       Planning 2021's garden
       By: guest13 Date: December 21, 2020, 3:21 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The feller I bought barrels from last year---we've kept in
touch. His son gets them from an importer of pickles from India.
He sells them to me for $20 apiece. He's about 25 minutes north
of me. I get two planters out of each 63 gallon barrel. Gonna
buy at least 10 more (all my pickup will hold at once). He says
he expects to have them for the foreseeable future. I have a
great source of soil nearby that I have been doing bidness with
for years. He takes good care of me. Ron Dennis Landscape
       Supply---$28/yard garden mix---50% compost/50% loam. $30
delivery fee (about a mile). Great soil, great service. He dumps
it where I ask him to.
I have cleared space for about 12 more half barrels. More beans!
Jeez, if I had acreage, I'd be a bean farmer.
So. Six barrels cut in half. That leaves four. 250+ gallons
capacity. Modify my 320 gallon rainwater reservoir to overflow
into them. I need more capacity. Rainwater reserves has been a
chronic problem in my gardening endeavors. I get plenty of rain,
I just don't have storage. June and July are typically high-need
months without enough rainfall. Gonna deal with that. Got a
3/4HP submersible pump that does the job of pushing it where I
       need it to go.
My concern is that the trailer park management will fuck with me
about it. But as my uncle Stutterin' Alf famously said:
"F-f-fu-fu-fuck 'em!". They've tried to shut me down
before---but I got approval to do this from previous park
managers and have documentation---and my neighbors (whom I bribe
with fresh veggies) have my back! DanO shall prevail.
