New Volume, New Month October 01, 2023
Behind the DM's Screen Vol. V
       Post One
A New Board opened up. This will house the stories of the Gods
that I can't find a place for elsewhere. This will allow me to
do some behind-the-scenes things when I want to show it. It also
indicates something coming on the horizon.
I read through the 2e Druid Handbook the other day for the first
time in years and got interesting insight, also got a Druid
spell list online for 2e. Thank you very much.

So, he is about to bring it. If it does not come out tonight, it
       will be out tomorrow.
We are going to see how far the attack is going to go.
Post Two 10/01//23 Expanding the Playing Board and the Canvas
You may have noticed the new Sections that are thus far blank
but will not remain so for long.
A couple new Stories are coming down range. One about the
Children of Takhisis and how they share a unique dark bond.
(Nothing Icky) I'm 90% done with it and will post it
tomorrow.-Its Posted. It is called the Children of the Dragon
Queen. How interesting it feels writing those words after so
       long.
I will say this about Zebolim, I don't love her look as depicted
on the Cover the Second Novel of Dark Disciple. Perhaps that is
her real appearance, but I always thought she had had a darker
hair color. That girl on the cover looks like she is with the
       Pantheon of Good.
Look for the Ethereal Sea and you will see three areas that
according to Krynnish Cosmology contains the Dome of Creation,
the Hidden Vale, and the Abyss
       Coming Up.
       The Battle of Lioness Creek
The Chromatic Dragon is an imminent threat.
Hierophant Druid, the priests, and Wizards. Dalamar
       Karnea?
It’s the Calm before the Storm
I'm awake and just taking a look at how things are set up.
At the cusp of a lot of things happening in succession. Deciding
when to pull the pin and let it all drop. Things are going to
get worse before they get better.
Going to prepare some things. If they don't drop tonight, they
will appear tomorrow. Will Get some battle out and will go over
to the Northern Ergoth and Southern Ergoth here soon.

       Post Three 10/03/23
Working on Wydara Chapter 11. It’s not ready yet. But I kind of
want to write 11 before Lashia comes in in Return to the Dragon
       Isles.
Sorry I am slow walking the return of the Dragons, but time is
relative to what I am doing in Northern Khur.
New Chapter of Wildrunners we are going to meet Special Group
       One.
The Next Chapter of Hierophant is coming and that is Part One of
       the Battle of Lioness Creek.
Otherlands is named after the AD&D Dragonlance Product that
detailed some of the other lands of Krynn, such as the Spine of
Taladas,Amesh's Rent in Chorane, and the Undersea Kingdom of
       Watermere.
I am using this Board as a vehicle to tell some stories off of
       Ansalon.
The Other New Board is The Ethereal Sea, containing the lands of
the Gods of Krynn. In the Abyss, the story of the Children of
Takhisis. This is going to be an interesting story as we think
we see Nuitari running mental circles around his sister Zebolim,
but is that really what is going on? It will be something
Nuitari will be asking himself in the future. My interpretation
is she is playing dumb for him to feel smarter and miss what was
       really happening.
With this story I am delving into the demigod situation,
specifically the other Children of Takhisis, such as Arthra for
instance. Now I think I recall something happening relating to
Arthra in one of the Age of Morals Games. I will go and look
       that up.
I have researched large swaths of history and one thing out of
Ancient Greece that fascinated me was the Cults dedicated to
great figures, for instance Ἡρακλ or
rather Hercules, and the Cults' role in elevating this figure
long after death, spreading the name and his deeds until it
enters into the accepted myths alongside other mythic titans and
       gods.
The Gods are fixed. We have lost three and gained one. Paladine,
Takhisis, and Zivilyn are currently dead or Mortal. Mina is
Neutral Good and Neutral Evil. Otherwise, there is not a lot of
       Drama.
But the demigods are a different matter altogether. I am going
to explore these concepts as time goes on.
I am not a DLS4 apologist, I do not like the idea of the
Deathdark, or the Spider/Dragon, but I did like the concept of
the Handmaiden trying to reach beyond her station, and though
she is denounced as a Lolth Clone, I did like things about
Jiathuli. and would have liked to have seen it handled by a good
writer to try to tackle a good story.
It would be satisfying for the other Gods to slap her down as
she is trying to reach out and be one of them. So, I am going to
see what can be done with her. Did she get changed to a Devil in
3.5? I have to look at that. Even so, to my earlier point, it is
an exclusive club. They are not many, but more than you think.
