerchiefs, collecting them all
up and teleporting and then turning them back into Elves ad
Griffons. Its what we did in the old days, but here I felt that
Lashia is in good enough standing in her order to ask for a
favor and Wayreth is right there, hence is why I went with the
Portal.

Just laying down a marker.
Warrior is a thing that may go somewhere in the future, and may
not.
He is not one of Wydara's, but I'm sure their paths will cross
sometime, they are in the same business after all.
He is going to be there in the background, waiting for his
moment.
This is a plot line that is just going to hang out there,
because if he gets his way, he will change everything.
He is Hannibal, Genghis Khan, Spartacus in the making. That
which not kill you, makes you stronger.
This will be a bloody tale ether way.

Thick as Thieves

Got Oblivion Elder Scrolls vibes when I was writing. Like I was
in the Imperial City trying to get away from a job. As I go
along I will start getting streets and Building placement in
order, and districts for that matter.
The term means very close friends. I co-opted the metaphor and
mixed it with blood is thicker than water. So Thick as Thieves.
As far as Father and Daughter go, they are close friends as well
as business partners. Taim had to fake his death in Abanasinia
because the guild war in New Ports boiled over.
His bad luck has followed him across the Straits of Algoni to
Northern Ergoth. Playing fast and loose with the Guild is never
a good way to go. We will see if they can make amends or find
out the Guild has put a price on their heads.
Will explore the Imperial City nightlife and the colorful rogue
characters that all try to stay one step ahead of the law.
