Speechless

.., I am. I don’t even know what to say about the events in DC
today.
It’s horrifying.
I’m astounded in the numbers of people that Trump has deluded
with his lies.
I only hope the saner core of the Republican party can silence
the hangers on to the Trumpwagon, and get this confirmation
process done, and get on with the serious issues facing this
country. I also hope the Democrats don't fuck this chance all up
by getting drunk with their slim majority powers and try to cram
too much in to the next two years.
I just want some level of compromise demonstrated by all
parties. This country is in crisis....In all quarters.
Hell...The whole Goddamned World is in crisis. This planet is in
crisis too. And it's the only spaceship we have that can carry
us all.

It was with a heavy heart that I watched the goings-on
yesterday. :(
I felt even worse when I found out that there were similar,
although much smaller and non violent, protests going on in a
few cities in Canada. :'(
This strong polarization of opinions is starting to scare the
crap out of me.
I have no words other than, "Be safe, my friends."

I was curious, so I went down the Google rabbit hole.
Turns out this was said by Thomas Paine. It was the opening line
in a series of pamphlets called "The American Crisis."
Seems like a fitting quote, all things considered. :(

That is irony....I really could not remember where I had heard
that quote. Ironic it was from one of USA’s original rebels.
Funny that a very good Canadian buddy of mine schooled me on it.
