Felt like Steely Dan

Have a bunch of Dan on my mp3player in my work truck. Been
listening to cuts in between calls all day
Still some of the best music ever. Becker and Fagan were
geniuses.

They had a fascinating thing going on. You know, neither Becker
or Fagen played a single instrument on "Katy Lied"? They wrote
all the music, then hired favorite musicians to execute it.

their mix! so clean! i think i saw an interview about how
they left “space” in between the instruments in the mix... no
crowding, squeezing in erry lil bit on every tack... clean,
uptown... the epitome of smoooove... i really like skunk
baxter too...

....and Larry Carlton...Elliot Randall. Not to mention all the
top drawer bassists, drummers, horn players. They created some
amazing music and got the best players around to make every
record special.
