Speaker of the Sun and Star Gilthas Kanan
Seneschal Amrynn
General of the Army General Hamaramis
General of the Wildrunners General Taranath
Windrider Leader Subcommander Naien, Qualinesti
Windrider, Leading the Windriders in General Damara’s absence.
The Elven leaders are deep in thought looking at the large map
of the region.
With General Damara off on the Dragon Hunt, that leaves the army
in Khur. Deciding how to handle the Dragons and the Dark
Knights. It is a precarious situation.
A messenger comes in and whispers to Seneschal Amrynn. Amrynn’s
eyes go big and he steps forward.
“Mission successful, Primary and secondary extraction point was
missed., One team of Windrider and griffon were killed by a Red
Dragon. The wildrunners are out there somewhere in this zone.”
Loyalty goes both ways Githas thinks. He weighs the situation
against the army and Dragons in Khur.
“Send a pair of Windriders and Griffons up. They need to know we
are trying.”
“That drops our numbers even lower here my lord.” Subcommander
Naien tells the Speaker.
“He would do it for me.”

Story One
Chapter Two: Chaos
A Windrider returns from Khur and reports to Subcommander Naien.
Naien reports to the Speaker and the Generals that the
propaganda was successful with the outlaying Tribes. “They don’t
know it’s from us. Also, I was alerted to the city erupting
into chaos. I don’t know what happened, or if we did it.”
“We did, I sent that order out this morning. General of the
Elven Army Hamaramis answers the Windrider. He then asks the
other Generals “Now what can we do to capitalize on all this
chaos?”
The Speaker dismisses the Windrider and tells them to get some
sleep before they head back out.
General Taranath thinks, and then just lays it out. We
capitalize by stirring this along from the shadows. If our
involvement is even suspected, it will all fall apart and double
our enemies. We should take a defensive position and let it play
out in Khur. The less involved we are there, the better for all
of us. We are playing high stakes now. Until reinforcements
arrive. We are on our own.
“Scribe!” Speaker Gilthas calls.
“Yes, great speaker” A young female elf comes in and takes his
letter.
“To the High Thane of Thordin,
Dear sir-.”

Story One
Chapter Three: The Portal
There is excitement that is rising on the side of town, nearest
to the gates. Word is brought to the Speaker that a portal has
opened near Lioness Creek. Our Warriors have returned home from
Qualinesti to aid.
From above, a Griffon flies overhead and lands close by. The
Rider slides from the back of her griffon mount. The speaker
calls out to Kerianseray and they run to each other and embrace
and he spins her around. They look into each other’s eyes and
kiss deeply and they finish in a hug.
The Lioness goes to her child and scoops him in her arm, while
the speaker walks to the Army that has returned. General
Taranath catches up with the speaker while General Hamaramis is
not far behind.
The Army that left with Porthios has returned almost to a man,
except for those that stayed with Lord Porthios and General
Samar. Perhaps ten others, along with Alhana.
The Speaker welcomes them back, a senior member of the
Wildrunners that came back says that "The Queen told us the
Elven Nation was at risk, and we return to you, great speaker.
But the sooner this is over, the sooner we go back and try to
Retake Qualinesti."
The Speaker tells the soldier he understands and agrees and
thanks them all for coming to the Nation’s side in our hour of
need. I will let General Hamaramis integrate into our Defensive
posture.
The Speaker takes his leave of the troops and goes to his Queen
and his child, where they talk into the night about how things
are going in Qualinesti and whether are we any closer to
victory. Before too long, The Speaker tells Kerianseray that
Subcommander Hythanas Ambrodel is still missing between here and
Neraka. Gilthas tells her that He has Windriders up, but they
have had to no joy thus far in their search. The Lioness agrees
to give it a try to see if she sees anything.

