Clash of the Titans (Not A FanFic. Read for explanation.)
By: Uleni Athram Date: August 5, 2014, 10:41 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I've always had this idea ever since I read about the old, old,
old, Clash of the Titans back in Chorrol when I first joined.
(*pointed look at Black Hand since Sethyas was quite the regular
in the Clashes)
But somehow I never got around to it :p
So in the most basic explanations, Clash of the Titans is all
about this; we put our characters in an area built specifically
for Duelling and they battle it out to the death. It's
one-on-one, with no external intrusions. There are three people
involved in each match. The owners of each respective characters
(+2) and a writer (+1) that's going to write the battle AND the
outcome.
The outcome is determined by a poll that will run for a week
before it is closed. The character who has the most votes win.
The owners and the writers CANNOT pitch in their votes; only the
audience can. In fact, the only thing the Owners can do is write
up an informative (AND I MEAN INFORMATIVE lol) character sheet
about the character they're going to use and submit it.
The old Clash of the Titans primarily used the owners' FanFic
characters, and we can do that too. As for people without a
FanFic Character or don't want to use them, like I said, you
could always create an informative character sheet and submit
them.
"Why so tighty about an informative character sheet, Uleni?"
So the audience/voters could get a firm grasp of the characters'
skills and abilities and compare them against each other; thus
giving each character a fair chance. The old Clash of the Titans
voters also gave an explanation about why they voted on a
character and why they think that character would win. So the
amount of info (Pros and Cons, Strengths and Weaknesses) would
be an immense factor in voting!!!!!
...
So what do you guys think? Is this cutie little bunny doable?
Hmm?

I don't know, how are you planning to deal with differences
between the games characters could be set in? Presumably LDBs,
Nerevarines, and Madgod ascendants would have to be banned, just
in the interest of it not getting daft?

A first and fair question, Callidus!
Weeeellllll....
We don't actually.
We just pit them against each other. The old Clash of the Titans
Characters were all insanely powerful; some of them were
incarnates, some of them wielded powers given by Daedra Princes
(making them akin to a God). Hell, some of the characters were
even Aliens NOT of Tamrielic origins. No regard for lore
whatsoever! They just did it for fun and it worked out
fabulously! Concerning the timeline differences and all that,
the old Clash of the Titans Guys just chalked it up to one
thing: The Malignant Powers That Be are bored and plucked them
from their respective timelines and just placed them across each
other and forced them to fight.
But they understood that pitting obviously weak characters
against obviously powerful characters are daft, as you say, so
they made a league! A level-scaling, of sorts, so a character
can only fight another character in his own league.
We've got these:
Underdogs: the weakest ones. A fair chance against other
Underdogs but anything above and they're dead meat. The mundane
ones, so to speak.
Normal: the middle ones. Let's say they're a bit above the
normal riff raft.
Master: The elite. Let's say they're at the top of the mortal
food chain; like being at the very utmost peak of their skills
and being unrivaled. Like a warrior who's reached physical
perfection and can easily take down a squad of ten without help.
Or a prodigy Mage who can cast VERY powerful spells.
Godlike: what it says on the tin. They're beyond anything
Tamriel has seen or will ever see. They could put the demigods
of old to shame with their uncomprehendable powers.

I wouldn't mind at all Liz! Funnily enough, I originally wanted
to post this in the RPing section but thought; if I posted this
in the RP section people might want to question why there's no
Active RPing involved since the only thing they can do is vote
and (possibly) debate. But hey, I'll go with whatever! :)

Returns look to Uleni.
Not only did I participate, Sethyas was completely undefeated.
Wasn't up to me either, it was put up for a vote.

My old character (who was not known for finesse in combat
anyways) got pitted against the extremely popular "Serene" from
Minque's story. It wasn't surprising that my character died in
the first round. :D
Rub it in, Black Hand, rub it in. Lol.

@BH: So I guess it really is true. The power of popularity goes
well as an armor! lol
@Kiln: A Godlike opponent for your first match? Ouch. But like
you said, I'm not surprised. She is ranked up there with the
likes of Luper, Taillus and Telina!
So what do you guys think? Think we can do this and have a
revival?

Popularity? Listen you low-blowing cavefish muncher!! Sethyas
expects to be defeated, so he never is.
Funny how that works.

A low-blowing cavefish muncher? Why, you backstabbing (hurrhurr
hubba hubba) hackle-lo blower of an assassin! I oughta...
So Sethyas expects to defeated and never was?
How about being cannibalized by a crazy, combat sadomasochistic,
thrill junkie Breton spy? Does he expect.... Celdryn
Minan'Kherus, Hydra of the Utter Most West, Faery Fay Prince of
Pitilessness, The Killer-King of Bravil? The Golden Knight of
Violence? These are all but names, a sobriquet men tagged him
for they dare not utter this Abhorred One's true name...
Does Mephala's Chosen expect the Angel of Dagon himself?
:(
