The Assassin's Creed discussion thread...
By: McBadgere Date: April 30, 2014, 6:06 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Trying again here, well, just because I can...
So, I like Assassin's Creed a lot and can't wait for any news of
the next games...Yes, games...There's two incoming, according to
rumours...No, not the Fleetwood Mac album...
But I've loved this series since I finally picked the first one
up cheap, whist buying a separate game for &^$%-ing brother some
years ago...One of them 2 for £15 deals, y'know?...
Anyways, if you, like me...Kinda like the games, let's
chat!!...Otherwise, I shall spam the thread by myself with
exciting News(tm)!!!...Yes I will!!!...

So, McB...
AC3's pretty much a standalone in terms of plot?
And if I wanted to check out the series then Black Flag's the
place to start?

Erm...AC3 moves location very well...It being in the Americas
and all...It is Glorious in the Frontier...Simply
beautiful...And there's plenty of side-things to do in it...
The story's cool...And it builds excellently...It's pretty close
to being my fave of the series actually...
No, it's not standalone in terms of the Desmond story...It's the
denouement of it actually...
People complain that Connor Kenway, the "Hero" of it, is very
boring...He's pretty straightforward, driven, single minded...No
nonsense and decent...In short...Not Ezio...And people thought
that he was dull...I like him myself...Grumpy but decent and
all... ;D ...So you'd have to make your own mind up with that...
But AC IV is its own game entirely...Everything is completely
separate from the others, other than the references that creep
in...Hard to say much without spoilers...Which you may have seen
anyways...But still... ;D ...
Definitely worth trying that one if not AC3...It's a lot of fun
and there's just hours you can lose hunting ships and stuff...
:D ...

Well, picked up AC3, because it's a damn sight cheaper than
Black Flag.
I'll likely be back to talk about it later...

Fair dues... :) ...
Haytham, the dude you play first, is my absolute fave character
in the entire series...He is Awesome(tm)...The novel for the
game, Forsaken, is basically his story...And is also, as I say,
awesome...
Oh, once more with the fair dues...*Applauds*... :) ...

Well, fired up AC3, and just reached Boston. Looks good so far,
but then again I've not seen much of it yet...

Spend as long as you can with Haytham...(I use him to unfog all
the map)...He is just so...Swaggy... ;D ....
Another bonus is that you can kill as many of the Redcoats as
you want without the notoriety going up...And all the monies
that you loot stay with you once you become Connor...

Aye...Seriously, if you can get the novel cheap it adds so much
to the whole first third of the game...
Y'enjoying it so far then?...

Well, I've not done much yet, just meeting JOhnson or whatever
his name was and the first mission. I was a little disappointed
to find regenerating health, and the combat seems a little
detached, but that could well be just because I'm nowhere in the
game.
And I found one of those damn almanac pages, after missing three
attempts at catching one.
I'll keep at it.