Thordin
Elven Wildrunner charged with taking Speaker Gilthas’s letter to
the Dewar Dwarves of Thordin. He has not been able to enter the
Dwarven enclave for days. He was about to leave when he heard
activity on the Road from the South. What he sees horrifies him.
Hordes of goblin and ogre undead. He sees Ogres, and he sees the
giant fifteen-foot Ogre Titans. Traveling North. It’s a vast
army. He must get back to the Speaker, but it is too late. He is
swarmed by ogres and captured.
Inath-Wakenti, Valley of the Blue Sands
The Speaker and Queen of the Elves spend the night together for
the first time in a year. They are reunited in passion, making
up for lost time. The next morning the Lioness is up the next
morning and readies Eagle-Eye, her Griffon mount, for travel.
She off to find her subordinate and friend Hythanas Ambrodel.
She also has General Taranath send a sextet of Wildrunners on a
mission to find Hythanas if she cannot.
She and Eagle-Eye set out North and West, looking for any sign
of the missing wildrunners.
A messenger arrives at the Court of Speaker Gilthas from our
long-range reconnaissance patrol. They report that Draconians
have been driven from the field of Battle and are heading in
this direction.
General Hamaramis calls for nothing less than the full
mobilization of the elven army to prepare to repel any invaders.

Speaker Gilthas “You are right, we should be preparing. But I do
not think these Draconians are here to attack us. They are
retreating.
Hamaramis says “Great speaker, we do not know this for sure. We
indeed tracked the Draconians as they entered the region, but we
don’t know what their intentions are.”
Speaker Gilthas tells General Hamaramis to prepare the troops.
He tasks General Taranath to go with Ambassador Morillon
Ambrodel to parley with these Draconians. Find out their reason
for being in the region. “Take them some supplies in a gesture
of goodwill.”

The Lioness awakes to find the Speaker looking over her.
“We are going to have to stop meeting like this.” The Speaker
tells his wife.
Kerianseray smiles. “Are they alive?”
“Yes, my love, you saved them both. You have my thanks.”
“Thank you for sending so many elves to the rescue, I was at my
end, I don’t know how much longer I could have gone.”
“Thank Eagle Eye. I really do think she is the smartest griffon.
He loves and adores you.”
“How is Balif.” The Lioness asks
“The prince is doing just fine. I’ll have him brought in soon.
There was a situation near the gate.”
“What happened?”
“Our neighbors, the Hachakee Tribe attacked with no provocation,
and a Blue Dragon tried to kill our elves, we don’t know what
brought it to our front door, we don’t know why the Khur
attacked. But we do have a walk-in.”
“What are they saying?
“General Taranath is in with her now.”
An aide asks for the Speaker,
Gilthas kisses Kerianseray on her forehead and tells her he’s
glad that she is home. He tells her he will have Balifaris
brought in when he comes back.
He walks to the Command Tent and asks to be updated.
General Hamaramis answers. “We have confirmed her words. But get
this, I don’t think they are Knights anymore, the Windriders
said they looked like they were the walking dead. Possibly
Undead, I don’t know how to interpret this report. They also
have seen Ogre titans and an army moving through the Burning
sands, there are two armies.”
“Two Armies. How long before the Knights or whatever they are
take Tur.”
The next two days.
Gilthas reads the report and tries to make out the handwriting.
“General, if this number is true, we need to start forging
silver swords.” Gilthas points out the numbers he’s talking
about 6,000 undead.

