Ok this is the new, revised version of chapter 1 and now... all
new... CHAPTER 2!!!
Chapter 1:
Thomas was just a normal teenager, living in a small town, /MMM/
it was called, famous for its markets and had been for much of
history. He always made himself busy, even though he didn’t have
to. He longed for adventure, this small town, he felt,
diminished him and his potential. He wasn’t expecting adventure,
but it happened one day, quite unexpectedly.
He was out walking, for he was particularly fond of walking,
when he saw an old man in the street, lying, quite still. The
old man had something clutched in his hand – it was a flyer,
from the village of /NNN/ near Bournemouthshire, it was a plea,
to dispose of /VVV/ which had been roaming the lands. He
immediately backed away, for he did not want that sort of
adventure! But he couldn’t put it out of his mind. Was that what
he must do for adventure? He had decided, that night he would
leave his small town of /MMM/ and leave for /NNN/. He gathered
his belongings he wanted to bring with him. He found some
clothes to take with him on this journey – Some patched up
trousers, a comfortable T-shirt and a Jacket, he also wore a
long flowing cape as well. He found his sword and scabbard and
attached them to his belt. At last, he was ready, ready for
adventure!
He stepped outside his door, and looked back at the quaint
little cottage which he had spent his whole life in, his stomach
churned at the prospect of leaving his lovely cottage behind. He
turned back to the path ahead and walked.
He had obtained a map that would lead him to Bournemouthshire
and /NNN/ and had plotted out a route. He would have to go
through fields and woodland, across mountains and rivers, and
the journey would take approximately two weeks on foot.
Bournemouthshire was south of /MMM/ and that is the way he went.
He had only walked a few miles when he stopped. His name was on
a poster, ordering his arrest! He knew he had to leave his name
behind. He didn’t know what his new name would be, that would
come later when he actually needed a name. As he walked on, the
sign vanished, although he was not aware of this.
He walked on and came to a mighty forest. “This must be the
forest of ignotis” he thought to himself. Literally translated,
ignotis means unknown. He was not aware of this fact and
proceeded straight in to the forest. “Just follow the path
through the forest. I shall be out in no time” he said to
himself. No sooner had he said this, the path started to fade
and the canopy of the trees began to obstruct the light, it was
almost complete darkness and he knew nothing of what lay ahead
of him. He started a fire and lit a torch to help him see. The
second when the torch was lit, the fire extinguished itself. Out
of the nothingness of the forest he heard a deep booming voice
saying “do not try to burn the forest!” He looked around,
looking for whatever had made that sound, yet he could see
nothing. He continued on his route, constantly trying to look
for the path where he could make sure he was back on track. He
looked around and stumbled ever forward, thinking that if he
stayed in the same direction he would eventually find the exit.
He knew that he entered the forest from the north and that he
would get out if he went directly south. The safe path wound
through the forest, in order to avoid the forest heart, but if
he had any hope of escaping, he knew that he would have to go
straight through – even if that meant going straight through the
forest heart! Suddenly, he heard a noise, tripping over a tree
route, he fell over. He looked up, and in the distance he saw a
wolf-like creature with sharp, drooling fangs and red, burning
eyes. He didn’t know what it was and didn’t particularly want
to! He drew his sword nevertheless and proceeded forward towards
this wolf-like creature, for he couldn’t stray from his path for
even a little, for the fear of being lost.
He walked carefully towards the wolf-like creature. All of a
sudden the wolf-like creature turned and charged at him, he
raised his sword and ran at it too, as they met near the middle,
he swung his sword and cut the wolf’s head clean off! Panting,
he sat down, and as he did, he heard the ear piercing sound of
more wolves. He got up and began to run, not caring which
direction he went! Thankfully he saw the path and made for it
and a few minutes later he saw the exit, guarded, by three angry
wolves. He knew he was outnumbered, hopelessly. As the wolves
walked towards him, he clutched his sword ever more tightly and
