Hello and welcome to the thread for random but on-topic
discussions :)
This thread is intended to be like The General Discussion thread
but with a bit more seriousness. If there is something going on
in your life that you wanna talk about without the risk of the
whole subject drowning in random posts, this is the place to be.
No spamming for the sake of spamming here.
Did you just buy a new car, moved to a new location or got a new

I am seriously considered giving up buying new games at brick
and mortar stores.
I preordered a game from Game, a game that's released today.
But they don't have it in. I paid a fiver for them to reserve a
copy for me, or to ensure they'd have a copy ordered in for me
(since they didn't get the last game in the series in, which was
the reason for the preorder), and they don't have it in.
That preorder is only good for 48 hours, which I'm assuming
started opening time today. I'll try again tomorrow, and if they
don't have it in then I'm going to demand my money back.

When it comes to physical stores I wanna go there to see the
games and feel them in my hand. If they donīt have it and I
wanna pre-order I do that online. So donīt discard brick and
mortar stores completely, theyīre pretty nice to visit for a
browse :)

Well I traded in a bunch of games a while back, with the intent
of getting this game, so I'd rather get it from the store using
the gift card with the store credit on.
If they don't get it in tomorrow, then they'd better give me my
damn money back, or there's going to be one Hel of an
argument...

Do they seem forthcoming about it or generally customer
friendly? If so it might be better to cool off a bit first, it
might be something they canīt help ;)

It doesn't matter if they can do anything about it or not. I
have paid for a service that they have failed to render. I am
entitled to a refund on those grounds. Once that 48 hours is up
the preorder's worthless.

True. I had to fight an online company about a refund earlier
this year and it was brutal, but I did get the money back. Just
make sure not to yell at them, keep calm and to the point and if
they donīt seem to wanna pay you back only then should you talk
about going to the police. I actually had to mention them and
only then did they eventually pay me back.

Oh I don't plan to yell, that's not my style. When arguing I
prefer to simply bludgeon my opponent into submission with cold,
unyielding logic.
