From the Ashes; a Casual Roleplaying thread
By: Elisabeth Hollow Date: July 18, 2014, 12:06 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
The sprawling city of Kvatch once again rose high, the fires
long burned out and the ashes blown away.
Yet ghosts still remained.
Through careful planning, the city was built back up in a
relatively short time. The days were filled with bustling
merchants and busy housewives buying bread and meats for their
husband's supper, while the nights were eerily calm with a
stifling disquiet.
Kvatch was build up greater than its former glory, now rivaling
the Imperial city completely in more than just size. An arena
was built, just like the former, attracting large crowds bent on
gambling and winning, as well as fighters wishing to test their
mettle in battle for gold.
Guilds, eager to gain a foothold in the new city, had sent out
agents to gather possible hall locations. The Mages Guild
settled in the Northwest portion of the city, near Castle
Kvatch. The Fighter's Guild settled on the other side of the
castle, nestling the castle between the two.
To the west was the Arena, and the east lay the slums. Seedy
bars with less-than-reputable individuals draped themselves like
a black mourning cloth over the east district.
The south held most of the residences, though those also dotted
the city for those fortunate enough to grab the property off the
market in time.
And in the center of the city lie the market. Goods of all sorts
were bought and sold there, some reputable, some not. Fairs,
festivals, and events not fit for the Arena were held in the
city's center. Stalls and booths sold sweets and goods as well
as piping hot food, restaurants let weary travelers rest their
feet as they ate.
In the north, nestled between his wife and his personal
bodyguard, rested Justus Calvus, Count Kvatch. Lupa Calvus ruled
next to him as wife and councilor.

Here are the rules.
1. This is free-form. You may:
-Makes up quests
-use NPCs to your will
-Name inns, shops, booths, stalls, NPCs, what have you.
-interact with other players
-NOT interact with other players
2. You may NOT:
-Kill a fellow roleplayer WITHOUT THEIR EXPLICIT PERMISSION.
I understand that we all have different styles of roleplaying.
Some like to have a specific goal set up and given the means to
achieve it with help from the DM. Some like to be plopped into a
setting with no goals or expectations. Some like to come in and
cause trouble.
If you get bored and want a quest, message myself or one of the
MODs and we will write one up for you.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE THE THREAD, please make an exit post.
You can come back at any time. But please, don't get balls deep
into a quest or a conversation and leave the person hanging.
That hangs the other person up and is just rude. Yes, I'm
talking to myself.
There will be a discussion thread posted shortly, please enjoy
and ask any questions there!

In the middle of the resurrected city of Kvatch, a Dunmer stood
while rain was falling down and night fastly approached. He
spotted a tavern to his right and decided to head over to warm
himself up, not using his spell for once.
"Maybe there will be someone to talk to there", he thought to
himself...

An Altmer strolled up the road towards Kvatch, the light of the
setting sun caught by his circlet, causing silver to shine like
gold. The rain and the chill in the air bothered him not at all,
failing even to reach him, leaving him in a better mood than
most on the road. As he approached the city gates he began
chuckling softly to himself, and were anyone close enough to
hear, they would have heard him say, as if to an invisible
companion, "Where better to write ones name, than upon a blank
slate."
He was still chuckling softly as he passed the guards, casually
ignoring the strange looks the gave him.