broke into a run, the wolves ran at him and he swung, and
stabbed one and it fell back, wimpering and then lying still –
this seemed to infuriate the other wolves and one tore a hole in
his trousers, he turned and struck this one down too. The last
wolf, larger than the others, turned and charged again at him,
knocking him over. He raised his sword and slew the beast, and
made for the way out and freedom.
Chapter 2:
Thomas had escaped the forest of ignotis, now knowing what was
inside and made a note to himself to find a different route
back. The path led towards a small village called Meadowdown and
he found an Inn where he slept for the night, cursed with
nightmares of the wolves. He went downstairs the following day
and went to pay. “You look shattered!” the man at the desk said.
“I didn’t sleep well.” Thomas replied
“Wolves?” The man asked, Thomas nodded, “here, have some of
this” the man handed me a small electric blue vial.
“What is it?” Thomas asked, inquisitively.
“This is the renati potion, it restores you.” Thomas looked at
the vial, it looked vile, but he pulled the lid off and drank it
in one – it tasted like a strange mix of burning coal and
lemons. He winced, but he did feel better afterwards.
He set off from the village and after checking the map and
looking for landmarks, he knew he was lost. He also had the
feeling that he was being watched, which was never a good
feeling. He continued walking across the vast plains in search
of any sort of landmark so he could tell where he was. He got
out the map and spread it across the dirt in front of him,
looking around for ANY point of reference. Suddenly he was
jumped by someone he did not know. He was knocked back and
suddenly an arrow was thrust in his face. He covered his face,
not knowing who it was who jumped him, and unable to see any
detail as they were in silhouette due to the sun.
“Stop now or I will shoot.” It was a girl’s voice. He squinted
trying to work out who was attacking him. He tried to sit up,
but he was pushed down again. “Don’t move”
“Who... are you?” he asked, still trying to make out who was
standing there and pointing an arrow in his face.
“My name is Kiera” she said “Who are you?”
“My name is Thomas” he blurted out – he had completely forgotten
to try and make up a new name!
“Well, what are you doing here?”
“I... um...”
“Speak!” she brought the arrow ever nearer to his face.
“I was responding to the plea from /NNN/ near Bournemouthshire,
they have a /VVV/ infestation there and I was kinda thinking
that I could go and help and now I am lost and confused!”
“You are on the great plain of runcina” she said “and this is
where I go, when I am not defending Bournemouthshire and all of
the places around it – including Glenton and /VVV/”
“How far are we from Bournemouthshire then?” Thomas asked,
hesitantly.
“About half a day’s walk” she replied, retracting her bow “You
know, whilst you are the same height as me, you do remind me of
a halfling”
“Do I? I suppose, where I come from we all look similar, so I
would not know.” An awkward silence fell across them and they
looked at each other.
“Can you show me the way?” Thomas asked, holding up his map.
“I could...” Kiera said, she was clearly toying with him.
“Please.” Thomas started to get up, and when he stood up, Kiera
said
“I can do better than that, I can guide you there – it is only
half a days walk, and I needed to head back there anyway.”
“Thank you!” Thomas exclaimed, “I could really use the help!”
“Calm down, hobbit” she said, “I have only agreed to guide you
to Bournemouthshire, nothing more.” Kiera picked up the map and
looked at it “This map is old, no wonder you got lost! Follow
me.”
Thomas had now stood up, he dusted off his clothes and started
walking, following Kiera.

Oh I see!!! well I was just pointing out a fact, whilst he is a
normal sized person, he reminds Kiera of a halfling, is that not
clear?

I'm taller, and if you were to be a good story teller, you would
have your characters in character- not OOC

Not by much, and it is SERIOUSLY close!!!
Also, as the characters are all of us, then as we are the
characters we must speak from ourselves!

Ok, have you read RAoRA? In there, you will find that despite
the fact Rita hates me, I have some awesome lines and actually
have the same view point as I do IRL (mostly) It doesn't matter
if Rita has a different view point as it is Kiera's view point
she is writing about. I also get some awesome lines as I have
awesome line IRL. Change it, then deal with it. Milk 100+ extra
words by putting in an argument, whatever, just get your
character right!