Chapter Six: War Council

Porthios Kanan, still wrapped with cloth bandages all over his
body. he is a hardened Warrior, when they last left, it was not
on the greatest of terms. Lady Alhana, General Samar, and the
Hierophant of Chislev, Talidaar Half-Elven.
They brought by Seneschal Amrynn and led the War Council
In attendence
Speaker Giltahas Kanan, the Queen, Kerianseray, The Lioness
They are around a map of the Valley and the surrounding areas of
Khur and Tamon Busk.
They were in conversation but they stopped and welcomed everyone
back to the Inath-Wakenti.
This is still Porthios, and no matter the progress that has been
made here, it is a fantasy of safety in this unfriendly region.
He appreciates the difficulty of moving the people home.
Regaining the freedom of Qualinesti has never been so close. The
Bandit’s leadership was decapitated. The Black Brood was routed
and sent into the Plains of Dust. There was even word that the
Dark Knights had pulled out of their post to return to Nearka.
The speaker has General Taranath continue the briefing.
General Taranath is the general of the Wildrunners branch of the
Elven forces. He backs up a little and begins “The Walk-in’s
information was accurate. The Dark Knights are assaulting Tur.
The Blue Dragon that attacked last night dispersed the
Draconians into this area to our west. The Horsemen took off
after the Dragon attack. Six elves were killed in all.”
“We have Wildrunner teams here and here in the Burning Sands
keeping an eye on this Army attacking Tur. The Windriders have
confirmed another army, this one of Ogres Goblins, Undead, and
Ogres Titans. It is coming up behind the knights, we have only
this Woman’s testimony that they are in conflict. We will know
soon when this army gets here by Tur.”
“The Windriders have been this other army over here on the
Hundred Mile Road. They are on the verge of taking Neraka, so
that lessens the chance they are working together. This means
they may be close to routing the Dark Knights, but not the
Dragons in the Region. Several are attacking Tur. There was the
random Dragon attack last night. The Dragons have gone to ground
for a reason, but they will show back up. We just don’t know
what made them leave the Khur desert. I’ve redoubled patrols for
any polymorphed Dragons thinking they can sneak in. It took me a
while to accept the Walk-in wasn’t a Dragon.”
“Tur is too close.” The Lioness says. They are practically on
our doorstep.”
“Until we can forge enough Silver Weapons, we cannot engage that
army.”
“The Girl says the General is a Death Knight or some other
undead creature.” General Taranath relates. “Does anyone know
how to fight them?”
Talidaar speaks up. “I have dealt with a Death Knight in the
past, it will take Priests and holy, and Magical Weapons. It’s
possible, we might lose people in the attempt.“ Dark memories
come up that have long been dormant. A Death Knight assaulted
his Forest before. He wreaked havoc until he was stopped.
Talidaar shudders.
Porthios steps forward and looks at the map. “Where are these
Ogre Titans going when they run the knights off? We need to be
forming a force now to counter this army in the North should it
decide to come here.”
Gilthas says, “He agrees a force needs to be gathered, but one
also for the South. Where is the Nearka Region Map?” The aides
look through the maps on the table, find it, and put it on top.
“General Hamaramis, you know this Neraka region. This map shows
no way through these mountains except in in these Five places.”
“Yeah, the Rest were guarded passes, they were to the west. If
the Titans come from the South or East Road.”
Gilthas asks Porthios and General Samar to look over the Neraka
and the Skyfore mountains map and tell me what you see.
“Any word yet on your wife or her sister?” The Speaker asks
Talidaar.
“They will return soon. Hopefully soon enough, and hopefully
with friends.” Talidaar answers

Gilthas tries to break the silence with “Anybody want to talk
first? Talidaar, what have you to say?”
Talidaar gives his thoughts. “I was as surprised as all of you.
I think she saw me and knew it would all fall apart if she did
not come clean. She was telling the truth; at no point did I
detect a lie.”
“Kerianseray, what do you think?” Gilthas asks his fierce wife.
“Even if she is telling the truth, there is a lot she is not
telling us. But if she is a Knight of Skull, it means she is a
Mystic, probably a mentalist. She should not be allowed in your
presence again.” The Lioness declares.
Gilthas agrees. “No telling what she could do. Still, we need
more information from her. If she was a Dragon Rider, she might
know where the Dragons are. Talidaar, can I ask you to accompany
my Wife to question this woman further?”
“Yes Speaker, as soon as you are ready. “
“I’ll lead the way.”

Eastern Ansalon
The Skyfire Mountains
Inath-Wakenti.
The Drums beat away as Talidaar moves past the elves going away
from Town. He enters the Tent and is let past the guards and he
goes to the Court. Beyond the Throne, and the Court is the War
Room, Talidaar heads there.
The Elven Generals are gathered with their Speaker, with Queen
Kerianseray by his side. Porthios is in the Tent, along with
Alhana and Samar.
Talidaar just listens to the report, being given by General
Taranath of the Wildrunners.
“We have counted sixteen Dragons emerging from the Mountains to
take control of the Air superiority. I have concerns about all
of our Treeforts along this ridge, and the rest of them for that
matter. Against a ground assault, they would be helpful, not
against Dragons. They are just targets of opportunity.
Just then a messenger brings a message to Taranath. He reads a
folded piece of parchment, hastily scribbled letters. The
Wildrunner General turns pale, then points to the location of
Wildrunner Special Group two in the Burning Desert, a couple of
miles from Tur.
They report The Ogres are retreating North, towards Skyfire
Mountains.” Taranath points his finger from Tur, up to the
Their Valley. “They are coming, The Titan Army is coming this
way, we have under two days. The Message also says Special Group
Two has gone down by Dragon attack. Two possible survivors. We
will deal with that; we need to check the forge and see that
they are making progress with the silver sword production.”