A Note about Ogre Titans. I have forgotten a few things in the
15 years I stopped playing and reading. Forgot about Hengriff,
kind of screwed up the order of the Minotaur Civil War, and now
screwed up the Ogre Titan Trilogy. I am like a bull in the china
shop. For those of you who have read the Ogre Titan Trilogy, I
ask that you suspend your knowledge for a time.I am using the
Titans a couple of years outside of their shelf life. I have not
had the opportunity to read these novels yet. The last two books
are unavailable and one of the books is $34.00. Just insane. I
don't know if I will ever get to read the books.
part one is up in the Royal Court of Gilthas Kanan. Part Two
will come in the Hierophant of Chislev, Things are about to get
       brutal.
Just deciding how things are going down and how much damage is
coming. I've not used this powerful of antagonists before,
magically speaking. Not sure exactly how it alters the playing
       field. So, stuff is coming.
       Post Four Writing the Battle
Okay, I am part three into the battle. It is scary to fight
against Ogre Titans and Ogres at the same time.
I am going to work some more on the battle and prepare to cue
the Chromatic dragons to come in when the sandstorm lifts.
A Wydara Story is in the process of being worked on. I see if
that can come out soon. Maybe a Chosen of Reorx.
I am going to escalate the situation in Northern Khur.
Things are going to start falling into place.
I ordered Book One and Two of the Rise of Solamnia Trilogy.
These will be replacement books I used to have. I have Book
       Three.
Next after that is a replacement copy of Dragons of Summer Flame
More Battle for Northern Khur is coming.
Post Five Day of Doom (Dragons unleashed)
I Posted the Dragon Attack on the Ogre-Titans and Inath-Wakenti
Elven Refuge in Knight of the Black Lilly and in The Hierophant.
I posted in both so when I post the next Story I will know where
we are at in the story.
I tweaked the cloudscape spell in that story.
I don't know if I addressed this already. I have not had a
chance to read the Ogre-Titan Trilogy. I always thought the
story happens later in the timeline, so that is another change I
       am making.
I am not sure where the name for the High Ogre became the
Kolshet, maybe the Ogre-Titan Novels, or the Irda Novel. I don't
       know, but I love it.
I have been rereading the Irda Novel recently
I have noticed there getting to be a drought on some Dragonlance
Novels in some of the Online stores
I Don't know if I mentioned this, Both of these are items I
owned before in physical copies, But I got the Ravenloft
Original Lands of Terror Boxed set on PDF, along with the first
Ravenloft Monster Appendix. So, one of these days down the road
a Ravenloft story may come to the boards one of these days.

       Post Six
I won't spend a lot of time on this message, I'm currently
writing The Elven Side of the Day of Doom in the Hierophant.
Other views will come sometime soon. The view for Rian, the
experiences of the Royal Court of Gilthas.
I will detail the Dragons' presence eventually.
More Children of the Dragon Queen
I think I know these Dark Gods a bit better than the Gods of
Good. They did not get much page count. Having a Category like
the Ethereal Sea is going to allow some great storytelling
possibilities rather than having the gods interfere all the time
       on Krynn.
End Return to the Dragon Isles Book II as they have returned
       there and returned back now.
From the ashes, A new story will appear headed by Talidaar's
wife Lashia as she is heading on the mission to Foghaven, and
then to Inath Wakenti. Provided that goes okay, she is going to
go into battle on one of the Dragons as Lashia is a lifelong
Royal Griffon rider, A Wizardess Windrider, so yeah, I wanted
her to say goodbye to her kids just in case anything bad
happens. It could well be her last hurrah.
There is so much more I wanted to do and maybe that is okay
because there is always Book Three one of these days, and maybe
then I will get to do everything I want to do.
And one of these Days I will adapt Book One where Las and
Marilee went the first time and met Mikal, and Trip, and
Shimmer. I have to adapt it before it sees the light of day.
I planned the meeting with Daera, her black eye, and Lashia all
that time ago. So crazy to write the payoff for that finally.
       Post Seven Some thoughts 10/6/23
Also, the payoff of Daera training and impressing everybody,
       especially Sator, Marilee and Lashia.
And I loved writing that line about how everything was okay in
the Universe because of their hug.
I Forgot, loved the ride over. Lashia holding it together and
       Las ducking the blame.
