There is a ice storm predicted within 24 hours. Maybe this will
get me out of work Monday....I hope...
I also hope the lights stay on. All the utilities are buried in
our neighborhood, but not the transmission lines feeding them.
The emphasis here on infrastructure defense leans mostly towards
hurricane like conditions. Heavy rains and winds. Not weighty
ice on lines. So we shall see.
Most of my worry lies a 100 miles north, where the Lad lives.
Quite hilly and rural. Bad business with icy roads.

Sleeting and snowing out now. Not going to be above freezing
temps for several days. The Boss already called and said to just
stay home tomorrow, roads are bad and getting worse.
In the good news department, the Lad made it home from work
fine, and classes are canceled for the next several days, so I
don't have to worry about him being on the roads for a few days.
He's well stocked with food and coffee, and no reason to leave
the trailer. As long as he and I both have power, we all gud.
May mess around with some musical play tomorrow.

Lost power Sunday night and didn’t get it back until noon today.
A pipe burst about 2 today. Glad I was home. Quick trip to the
hardware store for a galvanized nipple and about a half hour of
work. Good to go and house slowly warming up.
Was a miserable 36 hours. But now, heat, coffee, WiFi.
Waiting on the next front to roll in. Gonna be worse before it
gets better.

I was thinking about you, Jim, especially when I heard about the
blackouts. It's not good to be without power at any time, but
when you need it for heat...
Glad you got your plumbing issue sorted out, and I hope you
caught it before it did too much damage. Stupid winter. >:(
Hopefully, the juice will stay up for the next round. I've got
my fingers crossed for you, buddy!

Ever since we thawed, we have been deluged with service calls.
Busier than a billy goat with 2 dicks. Early morning to late at
night.

Extreme conditions have a nasty way of pointing out all of the
weak spots in mechanical systems. >:(
