Si. AJ,
talked to them yesterday morning...they are fine, but like a
Million other Puertorriqueños, that are without power. Papi has
a generator.
gracias for your concern.

Was reading in the paper this morning about the sit down
there...Sounds like the State owned and operated power grid is
kind of janky anyway. What with the dismal financial situation
down there sounds like bad news on top of more bad news.
Glad your kin is ok though man....We can replace everything but
people.

At some point, we will have to look squarely at what I see as
the problem. People. People wanting to live everyplace.
Sucking up marshlands and other natural barriers. Too many of us
humans living too large. Sucking up ground which used to suck
up excess water. I was told that the mangroves along some
coastal areas used to be natural barriers for storms. But
they're too valuable for developers to be concerned with that.
We need more Elon Musks and way fewer Donald Trumps. The long
view vs. short term profit.

All is good AJ, they are kind of used to it..weirdest thing..the
relatives in Vega Baja Northeast of the Island got hit with some
heavy rains that caused some mudslides..a giant boulder broke
loose from a mountainside and squashed a neighbors detached
barn .., no one was hurt, but the son restores vintage cars for
some rich guys, and a rare 57 chevy Hardtop and a 67 VW were
turned into scrap metal...
The people in Vega Baja never lost power. ( my familia)
In Ponce where my FIL lives, the grid went down early at the
first strong winds.
My place was unscathe.
Just some trees down,..only lost power sporadically due to
trees..
We had nothing in the fridge but ice cubes..they are probably
gone now.. :)
God rest their souls.

Well thank the Godz your Peeps and your Home Away From Home was
unscathed, and now awaiting you with the peace and joy the place
brings you...That's all capital news my Bruddah.
But not all good....A 57 Chevy and a '67 Bug gone pains my heart
truly...I had a '65 and a '70 bug and loved the damned things to
death....My boss is in the process of restoring a '57 Chevy Bel
Air now....So I hate to hear of that... :'(
