My Matrix

I have a paranoia/conspiracy theory that i am not actually
living in the real world. I am hooked up to a machine, and all
the scientists of the real world are observing it. they have
created a complex world mirroring a possibility in reality for
me to live in. They throw scenarios at me and see how i would
react to them. The rest of the world doesn't exist beyond where
i have gone to, it has all been fabricated to make me believe
there is more beyond what i have seen. if i were to wander in a
direction i have never gone before, they would generate more of
the world based on what they have told me so far. I don't know
if it is just me they are observing because i am special, or a
handful of people to see different reactions to the same
scenarios. if it is multiple people, are we all existing within
the same supercomputer? and anybody i tell would either tell me
that my idea is ridiculous because that is what they as an a.i.
are programmed to say, or else they will agree with me to offput
my suspicion. I can think of no way that would prove this theory
wrong.

hmm...well, i would argue that I know for a fact that I am not a
fabricated being made to test you, but this argument is very
thin because you have no way of knowing if Im programmed to say
that lol but it is a very interesting theory that I'll probably
ponder when I'm bored in chemistry...

You're right, looking at the world subjectively like you are,
there is no way of convincing you if you are right or not.
However, on another note, how do you know that you, yourself, is
not simply a construct? What if you are simply a tulpa, or a
sentient program? Or hell, why not go all out and wonder if we
are dreaming? Or dead? Or if we were even alive? My point is,
reality is purely speculative, and we have no way of knowing or
understand what being "real" is. We have nothing to compare it
too. The state of existence is dependent on the state of
nonexistence, which again, is purely speculative. What defines
reality for you?
