Chapter One: Duty
North of Ansalon
The Northern Turbidus Ocean
2,023 over the ocean, flying south by west.
Damara Ambrodel has ridden Griffons since she was a young girl.
Has ridden Royal griffons into Battle. She was one of the lucky
elves that rode a metallic during the War of the Lance. Honorary
Knighthood and all that. But then my Dragon went away and that
was that. I’ll always remember the feeling of how proud I was
and how every second was amazing and terrifying.
Well, flying at this altitude, I wish I had a jacket.
Quallathon feels her jittering and goes lower. “Sorry, we can go
lower.”
“You don’t have to go too low,” Damara yells.
“What is your surname?”
”Ambrodel”
“You fought in the war as I recall. Solamnia?” Quallathon asks
“For a time. Scared out my mind, loved every minute of it.”
Damara answers
“How are you now?” The Dragon asks
“About the same as then.” Damara answers. “. You have heard of
Lauralanthalasa Kanan’s death? She was my friend.’
“I did, I am doing this for her in her memory.” Quallathon
answers.
“I will make for Kalaman before moving to what called the
Delving, there we will fallow the Khalkist Mountain chain, and
follow that down, if memory serves.” Quallathon tells his rider.
There are twenty other Dragons in the sky with them, all
gliding, and sometimes in tight formation, and other times just
the younger ones are free-flying.
Thankfully this dragon isn’t doing that. Eventually, they land
outside Kalaman. It creates a bit of a burst of excitement from
the locals that part curious, partly scared out of their minds
that war is coming again while this last war is barely over.
Damara tells the people the Dragons are just resting before we
continue on our journey.
After a period of rest, The Dragons set out again.

Tamon Busuk Region
Kalkist Mountain Range
Northern Khur
The Dragons take a circuitous route to get to the Skyfire
mountains, but the Metallics stop and all land. They smell
Dragonfire. A Scout goes up and counts several wings awaiting
their attack run.
They are not large in Number, but there are expressed concerns
about the superior numbers of Chromatics.
Damara tosses out an idea of sending Metallics to be sighted
south to divide up their attention. “Would that work?”
The Good Dragons look at each other and agree, it would work.
The Chromatics would not be able to stop themselves from being
distracted. Two of the coppers are asked to fly around and fly
south and allow themselves to be sighted and disappear the best
they can. “Polymorph if you have to, don’t get caught.”
“We will catch who is left.”
Damra is told someone will come back for her, but as she does
not have a dragon saddle, it would be more dangerous to bring
her along.
They visually see Many of the Dragons in the air, laying in wait
for their attack run is distracted by the appearance of
Metallics in the area. They instantly go after the Coppers.
Leaving the Dragons currently attacking the Valley left unaware
of until the last moments. The magical darkness is pierced, and
the sunlight breaks through The Metallic Dragons slam into the
attacking Dragons, claws tear at each other, bites and
breathweapons strike their blood enemies.
The Twenty Dragons kill four of the attacking chromatics, and
their bodies fall to Krynn, One, the Red is hobbled and also
crashes into Krynn, but the body disappears from view. The
Metallics go into hiding as they do not have the numbers to
fight the rest of the Dragon Army that has amassed over and
around Khur. This was only an attack of opportunity. Damra is
picked up by the Gold that brought her this far from the Dragon
Isles and they fly into the Valley of the Blue Sands.

