We decommissioned a 37 year old coal fired boiler this week; and
replaced it with another newer, but not brand new, one.
It only has to last, hopefully, a couple of years until bro can
get natural gas service at the farm.
It was a very dirty and exhausting job. 37 year old plastic pipe
is simply a joy to work with...
Removing the chimney stack in preparation for demolition.

I didn't get a chance to get any pics of the installation
process.
There was just too much to be done before it got dark.
We had to hurry because we didn't want to risk the water lines
lines freezing over night.
Temps have been unseasonably cool for this time of year.
At any rate, I did get a pic or two of the finished
installation.

For sure. 37 years is a long time for a boiler to run, I'm told.
It was rusted out and was beginning to leak.
Time for a new one.
