       Procol Harum

Always an amazing band to my ears. I got to see them live only
once, when they toured after their second album. Their lyric
writer, Keith Reid, simply sat on the stage the entire concert,
which I thought was cool. I also thought he wrote some of the
best lyrics ever. I really thought they were one of the first
Prog Rock bands. My favorite album of theirs is "Grand Hotel".
They really became even more keyboard centric after Robin Trower
left the band to start his own band, which I really dug too.
But this is a live performance off "Grand Hotel" and my favorite
cut off of it...It's a hell of a Anti-War song, and starkly
       beautiful.
       "Fires Which Burnt Brightly"

They were a bit too 'dreamy' for me, but I really dug Robin
Trowers stuff after he beat feet from the band.

That song came out in 1967 along with Sgt peppers..it had a
       decided melancholy feel to it..
I was working at a mens clothing store at the time that
summer....There was a local AM radio station that would play it
around 3pm... I would be just really getting into the song and
vibe..then they would play 'all you need is love'..one of my
       least Fave Fab Four songs..
and the mood was lost...not to mention there was an older guy
there that was a tailor, and he would love to sing along...when
he hit the last line, 'love is all you need'...his false teeth
would hit the floor with a resounding 'CLACK' ;D

Where the hell was Candid Camera when we really needed it?
And I still listen to "Bridge of Sighs" regularly. Always
thought that "In This Place" would have made a great Procol
       Harum song....

Never saw that film Imp...But wasn't Handmade Films a George
       Harrison enterprise?
