Not so much, not here. The northern lower peninsula has seen
snow already but not this far south.
Today's a fluke---we're expecting thunderstorms this afternoon
with a high of 72(!). The rest of the extended forecast show
lows around 30, highs in the mid 40s. Normal for late October.
Snow for Halloween is not unusual.

Currently 74 and overcast. Looks like the rain may well miss us
to the west.
Got the rest of the beans pulled, the sunflowers pulled, topped
off the half-barrels with soil and straw.
Cinny got off work at noon, off til Tuesday. Worked 8 days in a
row. Fuck this retail job!

Whoa! It did NOT miss us. Raining hard, booming, flashing. My
weather station says it's coming down at 3"/hr.
I kinda like it :)

We got a front today as well! Rain, wind and a refreshing drop
in temps. Gonna be high 50’s in the morning! Then off to
Huntsville to visit with the Lad.

We ended up with 1.32" of rain, according to my weather station
gizmo. Man, it came down HARD for a while there! I love a good
thunderstorm. Now it's 35[sup]o[/sup] F and frost warnings.
This weather station thingamajig is cool. The sensor looks like
a tugboat with a propeller on top, mounted on a 12' pole at one
corner of my deck. Hybrid solar/battery power. Measures
temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall &
barometric pressure. The receiver/readout display plugs into the
AC outlet, mounted on the wall above my desk. It has more
features than I know how to use. Oh, and it measures indoor
temp/humidity too.
This rig, made by Acu>Rite, retails for well over $200. I found
it in a yard sale last July, new in the box (unopened) for $25.
Score!
I already had an Acu>Rite weather station whatchamacallit that I
bought at a hardware store for ~$40 some years ago. Fewer
features/abilities, but still pretty cool. The sensor also had a
propeller to measure wind speed, but my clumsy ass dropped it
and damaged its bearings, so it never worked right after that.
Both parts are battery-powered, which is rather a nuisance. I've
still got it up and running, but next time it needs batteries, I
may retire it. The newer one does more and I've only had to
replace the sensor batteries once after about a year of
dependable service.
So there ya have it---DanO's a weather nerd weenie. What can I
tell ya, this stuff interests me!