So, some of the Metallics are in the Valley, we will see how
this turns out. It’s not enough to start a fight
       Post Eight
I just laid my eyes on a story that is coming from some
messaging back and forth with the player of Karnea. I sent my
part of the story to him to look over and see how Karnea would
react and got back an exact what I wanted from him. Perfect. I
should have been doing this all along. This is the synergy I
       have been dying for.
       Post Nine 10/07/23
Okay, sorry, I have been marveling at this Karnea story all
evening. I sent him bones of the scene. The very fact they were
meeting, Azura's back story, and two basic questions. What does
Karnea expect of Azura as her apprentice? What does she want her
       to do now?
Believe me when I say I am so happy with what I got back.
       Perfect.
I have been trying to warm Adam up to the idea of Karnea taking
on a new Apprentice since nearly the beginning of Book II by
just floating the idea. Then I drew attention to her at the
Gathering, and have just been working her through the story in
the background, then I sent a sent video of this exotic-looking
girl reacting to one of one of the worst Kiss songs ever, but
she is kind of my model for Azura. So, he saw the video, the
       video is laugh-out-loud hilarious.
I sent him a message about my general plans for Azura going
forward during the reign of Karnea and now sending him the
Story, entitled Azura, which is the context of what it took for
him to warm up to the idea.
So, this is a big deal that Karnea has decided to take her on.
But in this DM's eyes, this opens up the possibilities of
different role-playing moments, background stuff, foreground
stuff, instruction, building trust, and the potential for Azura
to grow before our eyes. It’s a complete win today.
Also, I want Daera and Lashia to talk some more before she sets
       out into Danger.
I really wonder who might die in the coming Dragon War.
War? not really sure what I am calling a war, I guess more of a
       series of Battles?
This is the second Regional "War" I have run, the first one
being to reclaim Qualinesti Fifteen years ago. There was no Good
Dragons and there were Chromatic Dragons. Beryl was still alive
       then.
So at least there are Good Dragons this time, but not enough at
the moment to stage any kind of resistance.
       Okay. Starting to write.
       Post Ten October 08, 2023
I've kind of had a productive day on here.
I finally got Silvera and Gilthanas introduced into the story. I
got to address a few things that I know have happened to them in
recent times. I sometimes feel like I am writing about
character's last moments before they could go off and die, and
now I am wondering what will happen if some of these characters
       die.
I think Silvera and Gil are going to go, and we will see if it
       is their last hurrah.
So, we have Damara going to go into the fight. Talidaar is
there, Lashia is going into the Fight, and Marilee and Shimmer
are. Sure, there are a lot of named characters in the Warzone.
I feel like there will be a Deadpool before long.
Heartbreaking to write that Lashia and Daera. It is the first
time I have had the two together with Daera being a brand new
fully fleshed-out personality and I want to see these two
together all the time. This really sucks. I don't want Lashia to
       die.
I just never had a chance to develop Daera until these last few
months, I think, since the Theater show, that was when she
became more of who she was developing as.
So yes, I want more Lashia and Daera.
What else, yeah got Lashia up and running. She was never a side
character before in the games. So, I made a place for her.
So, I hope I have made it hard for you to have to choose who
your favorite character is, though I think Karnea will always be
the favorite. I am proud of how Wydara has turned out. I am very
excited for you to see what is coming in her Finale of Book One.
I have struggled to fully grasp Wydara’s alignment at the
moment, but also, I am also asking myself and the player what
was her alignment to begin with. Doing this game has brought up
a plethora of moral issues Wydara finds herself in in Ergoth.
Even putting to the side the games, Not just about Wydara
herself, who is very damaged, but has been trying to knit her
life back together, but also backward laws that pervade Northern
Ergoth. Slavery one. The killing of criminals in the arena, and
the inequality of women are just heartbreaking to write about.
Also writing about having an Emperor hanging over everyone’s
       heads
I will always have a soft spot for Lashia. I role-played the
hell out here, I put in the work. I think Daera would win the
best new character from thin air, but there are strong arguments
       for the Dwarves.

Post Eleven New Records were broken today.
Okay, we are on the other side.
I am still sort of jazzed in a writing mode. I am going to make
some coffee and see what else can come out before I crash.
The Big battle scenes so far have been in Knight of the Black
Lilly and in the Hierophant Book III. Talidaar almost died by a
tree. It was beautiful. sometimes I laugh when writing.
I feel like I had a good run last night and yesterday.
