I just ordered my 2021 copy of Band In A Box

I buy it every year around this time.
They have a pretty decent sale on for December.
I don't really need it, but what the hell. ;D

its faster to just learn the piece on another instrument as to
figure out the programming and have it sound like anything...
noise genre? mebbe...

I'm afraid I'm not talented enough to take that approach, but if
I did, you can bet I would use BiaB to make myself some tracks
to practice along with.
I use it as much as a practice tool as I do for recording/making
backing tracks for my duo work.
YMMV. :)

no, i get it. i used to have this device... primitive machine
that wound and unwound tape past a pickup thingy... push “play&
record “ at the same time and it recorded stuff without need of
a five week intensive course on plug in installation and cobol
xs-venusian puter language. primitive but ofdly satisfying in
that i could concentrate on the piece i was composing instead of
worrying about what that light means and how do i get back to
the... fuck... erased everything, again... what was that
bridge again??? grrrrrr... lol! yeah, i know...quality of
sound and all that, digital and clean, like sterile... funny, i
had another machine with bigger tape reels... simple 4 track
teac tascam that you pushed play and record... let it spin...
my buddy in tallahassee had his shit all in one sock, when folks
first started into the digital recording and sold off the
quality stuff cheaply...he set up a beautiful analog home
studio, for pennies on the dollar...

They actually have software to add tape hiss back into
recordings. WTF? But I get ya. That’s why I bought the Tascam
thing. The whole front end is analog. Just the recorder is
digital. I gotta have sliders and knobs.