East Central Ansalon

The Tunnels below the Valley of the Blue Sands
Damara reunites with her brother, Captain Hythanas Ambrodel (The
Wildrunner), and hugs him tight. She heard very briefly about
his ordeal from the Lioness. She apologizes to him for not
coming and checking on him before heading to the Dragon Isles.
Hythanas answers, “It was horrible beyond belief. Many times, I
dd not think I was going to make home to my wife and child.
Saida really is the hero, if it was not for her, I would have
not made it back.”
Damara hugs him tighter and says, “I’m glad you are back and
okay.”
“I’m back, I don’t know I’m okay yet. It took a lot out of me.
But I am glad you are back, you have given us a fighting chance,
something I was losing faith in.”
“I’m sorry I was not here sooner, but I am here now little
brother. Now, take me to the newest addition to the Ambrodel
family.”
Hythanas takes her to where most of the civilian population has
been staying in a large underground chamber hollowed out long
ago. Paintings of key moments of the elven early history line
the walls in this area of the Tunnel system. He brings his
oldest sister to where his wife Vixona is caring for their baby
boy Kith.
A time later, Damara is walking the tunnels to find Talidaar
when she realizes someone is behind her.
“Welcome back, you found the Good Dragons, you have brought hope
Ambrodel.”
It is a moody, high-born voice she knows all too well.
“Good day to you, Prince Porthios. Thank you,” Damara replies,
her voice neutral, without the icy tones she has used in the
past. His tone was neutral as well. It did not go unnoticed.
“When the rest of the Dragons get here, I will feel better.”
“Still, before your return, the people was scared this was going
to be our tomb.” He answers.
“I am glad you came here Porthios. We will need your fire before
all this is over.” Damara turned back to the way she was going
and walked on.

Damara Ambrodel The Windrider:
Story Two Dragonriders
Chapter Four: Into the Air
Damara and the Lioness get word of what Talidaar and Lord Rage
are going to do. Evil Dragons are getting in the air. We must
get up there too as a deterrent.
Then they heard the horn blare some words that sounded like a
warning, something about a Dragon in the Valley. The Lioness
finds the dead Blue Dragon and Gilthas’s Royal Tent and finds
him lying in bed, but awake,
They talk for a while about what comes next.

More Dragons begin arriving, joining the Vanguard Riders and
Dragons with Lances, saddles, Armor, and leathers.
The Lioness has Damara have a final check of the Vanguard Wing
Commanders, Elven, Solamnic, and Sun Hawks. All are armored up
and well, at least in leathers, gloves, and a mask and helmet.
The two elves watch the two dwarves surveying the field of
Dragons and their riders getting situated in their saddle.
The Dwarves, the priest of Reorx Torin Stonebeard, and the Dwarf
fighter Ragrim Shattershield watch as the armored troops carry
their Dragonlances and are helped to fit them in the mounts.
They have helped make sure all of this could happen, and Torin
is seeing the task through to seeing them off to battle. They
respectfully nod to the Queen of the Elves and her General.
The elven duo confers with Porthios, one of the Wing Commanders.
They confer for a few moments and the two walk onto their dragon
mounts.
The Lioness and Damara pass by Marilee and Shimmer in his Elven
form. Damara stops to see that Marilee is ready for this and
sees in her eyes that she is. Damara hugs her niece and tells
her her mount needs to transform and get ready and Marilee nods.
and then After Damara walks off, Marilee and Shimmer have a
moment intertwined in each other's arms, looking into one
another's eyes, being locked together, feelings swell for them.
and he takes steps away from her and shapechanges into his
Dragon Form
Soon,

The Lioness tells Damara to get everyone into the air.
Damara hesitates, though she thinks her Queen is right, She
thinks of the mere weeks of training and wishes she had more
time to train these men and elves and even train more in the Art
of Dragon fighting and flying. She looks around to the Wing
Commander and Orders the Dragon Knights to get their Dragons
into the air.
The Dragons follow Damara’s Dragon and rise into the air.
Copper, Brass, Bronze, Silvers, and Golds all fly out of the
Elven Valley.

