       the Ghetto Palace

       a good friend that lives here in PC has a private home venue
       called “the ghetto palace”.   its invitation only and nobody is
       there to get laid or get drunk... much...  every person in the
       audience is a musician, and theyve all come to see what kinda
       chops you may have.  Crook is the road/tour manager for CS&N and
       has been for many years. the rolling stones did a short
       christmas tour a few years back... that was Crooks doing as
       well.  steel wheels or something...and he’s a crack drummer as
       well!  he offers young talent ways into the industry and is a
       stand up guy.   i met him through my wifes veterinary work, we
       helped his dad with some cats, and he invited me to the next
       event, which i forgot about until he called me three days before
       and asked what slot i would prefer playing...   it was my “in”
       to the musicians in the area and i ended up with quite a bit of
       work from that evening and several friends that have become
       brothers.
       i miss this kinda shit...

       these folks were there to get laid and get drunk, mostly...  but
       they were fun and tipped like drunken sailors... fella on the
       right, at the bar wearing a black ball cap tipped me two C notes
       and a 50 for playing requests...  i miss the fuck outta these
       folks too...

       What cool venue and how fortunate you were for getting in there!
       I’m quite sure those generous tips were well earned and
       deserved!