More Dragon attacks coming on the Elven Valley.
Lashia heads to Southern Ergoth and brings the Dwarves' story
into the present along with 98% of everyone else.
Finally got to visit Sigil, finally got to use Nuitari's
Rakshasa, Finally got to play in the Gray, and we finally got a
       mention of Aravis.
       We set some Records today
Most People ever visited my site 250 plus at the same time.
And Karnea becomes the first Story to reach over 500+ views.
Thank you everyone, thank you so much. It means a lot to me to
       share these characters with you.
Trying to build out the world and try to deliver new and
different stories. I hope I can shock some of you of where the
       story goes sometimes.
Having nearly 300 people on the forum at the same time is
       blowing my mind right now.
       Post Twelve 10/9/23
Greetings. I ended up staying up last night, way too late.

But the good news is I figured out some things. So, Most likely
no new Chapters tonight so I can continue plotting and writing.
I have figured out the next few Wydara Chapters, including the
Finale, The Primus between Adonoi, Rastav, and Hale of the Ice
       Wall Barbarians (Wydara's Gladiator)
Vs. Ackal of the Ker-Vakt in the Old Round Gladiator Arena.
I am figuring out Karnea's final Chapters, including the
upcoming first Conclave that Karnea represents The Black Robe as
its Order Master and it will be the First time the Three Order
Masters will be gathered together for the Conclave.
I am getting Lashia over to the Dwarves and going to get her to
       the Valley of Blue Sands.
Damara is bringing in the Dragons to help the Elves
Talidaar is about to unleash the Forces of Nature
I have created a Facebook group called the Damn Forum. It is a
Private group, but can be found by anyone.
  HTML https://www.facebook.com/groups/104486014028201
Not going to be posting memes or any stuff like that. I am going
to post stuff there I cannot post here. Maps, other little
goodies. Come by and tell me who your favorite character is.
Does anyone want to tell me what their favorite scene is? Does
anybody want to come and talk to me about how cool Karnea is? Or
Would you just like to come and talk about Dragonlance with me?

       Post Thirteen
       Greetings all,
       I am writing right now.
Finishing up Wydara Chapter Twelve, her finale of Book I is
       Chapter Fourteen
I will Write Lashia and the Dwarves and bring a close to Book I
of the Chosen of Reorx. We will see if there is a Book II for it
       or not.
       Hierophant
Then Damara the Windrider on Dragonback.
That will put us into a War Phase for now.
I got Karnea Chapter Twelve written out as a rough draft. I sent
it over to Adam the Player of Karnea and see what his reaction
is. It’s a bit complex, I might have to rewrite it and send it
back to him. We will see. Anyway, that took up the bulk of my
time last night. Lots of khas pieces have to be moved around the
board and get things into position for the Endgame of Karnea
Book II coming soon in Chapter Fifteen.
Not staying up late tonight. I have something in the afternoon,
but I will be back on after that.
Come by the Facebook group and tell me who your favorite
character(s) is. What is your Favorite Scene? Me, I don't know
There are so many now. Two stand out right now for me, and they
       both involve Lashia.
Hierophant of Chislev Book II Escalation Chapter One: Talidaar
and Lashia Husband and Wife- It’s the First time we see the
real strength of this pair debating back and forth how to help
the Elves, it’s the first time we see her mischievous side.
My Second Favorite Scene is Lashia The Wizardess Windrider
Chapter One: Goodbye- Having Lashia and Daera get to interact
was special to me beyond words.
My favorite was the First Gladiator Games. I was not sure that
that was going to work, but it turned out okay. Not great, but I
felt like I was in the arena when I was writing, and I hope that
       was conveyed.
Some books came in the mail that I ordered, I now have the
complete collection of the Rise of Solamnia Trilogy. I had these
before Fifteen years ago, but I had forgotten quite a bit. Going
to familiarize myself and give a better picture of Coryn going
forward from 422-430. I wish we could have had a Wizards of High
Sorcery Trilogy; I mean a second one. Dark Disciple is the last
time we hear from Jenna, I think. Also got a new copy of Summer
Flame. It’s been Fifteen years since I have read Summer Flame as
       well.

Going to need a few days to put all of this together as several
storylines are coming together to finish out the First Third of
the Story. Racing now to the End of Part One.

stories, Chapter by Chapter. They are really scene by scene, but
I call them chapters to keep everything in order.