Contact

---------------------------------------------------------
Windrider: Dragonriders
Story Two
Chapter Five: First Contact
Eastern Ansalon
High above the Khur Desert
The Good Metallic Dragons have taken to the sky, carrying with
them all of the hopes of their people, that they can fight the
Evil Chromatic Dragons off from their stated goal of destroying
the Elven Nations in the valley.
Marilee is on the back of Shimanloreth/Shimmer (Bronze Dragon).
She is dressed for combat, wearing newly forged elven armor, and
is wielding a lesser mounted Dragonlance. She has flown into
combat before with Shimmer, the last time he came to Ansalon, so
she is not afraid. She is happy and right where she wants to be.
Marilee spares a tinge of regret that her twin, Las, is not with
her, but she (Marilee) has made peace with this. She knows her
sister made a charm of Feather fall for Marilee after her crash
in Qualinesti. Her twin implored Marilee to carry this the next
time she took to the air. She pats Shimmer’s back and looks
around her.
Eighty-three Metallic Dragons gleaming, catching the new day’s
light in their scales. Coppers and Brass carry no Riders, and a
third of Bronze and Silvers have Dragon Riders- Both Elves and
Human Knights of Solamnia, along with Griffon and Windriders
armed with lesser Footmen’s Dragonlance a ways back, waiting to
strike.
To the right of one of the only Gold Dragons present is General
Damara Ambrodel, aback a Silver Dragon, male named Azurion, a
veteran of the War of the Lance and the Chaos War.
Damara is ever watchful, head on a swivel, scanning for anything
in the distance, above, or behind. She occasionally glances to
her left to see the only Gold Dragon: Quallathon* with a rider
in the air group, the Lioness, Queen of the Elves.
The Air Group is moving south, flying amongst the Cumulus (Cu)
coming in from the East.
On the far left is Porthios Solostarin, leading the left air
wing; he is riding a Silver Male, Valatharion.
Some Coppers have flown ahead to scout for the Dragon Army-
Shimmerfang glides and darts through the cloud bank and comes
out, and he nearly collides with a Black Dragon sharing his
airspace. They veer away from each other, and then two more
Blacks change direction and head for the copper. Shimmerfang
looks back and sees that the Two Blacks are joined by the Black
Dragon he almost ran into. Beyond them, the Chromatics, near the
Sierra Khur-
The copper flies with all his might to his fellow copper scout….
but where is he?
Then Shimmerfang sees Glintscale falling and crashing into the
desert sands below. Shimmerfang races back to his Airwing to
warn of the danger ahead, with Black Dragons in tow.

Damara Ambrodel The Windrider:

Chapter Six: The Enemy Revealed
Eastern Ansalon
Above the Burning Sands Desert of Khur
Near the Sierra Khur Mountains
The copper is spotted coming from the clouds, Black Dragons are
hot in pursuit but pull up when they see the Metallic Good
Dragons coming from the north, they retreat back into the clouds
going southeast.
The copper flies to the Lead Gold and tells him “The Chromatics
are near the Mountain range.
The Queen of the Elves tells her mount, “Quallathon, that
Mountain Range is the Sierra Khur Mountains,”
The Gold asks the Lioness what she wants to do.
Queen Kerianseray looks over to Damara and she points southeast,
she makes the elven hand signal for mountain(s).
Damara nods and watches as the lead Gold banks rightward toward
the mountains, the Good Dragon wings following.
They come through the clouds and there is the Chromatic Dragon
Army, flying above the Sierra Khur Mountains
They are flying to regroup and start to get into a semblance of
matching countering formation, it seems halfhearted, though,
like their attention is diverted. They are still slow to pull
away from the mountain. More come away and join the Chromatic
horde.
Damara realizes that the Sierra Khur is where her sister Lashia
told her that Talidaar was where was located on a mission to
distract the Red Alpha Dragon.
Damara prepares herself, she has her mount accelerate and get
closer to the Gold, to protect them at all costs.
Marilee and the Bronze Dragon Shimmer, and see the Enemy Dragons
arrayed, getting into formation. She gets ready and pats her
mount’s back scales.
The Knights of Solamnia brace themselves and grip tight to their
Dragonlances and hold on as nearly all of them go into their
first Dragon Fight. They are holding on with everything that
their nerve and courage and brace them in the coming fight.
It is all real now. Reds, Blues, Blacks… hard to get an accurate
count, nearly a hundred, give or take. Most of them speak
prayers to their Gods, and some recite the Oath on their lips,
“Est Sularus uth Mithas” (My Honor is My Life). With grim
determination, they look to their Captain. Forty-four Knights of
Solamnia, all volunteers, made the cut and are up here flying
aside Bronze and Silvers for the first time since the War of the
Lance.
Brass and Coppers begin to fan out, prepared to support anyone
getting into trouble
Porthios is watching it all play out. All of this would not have
happened if Damara had not gone to the Dragon Isles… He sighs
and silently thanks her for this chance. He has to force himself
through those thoughts, for this is a privilege to defend the
Elven Nation, and he prepares to go into battle.
The Windriders and Kagonesti Griffon Riders hang back and watch
for targets of opportunity, as even the griffon riders are not
crazy enough to get in the middle of this collision that is
coming. They are watching for anyone they can help team up with.

