ive been off crutches for about two weeks and im getting used to
the idea of this cane being another thing ive got to keep track
of, but thankfully it hooks over my arm or neck, or belt/belt
loop, so its easy to find. yesterday i used it to hook some figs
and scuppernog grapes as well as support my ankle and knee. ive
got the llamas coming in close enough, i could probably snag one
easily with it, but ive waited this long, another couple weeks
wont matter and i kinda want them to “not be caught” but rather
come in on their own. turns out that carla wants me add a
t-handle to the cut off piece... she likes the looks of it as
well as it being an effective tool for defense thats always at
       hand.

What happened to put you on crutches Mon Frer?

Sometimes ya just can't win for losin'!
I've been using that metal cane in the house. Getting used to
       it.
       BUT.
Last night I forgot to shut my phone off before I went to bed.
Left it on my desk, about 6' from the foot of the bed. Sure
enough, just after I fell asleep, it rang. I hurriedly got up
and headed for the desk, and...you guessed it...leg folded, down
goes DanO. Fell across the desk chair and onto the floor.
Abraded my back on the right side below my ribs. Banged my head.
Scared poor Cinny half to death. No serious damage,
       just...damned frustrating.
Recently got another mobility aid gizmo. One of those walker
things with wheels and brakes and a seat. Yard sale prize, I
think I gave $5 for it. The nylon bag below the seat was torn
and full of earwigs (eewww) but that's all been removed. Hoping
to use that on shopping trips instead of the Amigos.

       Damn son! Be careful!
I bought a little bedside lamp several months ago that has a USB
port on it. I put my phone on the base each night and it charges
overnight and is right within easy reach if it rings at night.
My phone is also my alarm clock, so it makes perfect sense for
me. The iPhone lights up when it rings or triggers the alarm as
well so it’s easy to see without turning the light on.

It took us quite a while to persuade Mama D to use a walker. It
wasn't until the home-care nurse really started to get on her
case that she actually got one.
       Be safe, Dano.
