A bit of Africa in the air today

Saharan dust to be specific. The sky is a warm, brown color.
Nasty stuff. Kinda glad we have mask mandates in place. This
annual dusting from across the Atlantic plays hell with my
sinuses.

I read about this a couple of days ago.
Around here this time of year it's usually forest fire smoke,
not dust, that is the big contaminant. Not so much this year
with all the rain, though.
Hope your sinuses don't give you too much grief, Jim.

On the other hand, the dust provides rich nutrients for plants,
soil, and the aquatic world as well. Bermuda’s eco structure
needs the stuff.

It was a eerie weather scene here yesterday. Had some light rain
on the way into town. It was literally a muddy rain. The rare
instances when the clouds broke, it has this kind of hazy
reddish brown sky. It is supposed to abate a bit today. The dust
that is.
My sinuses are messed up. Prolly would be worse if I wasn’t
wearing a mask when outside.