The Lioness notices Damara’s Silver beside her, and she looks
ahead and screams a War Cry in her maiden Kagonesti tongue, and
the Good Dragons fly against the Chromatic Army that is bent on
destroying the Elven Nation.

Story Two Dragonriders
Chapter Seven: The Dragon Battle over Khur
Eastern Ansalon
Above the Sierra Khur
The Black Dragon Shadowscale races back in the orange morning
sky of dawn, with Shadowvax close behind. Shadowscale flies to
the Red Dragon Emberflame, in charge. The Black Dragon specks in
chromatic dragon tongue- “Metallics, Eighty dragons, More than
half has riders, with Lances, there are Gold Dragons.”
This gives Emberflame - some pause. As much as he would love
nothing more than to meet these Metallics and grind them to
dust, The lances will give them an advantage we cannot meet. We
have at least twenty more than they do, that is where we have to
press our advantage. A quarter of Dark Knight Riders that
survived have joined our numbers, but they do not wield those
damnable Lances… Emberflame looks down at the Sierra Khur,
towards the cave of Vermomax. Why does he not join us? Kill the
interlopers and be done with it. The Red Dragon hears a roar
from a nearby Blue Dragon. Emberflame glimpses to see the
Metallics coming. Emberflame yells in Draconic “Scatter!!,
double and triple team, go after anyone vulnerable, attack the
riders from behind.”
The Chromatic Dragon Army -made up of Black, Blue, and Red
Dragons follow Emberflame’s orders and scatter every which way.

