I have an immediate and pressing need for some grill steaks.
Budgeting $25 for some exemplary beef. Don't splurge like this
but rarely---by gawd, it's time.

I try to grill a steak every Saturday night. It's my reward to
myself for living through another week.

Now, Miss Cinny is agitating for an electric pressure canner
device.
We do a lot of vegetable preservation. Use the typical historic
devices---big kettle for hot-water-bath stuff, a big pressure
cooker for the stuff that needs it. Stove top devices. Lots of
fuel, heats up the kitchen significantly.
This thing uses a LOT less energy, is faster, and doesn't create
nearly as much ambient heat. Slightly less capacity than what
we've been using but makes up for it in efficiency. Not cheap at
about $160, but research shows it looks to be well worth it.
We've held onto a bit of that stimulus money. I think this is
where we'll spend it.

Sounds sensible to me. Something you'd get good use out of.
Go for it!

DANG. Chicken leg quarters again with oven-baked mac & cheese.
I love it when Cinny has a day off, she feeds me so well :)
I'm cutting up some rib steaks for jerky. Kinda pricey meat to
use for this---but the results are peerless O0

Ummm! Sounds good amigo! I got a big cauldron of vegetable beef
soup going on the stove, and pork ribs cooking at 250 slow in
the oven. Will finish them on the grill in an hour or so. Doing
the ribs for the Lad, take em up tomorrow to him with some of
this soup.
