       No interest I guess.
Anyway, although it’s of Asian manufacture, it’s a hefty, well
made instrument. The switches are quiet, the pots as well.
Haven’t tried out all the combos on the pickups yet, but very
good output on all. The action is decent, could stand a setup.
Intonation is good. First, I just hooked it up direct, through
the board and out the monitors. Very clean tones, and a wide
range just using the pickups and tone and treble pots on the
instrument. Very bass tones on the top four and nice baritones
on the bottom two. Will run it through the amp tomorrow.

I'm interested! When did that arrive?
I've never seen one IRL but it's a unique concept. What are the
string gauges, and how are they tuned?
There are Squiers and Squiers. Several different lines/levels.
Some are rather chintzy, some are quite nice. The quality of the
Korean and Indonesian ones has been good, in my experience. That
last Strat I picked up is an Indonesian Squier, and it's a very
nice instrument for a reasonable amount of dough. Of course I
had to mod the snot out of it, but that's me.
       Tell me more!

The strings are 0.84 to 0.24. It has a nice “c” neck, laurel
fingerboard. The pickups are controlled via 3 slide switches,
and a switch that cuts the low end out of all 3.
The thing has a stick! I haven’t even screwed it in yet but
might be cool. Hell I don’t even use the stick on my Strat
anymore. All in all it’s a pretty sweet instrument. It’s heavy,
like a bass oughta be. Really pretty finish, real old school.
I’ve wanted one since I was a kid in high school. I played bass
then and while I loved my Sears/Danelectro bass, a buddies dad
had a Bass VI and I loved the neck, the sound, the tone. His dad
played through a Bassman and man it was great. Couldn’t afford
one. Since then, the only basses I’ve owned have been a
Kalamazoo EB bass and in the 90’s I bought a Peavey Fury P-Bass.
Hard for these old hands to get around that fat neck and those
big strings. This fits the bill for me. Pretty gassed. I think I
may consider getting some hotter pups for it, but that’s not
       really nessecary at this point.

My little bit of research says these are intended to be tuned an
octave below standard guitar tuning. Is that what you use?
Always been a fan of burst finishes, especially 'bacco burst.
       Tort guards too.
I also am not a wiggle stick user. All of my Strats with vibrato
bridges are decked, except one. The Strat bodies I've had made
       are hardtails.
If you decide to go with replacement pickups, let me know. I got
a guy who winds all my pickups these days. He can do custom
stuff, his quality/sound is great, his prices are reasonable (as
such things go), he's prompt and pleasant to deal with.

I just used the bass setting on my tuner. If I decide I need
different pups, I’ll definitely reach out to you.

I had a similar one, impulse buy, chinese one
did not hold on to it very long
liked it at first but that did not last long
I fixed the bridge removed the springs on the saddles,
shortened the screws to fix the intonation and removed a bit of
       poly finish on the neck
you can buy a set of Fender Bass VI strings, a bit fatter than
the factory strings, .024 to .100
less floppy low E and A strings

I hope I continue liking mine. But guitars are a lot like young
women. A lot of them you love at first, then once you get to
       know them, meh.

like I said, it was an impulse buy
used one, good as new, but about half price so I couldn't resist
I played it for a couple of week, did some adjustments, kind of
along the lines of what is shown in this video (skip to 2'30")
  HTML https://youtu.be/JgUOhxgc-Uo
and put on the Bass VI strings
this was an improvement, but all my guitars are old, well I
sold/traded all my guitars that were less than 40 years old
the Bass VI just did not fit in and I still have a 1958
Danelectro 6 string bass, so I flipped the Bass VI

.....Yeah...... I’m not gonna do all that. It plays and sounds
just fine. Going through my bass amp it has a great sound and a
lot of cool combinations of tones.