The Metallics have the same thoughts, and each group follows
their targets and some hang back to rescue anyone being
double-teamed.
Among the Elves, only Damara and perhaps two or three others are
the only ones -living that fought on Dragon back during the War
of the Lance, she watches as the Chromatics scatter in all
directions, this changes things-
Queen Kerianseray the fabled Lioness sees the change in plans
and trusts the Dragon to get her in range to use this spear.
The Gold Quallathon sees what the Dragon leader has chosen to
do, They have chosen scorched earth. We have to end this quickly
and hope the Hierophant and Wizards can keep the large Red
Dragon on the ground.
Every plan goes to hell at the point of contact,
Dragons slam and tear into each other at high velocities, raking
claws, spells are cast, and breath weapons are unleashed.
The Knights of Solamnia Dragonriders A mix of Knights from
Sancrist, and from Solamnia-handpicked by the Field Marshall to
engage in battle against the enemy. Lances are raised, they look
for the opportunity to strike and they close on the evil
Dragons.
The Coppers and Brass carry no riders into battle, now they are
looking for where they can give aid.
The Elven Dragonriders, made up of Qualinesti, Silvanesti, and
Kagonesti Elven Windriders and Wildrunners ride in, lances, and
follow the Lioness and General Damara into Combat. The
Dragonlances strike the evil Chromatics causing damage and
mayhem. Because the lances were only made with the Silver Arm
and not with the Hammer of Kharas and thus, not True
Dragonlances, these are less effective but still cause damage.
Serious aerial combat unfolds, elves try to stop any double and
triple teaming they witness, but no amount of training can
prepare for this, the scene has become chaotic, as enemies and
heroes are flying past, Dragons divebombing and taking out
Solamnic and Elven riders from behind. Ferocious triple teams
rip metallics from the sky and soon fall to their deaths.
Marilee and the Bronze Dragon Shimmer are in trouble, several
Blacks have decided to team up on them and it is only by the
grace of Shimmer’s evasive maneuvers that they have not
accomplished their intended goal yet.
Damara looks around and sees Marilee in trouble, they begin to
head towards her when the Black Dragon Nightfang spews its acid
across a whole swath of enemies. The acid lands in droplets that
burn the riders and dragons.
General Damara just gets her arm up to cover her face, but the
droplets strike her arm in different places and pain shoots
through her. Her Silver Mount Azurion asks if she can still
fight. He gets nothing back and can’t turn around and looks, he
thinks she might be in shock. He looks around and sees that he
is not immediately in trouble and risks a look behind at his
rider.
Damara appears listless and wincing in pain. Azurion sees that
her left arm has been melted to the bone in a large swath of
dissolved flesh. He determines that her arm will be useless
unless she can be healed.
Porthios Kanan and his Silver mount Valatharion see that
Damara’s Silver Dragon is flying out of the fight, he cannot see
the condition of General Damara. They have to save Marilee. He
rears up in his saddle and calls to his wing “On Me” and they
dive on the Black Dragons that have committed on Marilee.
He owes her, he does not want to be one to relate to the
Half-Elf that he let Marilee face this alone. The Wing plunges
on the Black Dragons and attacks.
Porthios and Valatharion drop and drive at the Black Dragons.
They try to scatter, and one can not get out of the way.

Breath weapons and spells rain down on the black and they
momentarily lose their target and attention.
The Lioness has brought two Chromatic Dragons down in this
bloody fight, She had seen things get bad, but something seemed
different now… she looked around… the Chromatics seemed to be
leaving, a couple at a time, and the Red we were anxious about
has not joined the battle. Kerian looks around for General
Damara and has not seen her or even seen her now, she scans
around to look at who needs help and who is still a problem on
the battlefield.
The Bronze Dragon Shimmer and Marilee take a breath of relief
before turning to help Porthios when a Black Dragon comes out
of nowhere and rakes his claws and rains acid upon the Bronze
Dragon’s wings. Marilee can feel acid droplets burn her body
from exposure to the air. A Copper Dragon flies in and offers
pursuit of the Black Dragon, chasing it away.
Marilee looks at Shimmer’s damaged wings barely working and the
wings rip under the strain of weakening further and Shimmer
begins to fall out of the sky.
For the second time in as many of months, Marilee is going down
with her mount, but not just any mount, Marilee has fallen in
love with Shimmer, they had that one magical summer of
experiences and he took her heart, and then he was gone-spooked
by the burning love that he felt for Marilee. During their
brief reunification on the Dragon Isles, Marilee admits to
herself that she guilted him into coming with her into the
fight, we are in this because of me she recalls.
As they fall towards the deserts of Khur, Marilee calls out to
Shimmer with tears streaming down her face.
Shimmer tells her he is happy he got to see her again, he tells
her “I love you Marilee, but you must unclip, I will not let you
die with me.”
They reach terminal speed.
Tears have flooded her eyes, and she sobs but knows he is right,
“I love you…” Marilee closes her eyes and unclips from the
saddle and Shimmer falls away from her as she slows down and
slowly drifts down above his falling form over the desert. The
charm of feather fall she has fixed on her belt carries her
downward slowly, she watches him fall through tear-stained eyes
and watches her love fall to his death.
The Bronze Dragon Shimanloreth crashes violently into the
burning sands of Khur.
