Chapter Nine: Cluster ****

East Central Ansalon,
Khur
Khuri-Khan, the Capital of Khur

Ten Minutes before-
The Inciting Moment. A fire at the Garrison erupts. The Dark
Knights are forced outside of their Quarters as the Garrison
burns. Some random rocks are thrown at the Dark Knights from
somewhere in the crowd. The wrong person is pushed, the wrong
person to pushed into another, and the domino effect cascades to
a pushing match with the Dark Knight. Some people are crushed.
The knights fight back to save themselves as the garrison burns
behind them. The city erupts into a frenzy. Dark Knights are
pushed out of the city and bar the gates, while some of the
Knights of the garrison fight their way to the Temple of
Torghanis (Sargonnas)
A Thousand Dark Knights, led by Hengriff remain in the city.
Present
115°f decrees
The scene outside of Walls of Khuri-Kahn-
Companies of Dark Knights that were pushed out of the city form
up behind the Skull Knight.
The Blue Dragon Durox flies back to Khuri-Khan, and Lydia makes
mental contact with him.
The Blue Dragon tells the Skull Knight what he saw on his recon.
He then tells Lydia about the second army in the desert coming
to Khuri-Khan.
Skull knight Lydia Ravenheart knows a few things about Khurish
politics. She considers what she knows and works through the
situation. Any one of these things could happen in a week. They
all conceivably could all happen on the same day.
But they are all happening at once, this is a response to our
build-up. It has elven fingerprints without having any
fingerprints. She notices more aligned chromatic dragons in
flight in the skies. They are trying to checkmate us without
facing us directly.
She wonders if Hengriff is still alive. She takes command of the
incoming companies and directs them in a formation.
She calls to Terrex but she does not read him in the chaos
inside the city. She calls to Durox and asks him to land.

Chapter Ten: Lord Hengriff
A new terrifying villain is born [/center]
East Central Ansalon,
Khur
Khuri-Khan, the Capital of Khur
108°f decrees
Temple of Torghanis (Sargonnas)
Hengriff lies dying. Stabbed in the side. Bleeding out. He
doesn’t remember being stabbed.
So many of his men are dead.
The rage he feels. He was going to conquer the Elves, now he’s
dying in craphole city in the middle of the desert.
He vaguely hears the yelling of the multitude outside. Surely
the Khan will regain control soon…..
He drifts in and out of consciousness, he feels the End
coming…..
“I have a use for one such as you. Swear your undying loyalty to
me and be a Fist of Vengeance for me.”
Hengriff knows this is not Takhisis…..She’s dead….”Sargonnas?”
“What is your answer? quickly, you are about to expire.” The
God of Dark Vengeance asks a final time.
“I swear by everything,” Hengriff says
“Swear to Me”
“Sargonnas”
Hengriff dies.
“Rise Lord Hengriff, your work is not finished yet. Now you need
to calm the masses.”
Flame fires behind the eyes of the being once known as Hengriff.
The Death Knight rises from the floor of the Temple.
Lord Hengriff walks out of the Temple and casts a destructive
flame over the head of the rioters. He continues to walk toward
them. He grabs one and throws him over the multitude's heads.
He looks at one and says Die.
The Man drops dead.
The Masses back away.
A Deep soulless voice says “Go home or I will kill you all.”

Chapter Eleven: Draconians !?! [/center]
East Central Ansalon,
Khur
Khuri-Khan, the Capital of Khur
115°f decrees
The Blue Dragon Durox lands outside Khuri-Khan near the Skull
Guardian. Lydia tells the Subcommander, “Continue getting the
men into formation, I’m taking a look at the second army. I’ll
be back.”
“Alright Durox, let us look at that other army.” The Blue rises
and flies toward the second army.
Lydia gets her first look at the composition of the First Army.
Horsemen, A lot of swordsmen.
“Let’s see the Second Army,” Lydia calls out.
The Second Army is Draconians!?!
Back at Khuri-Khan, the gates open and Dark Knights file out of
the Capital, soon The Death Knight also walks through the gates.
He walks to the Subcommander and asks who is in charge here. The
Subcommander tells him that “Lydia Ravenheart just left to scout
the armies that are marching on Khurri-Khan. She was in command,
but I think you are in command now, sir.”
The Undead Lord tells the Subcommander they are marching to the
Black Fort.
“Sir that Fort was abandoned months ago-.” He stops, then says,
“Sir, yes sir. Men, ahead march.”
The 4,500 men start marching to the Black Fort. It will just be
a race of who gets there first, army one or the Dark Knights.

Chapter Twelve: Run[/center]
East Central Ansalon,
Khur
Khuri-Khan, the Capital of Khur
115°f decrees
Skull Knight Lydia Ravenheart is mounted upon the back of Durox,
a Blue Dragon that usually serves another in the Talon, but
Ravenheart’s Mount has gone rogue and has become Two-legged. He
has deserted the Skull Guardian in her time of need. He has
offered his services to her for the time being.
Lydia looks down to see the Dark Knights in a full run behind
General Hengriff. In full armor, what the hell is going on? It
is like she watching a miracle in action. The Knights are
stealing the march on the incoming Army. The Knights are going
to beat them to the Black Fort.
And so it is, the God Sargonnas has given a blessing to this
army. He has given them Haste, and they Run.

