Tazmanian Tiger

The Thylacine or Tasmanian Tiger was a large carniverous
marsupial which once flourished in Tasmania, New Guinea, and
parts of Australia.
With the advent of farming and the creatures eating habits, it
soon fell foul with the ever growing population of farmers, so
much so that a large bounty was placed on them. The last known
wild Thylacine was shot by farmer Wilf Batty in 1930 and the
last captive animal name "Benjamin" died in Hobart Zoo in 1936.
This is a sad ending to an animal which lived its life in a
fashion not compatible to mankinds requirements.
But have are they extinct? Did a small pack manage to hide and
survive in some deep remote wooded area? ....Well maybe !
There have been many many reports since the mid 1950s of the
occasional lone sighting, but in the past 10 yrs these sightings
have become more numerous as if the numbers of Thylacine are
growing.
There are now reports from the Australian mainland where it
became extinct in the 1830s. But until a live specimen is caught
we can only speculate and hope that the accounts, photos and
videos are all real.
