I have a question. It's not too serious but how do you forget
something really gross you saw? Like a picture or one hell of a
       mistake of a google search?

Ah! A victim of 'Lemon Party' syndrome.
Well, there's good news and there's bad news. The good news is
       there is no bad news.
Phew! Right? This is a simple matter of 'mind over matter'. You
may not be able to suddenly and consciously forget something
disturbing you saw. What the preceding paragraph was
illustrating that point, I led your mind down an alternate path
of thinking. The mind is not something that you control, so much
       as use.
If I tell you don't think about Napoleon, most likely you start
thinking about Napoleon. Because you heard the name, and the
mind starts accessing those sets of information you have on it,
automatically. The same way that you look at these letters on
the screen and you automatically start processing them as
       letters, words, sentences, et cetera.
Not so much 'stop thinking about it' as it is think about
something else. The mind becomes what thoughts we think. You can
always change what you're thinking about.
Meditation is based on this in many ways, in that a person
'lets' the mind have all it's random thoughts and neither
accepts nor rejects what they are thinking. Instead, they detach
themselves from it until they can silence the mind for inner
       peace.
       Ohm!