Chapter Thirteen: Dragon Attack[/center]
The Burning Sands of Khur
The Dragon known as Terrex, the Mount of Lydia Ravenheart, has
indeed polymorphed into a Human form. He dressed in tattered
Black Robes and a hood. He was caught by surprise, but was
transfixed by the Garrison going up and the Riot beginning.
This outburst of violent expression was quite exciting to
witness, never mind that he was watching the populace turn on
the Knights of Neraka. It seems his plan to catch his Rider in a
trap has gone sideways, and he will have to alter his plans. He
has already felt her calling to him, and he has so far resisted.
If he does not catch her, he will get written up and suspended
from working with the Knighthood. He is right, she will betray
the Knighthood.
Terrex decides he has stayed in this form too long, the human’s
stench has gotten on me. He leaves with the last of the Knights
and walks behind a dune, and changes into his Dragon form. He
climbs into the air to get the stench off of him. He follows
the Army and notes their speed. He turns away as he sees his
Rider on the back of Durex, one of the other Blues.
He leaves the area and thinks about a new plan of attack.
Meanwhile, at the Black Fort,
Thousands of Dar Knights are in formation outside the Black Fort
Durox lands, and Lydia tells him to stay until she returns. She
enters the Fort to find troops moving to the battlements.
Everyone seems to be in a weird trance. She asks, "Where is
Hengriff?"
One Trooper stops and directs her to The General. She finds him
in the stateroom looking out towards the oncoming Army.
“General Hengriff sir? It’s Lydia Ravenheart, Guardian of the
Skull.”
In a cold voice that sounds like it came from the Abyss, “I
remember you, Guardian. What do you have to report?”
Lydia is unnerved by the voice but stands where she is. “I have
identified the second army are Draconians.”
“We will deal with the Draconians when they arrive, for now, I
am going to smash this Tribe out there that is coming. I want
the Dragons to begin their attacks. Kill them, drive them from
the area.”
“Yes sir.” She says, but she knows this will come back and bite
them. It may be the smart thing, but any support they had will
go away. She turns on her heel and walks out of the State Room,
already feeling better because she is not in Hengriff’s
presence. And the voice. Something happened at Khurri-Khan. That
is not the same man that she talked to earlier in the day.
She walks out to the Dragons and Riders. “The General wants us
to send these dogs to run home. We are going to send them
there!”. She climbs on Durox’s back. And says to the Riders,
follow my hand signals.” Then Lydia asks Durox if he has “seen
his Rider yet?”
The Dragon Durox answers that he has not, “What do you think
that means?”
“It means we will sneak back in Khurri-Khan and see if he has
been left behind. I don’t know that we will find alive.”
She signals to the Riders to take off.
She clips in, and she pats his back, and he begins moving and
takes off into the sky and joins the others.
The Army stops; they know what is coming. They break and try to
find cover.
The Blues Dragons come, and lightning erupts from their jaws.
How swaths of the Army have been felled.
She brings the Dragons in closer to the ground this time. The
Dragon Fear washes over the Army, and a third of them run for
it. Others are too scared to run, they are stuck in place,
locked in fear.
The First Army is nearly routed. The Dragon Rider pushes the
attack until it is broken and on the run.

Chapter Fourteen: New Orders [/center]
Eastern Ansalon
Khur
The Black Fort
Two days pass before Lord Hengriff calls for Skull Knight Lydia
Raven to join him. The feeling of dread fills her as she walks
to the room he has claimed as his war room.
She finds that he is waiting on her. “Reporting as ordered sir.
The Draconian Army has withdrawn from the field. The Khur Tribal
Army has been routed. We have complete control of the
perimeter.” She reports.
“The Draconians will have to be found and beat into submission.
But that is no longer your concern.
“Sir?”
You will recall I thought you make a good candidate to go into
the Elven Valley. I want you to infiltrate the Valley and bring
me back the information I want. We march tomorrow to take
Fortress at Tur. When we that is accomplished, I will prepare
the plan to insert you once into the Elven Lands. That will be
all Subcommander."
Subcommander Lydia Ravenheart salutes and spins on her heel and
departs the War Room the way she came.
Moments later,
the Human Form of Terrex enters the Death Knights War room and
asks if the General will be "needing anything else this
evening?"
"No" Comes the reply from Hengriff, "You have given me much to
consider, thank you for you insights into the Skull Knight."
"I do think its better this way, less chance she will know what
we are about." Terrex the Blue says before leaving.

Chapter Fifteen: The Burning Sands [/center]
Eastern Ansalon
Khur
The Burning Sands
The Black Fort
A hundred thousand thoughts are racing through Lydia’s mind. The
meeting felt different. Ominous even. She had no idea what came
next.
She is called to a meeting, and she begins walking, her thoughts
racing again. Around the corner, and begins walking up the
steps. Before she reaches the War Room...
She is knocked unconscious
Her thoughts swirl
She vaguely hears that she has been condemned for treachery…
Something about her Dragon
The flapping of wings...
Her hood is removed -The Blinding Light
Lying on the Burning Sands without her Armor or Weapons
Distantly she can see that army is on the move, North from the
Black Fort. Dragons Flying over the Army.
A beam of light energy blasts through the Black Fort from the
south. Another beam of Energy fires and strikes a Blue Dragon in
flight. The Rider and Dragon crash to the ground.
Terrex had assumed Human Form, dressed in a Blue Robe. A moment
ago, he was approaching, but he is alert to the new danger. They
both hear movement over the hill.
Undead ogres and goblins crest the hill, walking toward them.
Lydia starts crawling backward and tries to get up.
More and more undead are behind those undead.
Terrex decides he cannot confront them in Human Form. He changes
to his Blue Dragon form. Lydia starts running to him.
"You are not going to let me die to the Undead are you Terrex? I
don't know what game you are playing, what you were about to do,
but this isn't it".
"I'm adaptable."
Lydia screams TERREX!!!! into his mind. He stops and lowers
down, and offers his back to her. She readily runs and climbs on
board his back. His tail swats the Undead trying to grab at his
wings, but they fall away as he climbs into the air.
A Beam of Energy burns into Terrex, just missing her leg. It
burned through him and into one of his wings.
They glide away as his wing smolders. until he crashes.
