Tomorrow I shall journey..,,

...to see The Lad in Huntsville. Taking my new Tacoma there.
Bought it the week before Christmas and have only put 300 miles
on it. Interested in gas mileage aspects at cruising speeds.
Short hops to the grocery store etc. am only getting 18 mpg.

Will gather some groceries up to take to him. Gonna grill some
chicken and pork chops, seal em and freeze them so I know at
least he’ll get some proteins at some points.

Well the jaunt went well. Put a little over 200 miles on the
truck. Averaged 21 mpg. It handles pretty well for a mid sized
truck. The radar assisted cruise control is quite handy. It
slows you down to the speed of the vehicle ahead of you is
going, with several car lengths to spare. When you move over to
a faster lane, it automatically returns you to your cruising
speed.
The Lad was happy to see me, and all the groceries. We went out
and had Chinese for lunch. The trailer was surprisingly tidy and
squared away. He has a couple of professors this term he had
last term that he likes and like him. Left there happy.

sounds like a good journey! i like the radar cruise control but
one thing about it... if i get behind someone gradually slowing
or under the speed limit and im not paying attention, imcan end
up travelling miles before i realize im not making good time.

That’s a complaint I’ve heard from others as well. I noticed it
about myself too. It is a subtle operation, and easily ignored I
guess.

My sister's Murano has adaptive cruise control. She likes it,
too.
