Quotes of Everything, Nothing, and Somethings In-between

---------------------------------------------------------
This thread is for quotes...whether hilarious, inspirational,
depressing, or controversial. Let discussion be spurred by and
inspired by great words; whether of wisdom or idiocy. Thread
Rules: 1) When you reply, post a quote (should be at the end of
the post, but no always. Also, if more than one quote in the
post above, you only need to do one. Everything else is extra
credit). 2) Analyze others, tell us what you think he or she
meant by those words 3) in what ways does the quote pertain to
you? How do you relate?
"We accept the love we think we deserve." - Charlie.
I really find this quote to be sad. Kind of depressing, really.
How many people have given up finding happiness because they
thought they could find nothing better?
"I did not come here looking for a fight!" - Alice
"Well that's a pity, cuz a fight has certainly found you." -
Cheshire Cat (Alice: Madness Returns)
How many times have we tried to be friends with someone only for
conflict to be thrust upon us? To me, this quote means that
while we may be resentful to fight, in the end, we have no
choice. Such is life, I guess. We want to get through life being
happy and having everything handed too us, and yet, we have to
fight, struggle, to get what we want out of life. What say you,
my fellow posters?

Well, here is another one :)
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability
of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a
placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of
infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The
sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto
harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of
dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of
reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall
either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into
the peace and safety of a new dark age."
-H.P. Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu
