Where do you guys stand between Rubber Soul and Revolver? Some
people believe they're two sides of the same coin.

Looks like a fascinating film Luke.
I think "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" are distinctly different
       albums.
"Rubber Soul" was a lot more sophisticated group of songs than
they had ever created before. They went into making the album
with the idea they were done touring, so they could write and
record more complex tunes that they wouldn't be bound to
re-create onstage. It freed them musically.
They really left the rails with "Revolver". They had completely
become a studio band and experiment was the order of the
day...The Labels didn't bother them because they knew the guys
were money no matter what. Plus they had the best producer and
engineers in the business to help them realize what ever they
wanted to do musically. It was an incredible period of
       creativity for them.

...You know....I never realized that they wrote and recorded
"Rubber Soul" in thirty days.....That is fucking amazing. I mean
with the exception of "Run For Your Life"...that is a complex
group of songs to write and record and mix in a MONTH.
"Run for your life" is probably the most similar song to their
work pre-Rubber Soul to my ears anyway.
