Thanks Nick. We hanging tough for far. Three family members have
been evacuated, hoping no more have to be.
It's wet down here though and the rain just doesn't want to
stop.
Thanks for thinking about me though Buddy.

I heard a promo for an NPR interview. It was about efforts to
restore sand on North Carolina's Outer Banks. A geologist said
it's a fools errand.
I think we're in for some amazing times.

I agree with the geologist. Tourism is a major business there
however. Climate change be damned! Sunbathers gotta bath!

I would tell them to go pound sand.

I head someone from Houston (again on NPR) describing how the
water climbed higher and higher in his house. I think he said
that it got up to the ceiling. He was saying that his wiring and
insulation and what not was also being ruined. He said that
even his flood insurance wouldn't cover it all, being as bad as
it was.
I heard someone after (I think it was) Katrina saying there
wouldn't be a Miami or New Orleans in say 200 years.
It's sad.

Trying to get around in Houston is nerve racking during normal
conditions. Now with all the closures it's a completely lower
circle of Hell that even Dante couldn't envision. I've traveled
cross county today but coming home was the worst. Took 1 1/2
hours to traverse 14 miles.
The west bound side of I-10 was down to one lane due to Langham
Creek going out of it's bank and flooding the freeway. As I
creeped by I saw the Highway Boyz at work...With what is
essentially a 1/2 long innertube they've pressed against the
Freeway barrier wall, and are now pumping the water out of the
lanes.
Amazing really. On the other side of the barrier was a guy in a
boat and he was level with the barrier wall...That means the
water on the other side is about 15 feet deep.
This town is waterlogged...And I found enough broke shit today
to keep me busy for a week.
