Just sealed the deal on a butterscotch Squier Tele with
hardshell tweed case out of St. Pete FL for $250 shipped.
I cruise FB Marketplace regularly seeking deals like this.
This is the same platform as AJ's guitar.
Very enthused 8)

Cool! It should be bonus time at the shop soon and I may pick up
another instrument as well. I’m thinking something along the
lines of a Tele modern player layout. S/S/H.

It's always a challenge to get singles and buckers to balance
together. I've fiddled with pot and cap values, tried stacked
pots, never got it quite to my satisfaction, but close. Got one
in the queue now, a MIM Tele, that'll have its stock neck single
and a Seymour Duncan Lil 59 in the bridge. Consulting with my FB
pal Anthony, owner of Lucky Dog guitars, for some ideas. He
mixes pickups on his guitars a lot and they sound great.
I'm stuck on that dang Osage orange offset Tele! Finally got the
stain the way I want it, using 00 steel wool to take the stain
off the bindings---finding many small scratches in the bindings
that the stain has settled into, not coming off with this. Also,
the neck is slightly wider at the nut than standard Fender
spec---that's good, I like that---but I won't be able to use a
pre-cut nut on it, I'll have to fab one up from scratch. I can
do that, it just takes time.
Oh well. Keeps me off the street.

It has arrived.
Wow.
Not a chip or a scratch. 100% functional. Spanky and deep like a
Tele should be.
The case tweed has a couple blisters---but so what? Beat up the
case, protect the guitar!
Nice strap included. Allen wrenches for the truss rod and
saddles (add them to the collection).
$250 well spent 8)

Ran the serial number. Made in the Cort factory in
Indonesia---in 2020! Doggone thing is all but brand new! "Fender
special run"--- don't know the significance of that. Full-size
nut width (1 11/16") and body thickness (1 1/2").
Lifted the hood. Plastic import switch, dime-sized
wide-tolerance Alpha pots, cheap poly cap, tiny vinyl-coated
wire, shitty soldering. Expected that. All will be changed.
Typical nonsense Tele jack cup---got a couple Electrosockets in
stock. It will get one.
Haven't pulled the pickups yet. These actually sound pretty good
for this level instrument. I have a couple sets of my buddy
Drew's custom wound Tele pickups not dedicated to a project, so
I'll probably put a set of those in here. 4- or 5-way switch.
First I gotta find my benchtop. Two guitars, 3 necks on it now,
tools everywhere, big fookin' mess.