The Queen looks at the Map. “We need to strike them before they
cross Lioness Creek.”
General Hamaramis asks what she is proposing.
“We Flank them, deter them from heading toward the gates.”
“The Plan could backfire and pull them back towards you” The
Speaker observes.
They look at the map.
Porthios speaks up, “We have to attack them first. They will get
through your gates eventually.”
Talidaar takes the dynamics of the scene in.
Speaker Gilthas thinks through the scenarios. "We will hold them
if we stay to our defenses. We have planned for this."
Alhana speaks up. “I understand there is a desire to attack.
That would seem an intelligent and brave action, but we fought
these beasts. We fought them to a standstill, they retreated
into the fog they brought. They took every elf body from the
battlefield. They will take you blood and cast your body aside
if you are captured. The other way you are going to defeat them
is hold out and rain arrows down upon them, but strike from a
defensive position.”

Talidaar says “I will do what he can to slow them down. They
are highly magical as well, if you have wizards among you, it is
time for them to step forward, your Priests and Druids as well.
“
“I will send them to you, at the Tympanum.”
Porthios exists the Court behind Talidaar, and Alhana and Samaar
follow.

Story One
Chapter Nine: The Storm part one
Underground, in the Tunnels under the Valley is serving as an
ark or their tomb. Word has been brought down that the enemy has
been sighted, they are nearing the Skyfire Mountains. They can
hear thunder crashes. Speaker Gilthas wonders momentarily if
flooding is going to be a problem if there is a prolonged
rainstorm.
He brings his concerns to his Court and they begin to scrutinize
past rainfall runoff flooding for telltale evidence. They don’t
find much to help prove anything. It is something they are going
to have to be aware of. They take another look at the tunnel map
and try to determine the best place to be in the event of a
flood.
Above,
The sky has darkened in the early morning. The winds have picked
up, and Storm clouds have come to this normally arid land. The
occasional thunderstrike punctuates the near quiet in the valley
of the Blue Sands.
The Hierophant of Chislev has joined with the other Druids to
call a storm over the areas near Lioness Creek.
A Large Host of Ogres and their Ogre-Titan Masters, and their
underlings (Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears).
Ogre Magi are present in the Host’s ranks.
They consider the approach to the valley. They look at the
height of the mountains that ring the valley.
The Ogre-Titans are geniuses, and as such, they consider the
best way forward. It appears that several Trees have been
awakened in the vicinity of the Gates.

They also see a large standing army of Draconians. The Titans
can’t decide if they are friend or foe.
Two storm systems are now in the near vicinity. The Sand Storm
is moving up from the South, and this is a new System that has
been brought together.

Chapter Ten: The Return of Damara Ambrodel
Eastern Ansalon
The Skyfire Mountains
Inath-Wakenti
The Tunnels below the Valley
Hope is ringing through the tunnels under the Valley for the
first time in days.
Speaker Gilthas Kanan has welcomed back General Damara Ambrodel
with congratulations for a mission accomplished.
Damra introduces the person next to her with golden hair. “His
name is Quallathon and he is a Gold Dragon. I am proud to
introduce you to each other as Quallathon was once the mount of
your mother and my dear friend, Lauralanthalasa Kanan during the
War of Lance.”
Speaker Gilthas immediately feels kinship with this Gold Dragon
and calls him forward and the two embrace. Gilthas thanked him
for coming.
Damara explains “the rest of the Good Dragons are coming;
several went with my sister to Southern Ergoth to retrieve
Dragonlances that are being made by some gift of the gods.”
Damara goes on to say “Many others tried to gather Knights of
Solamnia and equipment needed to fight. Sire, I fear we may have
the Dragons and Dragonlances, but we are solely lacking in
Dragon riding saddles to our detriment. It will be the only way
to utilize the mounted Dragonlances with any kind of advantage.”

“Tell use what needs to be done and we will do it.” Gilthas
answers.
The specifications are drawn up and the Elven people work to
complete the task that may allow them to survive these endless
attacks.
Her brother-in-law arrives almost on cue, Talidaar walks up to
her and asks “if Lashia is okay, is she far behind?”
Damra answers “She’s fine, she will be here, she stopped to see
the kids. She is picking up Dragonlances from Foghaven, and
Talidaar, we found Longhsot, he’s with Lashia.”
Talidaar starts laughing hugs his sister-in-law and welcomes her
back.
He takes her to get some food and get some rest after her long
trip.
