maybe you are already aware of it - but Blackadder was a comedy
show in the uk, with each series being based in a different time
in british history. "Blackadder Goes Forth" was the 4th series,
and was set on the western front, in the midst of WW1. this was
the end of the final episode, and i still find it one of the
most moving pieces of television i have ever seen. the entire
series is fantastic, and i recommend watching the entire thing
if you can - but this part was outstanding. bear in mind these
are characters we have grown to love during the series, and when
i saw this as an 8 year old in 1989 i was learning about ww1 and
2 at the time, so it really stuck with me. it was probably the
first time my eyes welled up because of something on a
television screen. for such a funny show, this really was the
most sombre way they could have ended it
(and yeah, that's Mr Bean, and Dr House before they went
       global!)

You know I think I saw a couple of episodes of an earlier,
medieval, season on public television, but a long time ago.
I’ve always enjoyed British comedy. That clip you posted was a
       good one.
