Computer matters

If you want to talk about computer problems or what kind of OS
you prefer or the bestest sound card EVAHH!!!, hereīs a place
for that :)
For the record Iīm on Windows 7 and my absolutely favourite OS
is without any doubt XP. That stuff could run any game I threw
at it! Any PC game anyway... :P

Tonight I plan to start up all three puters at home. My primary
will get a virus signature update + a new "save point" and the
other two will just be on for exercise purposes ;D

So yesterday I decided to make some backups of programs on my
oldest puter (Win 3.1) in case it drops. I know I shouldnīt jinx
it but cīmon, I have to be able to talk about it...

I wanted to transfer them to my Millennium puter because not
only do they work on it, from there I can also upload them to my
flashdrive. I can only use 3.5" disks for the first step and
fortunately I found one just laying about! I should have more
somewhere but one was sufficient for now. I was able to fully
transfer Chipīs Challenge which was my main focus, and then I
moved on to copy savegames of CyClones, Duke Nukem 3D and Wolf
3D plus some other stuff. I donīt have to bother with the rest
of the games because I have those on CDs so I can just install
them at any point. Next step is to copy Jezzball and Maxwellīs
Maniac.
I did encounter some problems, though. Because many of these
programs are not installed in their own folders, the files are
scattered all over the place and itīs sometimes very hard to
figure out which file belongs to which program. I wasnīt able to
copy Paintbrush and some of the images Iīve made, but most of
them I could transfer and I might even show them here sometime!!
:D

I'd forgotten all about Paintbrush... God I used to LOVE that
program!! Couldn't draw to save my life, but loved it none the
less!! lol!
And I concur on the XP front! Definitely by far the best OS!
lol!

Thank you for not making me look even more crazy (if that was
possible!) by talking to myself here! :D
Yeah, Paintbrush is awesome! And I did finally manage to fully
copy it and getting it to work on the Millennium puter :) Iīve
made some snassy images over the years and I promise to show
them to ya at some point! ;D

But that's the point... We're all crazy here!! ;D
Yes, I'd like to see those images! I always wondered at the
possibilities that could be created by Paintbrush (since I had
not a clue!! lol!)

The puter used to run a program called TabWorks that doesnīt
work anymore, but essentially it arranged the desktop in a
completely other way than what is shown here. I miss it but
canīt get it back because the files have been corrupted.
Anyway, hereīs some pixies! Iīll put up more later from
Paintbrush :)

I donīt like torrent stuff, too much uncertainty there for me. I
might have the program on [s]floppy[/s] disk but I donīt think
so. No biggie, Iīve had it like this for years now and Iīm used
to it :)

Just ran Scandisk on my Millennium puter. About time, it seems.
Last time was 5261 days ago.... ;D
And just now I got Duke Nukem 3D to work flawlessly!!! :D :D