It is so crazy reading Dragons of Summer Flame Fifteen years
later. Am I right in thinking this is the First time we run into
Mistress Jenna? It must be, I can't think where else she would
have introduced before now. So much has changed. It's so
mind-blowing. I think what is most tripping me out is the
Knights of Takhisis and how far they have fallen from what they
were. They are rudderless, a shadow of their former selves.
I would have liked to have read the Dragons of Summer Flame
Trilogy; how different would things be now? I do want to say
this, though I was not thrilled by the main characters of the
Wars of Souls, the Setting and World are amazing. The developers
of the 5th Age and the Writers Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
had a story summit for the Future of Dragonlance and I think
this summit made the War of Souls and what came after some of
the best stuff to ever come out of Dragonlance.
After this summit, we got the Chaos War Game books, years late,
but better late than never, we got the Sylvan Vale and one of
the best Elf Game books ever, and we got the Ogre Titan game
       book, and they ADD&D.
I found the Players Option Spells and Magic book; This is where
I found the 2e Rules for the Artificer. You can look over this
information in the AD&D game rules from Purple Worm.
I am not putting any deadlines down. Just going to Write and see
where I am in a couple of days. I Wrote for a Day and a Half
last week, Seven Chapters. I still don't know if I have
       recovered from this.
       Post Fifteen Chosen of Reorx
Stuff is so big that I am just taking things a step at a time.
One of these days I will fix the endings of the Dwarves two
Books. Neither one is strong at all. I had Chosen of Reorx open
and the Lashia file open and just had to make a decision on
which viewpoint I was coming at it with, I decided it was going
to be easier to come in via Lashia than have all the Dwarves.
It turns out the real ending of the Chosen of Reorx is in Lashia
Chapter Two. I will put a link in there. I am glad Slade is
staying behind, I don't think he would tolerate Longshot. I am
keeping him tame. He's pretty old for the kender, even though he
has not aged for a number of years.
So, I have not been able to approach Talidaar for a couple of
Days even though it become the central battle story.
It’s hard to imagine the mind of the Ogre-Titan. They are super
geniuses. They can just imagine things to happen. I've unleashed
       hell.
I've nearly smashed the Knights of Neraka. We will see what
       comes from the ashes.
And then Damara. That is going to be scary. Dragonriding into
       Combat is scary.
On another front, the last of my book orders came. I now own
       Legends again after 15 years.
So, I have a lot of books to get through. I have read legends
over and over before, so I knew most of it by heart, but I just
wanted to have it in my library.
Not sure what is next as of now I have the ones I wanted most.
I am excited when I get this Dragon battle out of the way to
begin calming things down. Things are going to start to settle
into place. I think things are going to settle for many years
into the AC 330s before building an enemy from the ground up.
       Post Sixteen October 18, 2023, I'm Back
       I am back, I think.
Doing Lashia and the Dwarves next
Probably, A couple more things. Then I will see how I am doing.
Okay, I think that is Four Chapters, bringing us closer to up to
       speed.
I think I have another Talidaar, and another Court chapter to go
to catch everything up In Northern Khur.
The Next Court Chapter will be big, that will be the Return of
Lashia, along with Prince Gilthanas & Silvana, Longhsot,
       Valthonis, Marilee, and Shimmer.
I am going to work on some Karnea stuff for a while and see if I
can come back to the elf stuff in a while. I may shift over to
Northern Ergoth, so I don't overload myself.
I have been getting a lot more sleep of late, I think it has
been key to getting a clear head. I was feeling very overloaded
by pulling this all off, and I am just taking it a chapter at a
time, weaving myself through the larger story that is going on
while still attending to smaller moments along the way.
Dalamar, I feel this is only natural. The Elves have been
through a lot, a lot. As Porthios has counseled, we have to be
willing to use any tool to claim our right to exist. Is this a
bridge too far? I don't know, I don't think so, maybe in the
past, but they are underground, hiding from dragons. I think the
speaker can bend a few rules to save his people.
I think that is it tonight. I will be back tomorrow with more
stories. I want to write Wydara again, so, That is coming.
Thank you all for coming back and giving me a chance to recover.
I still wrote a little bit. So 12 Weeks running.
This is the last entry of Behind the DM Screen Vol. V
Look for Vol. VI popping up soon.
It should be noted that several Stories will be migrating to the
Game Archive along with DM Behind the Screen early Volumes to
       the DM Archive sometime soon.
