Thanks Grindleburk. This is kind of a bittersweet holiday for
me. I guess you know I consider myself an American patriot,
veteran, yadda yadda yadda.
Today is also the 40th anniversary of my father's death. He was
48 years old---heart disease.
I am living on company time. I turn 62 next month.

Thanks Dinks! I’m repairing a bird feeder, extending the pole
for it. All in hopes of keeping these accursed feral cats from
attacking the birds and squirrels I enjoy feeding and watching.
Sorry it’s bittersweet for you Dano. 😔
Later, I’ll grill a t-bone and have a glass or two of port with
it. Then watch my neighbors blow up their money in the skies.

Jealous of your grilling! Haz no good steaks currently---looking
into buying a side of cow, just got to clear some freezer space
first.
Took a good nap earlier cuz there will be no sleeping tonight
with all the fireworks going off. My PTSD-afflicted ass will be
cowering in the corner, clutching a rifle.

One of my late Uncles, who island hopped with the USMC, during
WWII, also suffered from ptsd around the fireworks holidays.
Those were the only two nights of the year when he would have to
get absolutely slammed in order to sleep.
Of all my uncles, he was the kindest and most soft spoken. A
real gentleman.
