I really need to get around to playing the old Fallout Games. I
picked up the Fallout Collection (Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics)
ages ago, but I've never even gotten as far as installing them.
       :(

From what I understand, it might be worth skipping 1 and going
straight to 2; it's still got the turn-based CRPG gameplay,
which is quite a turnoff for me, but from what I've heard/read 2
has much stronger writing and worldbuilding.

Or at least try out the first game, if nothing else just to make
up your own opinion about it :)

I´ve been away from FO3 but I´m now back again and it feels
       goooooooooooooooood! ;D
I stay with my usual routine; running around with GNR pumpin´
       whilst collecting things n´ shootin´ stuff :D

Well, earlier I got rid of Fallout 3 and the expansions.
Never could get back into the game...

Partly it's the console limitations. Being something of an
energy weapons junkie, the fact that those ash and goo piles
will kill my save sooner or later sucks.
Add to that the fact that they are inferior to small guns,
lacking a reliable sniper due to the bugged gauss rifle, and I
found them to be virtually useless when I took a try at Point
Lookout. Then there's the lack of variety for them, outside of
the expansion that shall not be named.
But ultimately, there's something about the game that doesn't
grab me. When it comes to playing an open-world game, I'd much
rather play Oblivion. I also find it much harder to roleplay in.
So I figured, I've not played it in ages, I never really got
back into it after my first playthrough of the basic game (Gods,
was that ending awful), and I didn't have any urge to play it,
so I didn't see any point in keeping it. I probably should have
gotten rid of it ages ago...

You will regret that decision later when your own Collector
       awakens within ye... ;D ;D
